Abstract

This research is the flagship Program of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Rail Clinic at DAOP 8 Surabaya, as a form of public welfare efforts. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) DAOP 8 Surabaya conducts the healthcare train service through the Rail Clinic program. The type of research used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The subject of this study consists of the Staff PR PT KAI DAOP 8 Surabaya and its people. Data collection techniques are performed using in-depth interviews and observations. Analysis of the data done by gaining an understanding of the writing focus will then be drawn a conclusion of a general understanding based on reality. The results of this research shows the flagship Program of PT KAI DAOP 8 Surabaya, the Rail Clinic there are six points in the main activity of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) including cause promotion, cause related marketing, corporate social marketing, corporate philanthropy, community valunteering and Socialy responsible bussines practice. Abstract

This research aims to analyze the representation of gender discrimination in the film Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap using a content analysis method based on John Fiske's theory with a quantitative approach. Gender discrimination is a complex social phenomenon, encompassing various forms of inequality based on sex. In the Indonesian context, gender discrimination is still widespread, especially due to a long-rooted patriarchal culture, as depicted in the film Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap. This film, which highlights Batak family culture, reflects various forms of gender discrimination, including subordination, marginalization, stereotypes and violence. The results showed that of the total of 16 scenes analyzed, the subordination category had the highest percentage at 50% with a frequency of 8 scenes, followed by stereotypes (31%), and marginalization (19%). The category of violence is not found in this film. This research concludes that the most prominent gender discrimination in Ngeri-Ngeri Sedap is subordination, which describes women's position as subordinates in Batak family culture. It is hoped that these results will provide a deeper understanding of how the media, especially films, represent and influence social perceptions regarding gender discrimination.

Abstract

Pertumbuhan pengguna sepeda motor dari waktu ke waktu semakin meningkat, sedangkan disatu sisi kesadaran pengendara motor untuk tertib berkendara belum sepenuhnya baik sehingga tidak mengherankan ketika angka kecelakaan dijalan raya yang terbanyak justru adalah pengendara sepeda motor. Unfuk mengurangi terjadinya kecelakaan sepeda motor, dibuatlah program safety riding yang tujuannya menyadarkan para pengendara motor supaya tertib berkendara. Sasaran utama kampanye ini adalah para pengendara roda dua dan pada penelitian ini difokuskan pada komunitas pengendara roda dua yang saat ini banyak di Surabaya. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Surabaya karena selain Surabaya digunakan sebagai sample city pelaksanaan safety riding juga karena Surabaya merupakan kota dengan angka kecelakaan lalu lintas tertinggi. Penelitian ini akan dilakukan dengan menggunakan Focus Group Discussion dan wawancara mendalam terhadap komunitas bikers di Surabaya lalu kemudian data yang didapatkan akan dianalisis dengan menggunakan teknik analisis data deskriptif kualitatif

Abstract

This research is a descriptive quantitative study that focuses on the evaluation of online classes using online media. The research population consists of 50 active students in the 1st, 3rd, and 7th semesters, selected using the simple random sampling technique, and 5 lecturers from Communication Studies Program Bhayangkara University Surabaya. The data collection instrument used was an online lecture questionnaire. Data analysis uses descriptive statistics. The research results show that students assess online classes using online media as ineffective (39%), very ineffective (19%), effective (23%), and just okay (19%). In the results of this study, there were no (0%) respondents who rated online learning as very effective. Finally, to improve the quality of online lectures during the COVID-19 pandemic, the suggestions from communication studies lecturers and students are (1) providing more adequate quota subsidies for the continuity of online lectures (2) attention to the timing of online classes in accordance with the class schedule, (3) optimal and updated notifications or announcements, (4) upgrade the Bhayangkara University Surabaya SIM e-learning system, especially on the attendance and assignment upload features that still frequently encounter issues, (5) the selection of materials in the video must be based on criteria of easily understandable language, (6) implementation of more engaging activity models such as games and others, (7) during online classes, it is expected that everyone will be on camera (8) increasing server speed,(9) increasing student engagement during online classes and, (10) providing structured evaluations for assessment materials.
