Abstract

The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia in 2018 reaches 30.8%. According to data from the Padang City Health Office in 2017, toddlers with the most stunting conditions in Padang City were in Pauh District as many as 96 toddlers. This is influenced by many factors that can have a bad impact on the child's future. This study aims to determine the factors that influence the incidence of stunting in infants aged 6-24 months. This research is a quantitative study using a cross sectional design with 66 respondents aged 6 - 24 months in Limau Manis Selatan Village, Pauh District. The research will be conducted from May to July 2019. Sampling with purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the factor most related to the incidence of stunting was poor hygiene with a percentage of 48.5% (p value = 0.037). The conclusion of this study all factors have a relationship with the incidence of stunting in infants. Suggestions for health services are expected to be able to provide counseling to mothers and bring toddlers to health services when toddlers are sick so that they can be addressed appropriately.

Abstract

The coverage of exclusive breastfeeding for infants aged 0-5 months in Indonesia in 2018 is only 37.3%. Self-efficacy is one of the main factors affecting the behavior of exclusive breastfeeding. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the self-efficacy of mothers for breastfeeding decreased, so increasing efforts are needed. Increasing knowledge can be done by providing online education based on family centered maternity care (FCMC). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of FCMC-based online education on the self-efficacy of postpartum mothers in exclusive breastfeeding. This type of research is pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design with a total sample of 10 postpartum mothers. Data were analyzed using paired t-test. The results showed that the mean self-efficacy before being given online education was 41 with a standard deviation of 4.37, the mean self-efficacy after being given peer education was 59.8 with a standard deviation of 3.4. There is a difference in the mean value before and after the online education intervention was given with p-value = 0.000 (p <0.05). There is an effect of FCMC-based online education on the self-efficacy of postpartum mothers in breastfeeding. Health servicesare expected to facilitate FCMC-based online education programs to increase self-confidence in breastfeeding.

Abstract

Low back pain is one of the complaints felt by some and almost all postpartum mothers since pregnancy. Low back pain occurs in 45-55% of mothers in the first week postpartum, continues at 8 weeks postpartum as much as 68% and 60% in the next 8 months. Persistent pain causes inhibition of maternal activities and reduces quality of life. One type of complementary therapy is cryotherapy cold therapy with ice. Cold therapy is a therapeutic modality that can absorb tissue temperature so that there is a decrease in tissue temperature through the conduction mechanism. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of cryoptherapy on low back pain in postpartum mothers during home care during the COVID-19 pandemic. This type of research is a pre-experimental design with One Group Pretest-Posttest with a sample of 22 early postpartum mothers (24 hours to 1 week after delivery). Data were analyzed using paired t test. The results showed that the average pain scale before being given cryotherapy was 6.82 with a standard deviation of 0.907, the average self-efficacy after being given cryotherapy was 3.96 with a standard deviation of 0.64. There was a difference in the mean value between before and after the cryotherapy intervention was given with p-value = 0.002 (p<0.05). It is hoped that health services can use cryotherapy as a therapy to reduce postpartum maternal back pain.
