Abstract

Banyak peninggalan budaya di kota Semarang yang semakin rapuh dan mengkhawatirkan. Berdasarkan fakta tersebut, peningggalan budaya perlu perhatian lebih dari masyarakat dan pemerintah. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan media pengenalan yang dapat menghimbau masyarakat untuk peduli pada peninggalan budaya. Game adalah media interaktif yang dapat menarik generasi muda untuk bermain. Materi pendidikan dimasukkan ke dalam game sehingga diharapkan anak tidak hanya bermain tetapi juga belajar. Dengan mengintegrasikan fasilitas pendidikan dengan materi sejarah tentang pelestarian budaya, generasi muda diharapkan dapat memahami dari awal, sehingga di masa depan dapat mencintai dan merawat peninggalan budaya. Penelitian ini membahas tentang game yang dikembangkan untuk dimainkan anak dan belajar tentang Lawang Sewu yang merupakan peninggalan budaya di Semarang, dilengkapi dengan visualisasi dari pengetahuan sejarah. Genre dari game ini adalah action adventure. Manfaat lain adalah anak dapat melatih kemampuan psikomotorik sambil bermain game. Kata Kunci: peninggalan budaya, game, Lawang Sewu, Semarang.

Abstract

Barber shop merupakan ruang publik yang masih belum diinfiltrasi oleh wanita dan diperuntukkan bagi pria saja, maka barber shop dianggap cocok untuk menjadi representasi ruang publik khusus pria. Penelitian ini berupaya mencari tahu dampak dari elemen lingkungan interior terhadap persepsi maskulin, sehingga ruang-ruang publik khusus pria yang ada saat ini dapat secara optimal memenuhi kebutuhan persepsi maskulin. Penelitian ini menggunakan stimulus visual berupa desain tiga dimensional dari lima kondisi barber shop yang merupakan manipulasi kombinasi variabel bebas berupa warna biru (A1) dan jingga (A2), serta material concrete (B1) dan kayu (B2). Kombinasi warna dan material ini menghasilkan empat kondisi eksperimental, dan  satu kondisi kontrol tanpa elemen warna maupun material experimental yang diterapkan. Eksperimen dilakukan terhadap 30 orang responden yang merupakan pelanggan barber shop untuk memberikan respon persepsi, emosi, dan sikap terhadap 5 buah stimulus visual yang menggambarkan kondisi barber shop. Data yang didapatkan dianalisa dengan metode ANOVA dan menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan respon terhadap keempat kondisi eksperimental tidak signifikan. Kondisi yang dipersepsi paling positif memiliki setidaknya satu elemen interior maskulin. Sementara kondisi yang dinilai paling mendukung emosi positif tidak menerapkan satu elemen interior maskulin pun. Sehingga menarik untuk menilai lebih jauh dampak kombinasi elemen interior ini terhadap respon responden. Kata Kunci: barber shop; desain eksperimental; emosi positif; persepsi maskulinitas; sikap positif.Influence of Interior Design Elements in Perception of Masculinity (Case Study: Barber Shop)The barber shop is one of the few public spaces that are not infiltrated by women. Therefore, the barber shop is a good representative of a male-only public space. This research was aimed at finding out the effect of interior-environment elements towards a masculine perception, so that current male-only public spaces are able to optimally fulfill the need of a masculine perception. In the experiment for this research, 5 three-dimensional conditions of a barber shop as a result of manipulation with independent variables consisting of color (blue and orange) and material (concrete and wood) were used as visual stimulus. Combinations of these colors and materials resulted in four experimental conditions and one controlled condition without any experimental colours or materials. The experiment was conducted involving 30 subjects to rate how they responded in terms of masculine perception, positive emotion and behavior toward the five visual stimuli. The experimental data were analyzed using ANOVA. The results showed that the responses to each variable were not significantly different. Although the perception response to it was not significantly different from that of the other experimental conditions, Condition 1, in which a decorative element of a big motorcycle and a visualization of football (fixed variables) were combined with a blue color (A1) and wood material (B2), was perceived as the most masculine at M = 89.13, 95% Cl.Keywords: barber shop; experimental design; masculinity perception; positive emotion; positive behaviour.

Abstract

The effect of various urban problems and the increasing of advanced information technology, leading the concept of SOHO (Small Office Home Office) as an alternative solution in operating small- to medium-scale home-based business are set to have significant application in recent years in Indonesia. Yet the context of residential home as a private space for activity of a family live is resulting in chances of privacy conflicts when it is matched to concept of SOHO application inclining to have social and open-ended characteristics for the public. Therefore, the privacy control is necessary for maintaining dweller’s privacy and homeostatic condition in residential home.The aim of this research was to understand how was the pattern of privacy control by means of visual, audio, and olfactory interaction that take place in 10 residential home units chosen for object of study. This research is a qualitative study which delivered descriptively through interpretative analysis using theory of Behavior Setting approach, and such supporting theories as dwelling theory, theory of adaptation and adjustment, theory of privacy, territorial, and personal space. The results of the research shown that the privacy control pattern is more intomanaging visual interaction related to privacy by means of privacy artifact control, differentiation of floor level or using verbal language. Overall results of analysis of privacy control variable are then proposed as tendency of dweller privacy control design to apply concept of SOHO to residential home. Keywords: control; home, office; privacy; SOHO

Abstract

Nowadays, the times affect the development of the education system for children. Full-time employment parents and the problem of leaving their children unattended and without essential activities are reasons full-day schools are in great demand. The learning conditions for a relatively long time and the various activities implemented in this full-day school affect the need for unique facilities compared to other schools, especially in maintaining children’s concentration in learning. This research uses a literature review, field surveys, and interviews with case studies of Salman Al Farisi Elementary School, a pioneer of full-day school in Bandung with an integrated Islamic education concept. Lighting is an interior architecture element that mainly affects student concentration in the classroom. Due to the existing problems, an interactive lighting system must be implemented in Salman Al Farisi Elementary School classrooms to support activities and maintain student concentration in learning. Arduino devices as artificial intelligence tools have the potential to be used in Salman Al Farisi Elementary School classrooms to create an interactive lighting system. The interactive lighting system required is the adjustable room light to maintain student concentration according to the ongoing activity.
