Abstract

The existing data shows that the average number of the graduates of SMK Negeri in Semarang City who continued their study to universities was as many as 16.5%. It shows that the graduates' interest in continuing study to universities has not achieved the Minimum Service Standards (SPM) of SMK which states that among 20% of SMK graduates should continue their study to accredited universities. By this finding, this study was aimed at knowing the influence of the socio-economic background and students' self-potential towards the interest of continuing study to universities in the Eleventh graders of SMK Negeri in Semarang City either simultaneously or partially.The population in this study were the Eleventh graders of SMK Negeri in Semarang City, namely 5,067 students. They were sampled into 100 students by using Slovin formulae. Moreover, the sample was divided through proportional cluster sampling, while their data were collected by using questionnaire and documentation. The collected data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that there was a simultaneous influence ofsocio-economic background and self-potential towards the interest in continuing study to universities showed by the significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and Adjusted R Square of 0.407 (40.7%). Partially, the influence of socio-economic background contributed to the significance value of 0.025< 0.05 and r square as many as 0.226 (22.6%), self-potential influenced the significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 and r square of 0.509 (50.9%) towards the interest in continuing study to universities. DOI: https://dx.doi.org/10.17977/UM014v10i12017p052

Abstract

Abstract This training aims to enhance students' knowledge and skills in processing food based on a nutritional diet for the elderly, who often face health issues such as hypertension, diabetes, and osteoporosis. Using a one-group pretest-posttest design, data were analyzed with the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and N-Gain to evaluate the training’s effectiveness. The Wilcoxon test results showed a significant improvement, with a Z-value of -2.371 and p = 0.018, indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores. The N-Gain score averaged 0.4742, indicating a moderate improvement in participants' knowledge. The pretest average score was 68.33, which increased to 90.83 in the posttest. The satisfaction survey revealed that participants found the training useful, with materials relevant to their needs. Additionally, the training motivated participants to explore entrepreneurship opportunities in elderly food processing.   Abstrak Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta didik dalam pengolahan makanan berbasis diet gizi untuk lansia yang sering mengalami masalah kesehatan seperti hipertensi, diabetes, dan osteoporosis. Dengan menggunakan desain one-group pretest-posttest, data dianalisis menggunakan Uji Wilcoxon Signed Ranks dan N-Gain untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas pelatihan. Hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dengan nilai Z sebesar -2.371 dan p = 0.018, yang mengindikasikan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara skor pretest dan posttest. Skor N-Gain rata-rata sebesar 0.4742, menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan peserta yang termasuk kategori sedang. Skor rata-rata pretest adalah 68.33, meningkat menjadi 90.83 pada posttest. Survei kepuasan menunjukkan bahwa peserta merasa pelatihan ini bermanfaat, dengan materi yang relevan dan memotivasi peserta untuk menjajaki peluang kewirausahaan dalam pengolahan makanan lansia.
