Abstract

The trend of information and communication technology (ICT) in education has become something that is very much needed for the development of education and learning in Indonesia. The integration of ICT in the learning process in Islamic boarding schools is still not optimal. Therefore, this study aims to determine the factors that influence ICT integration in the learning process in Islamic boarding schools in the East Lombok. The method used in this study is a qualitative method using several case studies. The data sources on the research were 32 Islamic Boarding School in east Lombok. While the technique of collecting data used survey, interview, and focus group discussion The results of this study revealed two main themes, barriers and support. Barriers are classified into two groups: teacher factors and institutional support factors (Islamic Boarding school). Teachers include lack of time, lack of qualified human resources and the complexity of ICT integration. At the same time, the factors are limited infrastructure, lack of training, lack of access, and lack of technical support. The use of ICT can increase students' creativity. As for the carrying capacity that they believe ICT use during teaching practice can improve their performance, leadership support is also a key factor determining the integration of ICT during the learning process.

Abstract

Online (e-learning) during the Covid-19 pandemic has become a trend in education that causes significant changes in learning, forcing universities to adapt to learning conditions during Covid 19. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors that influence online learning through the use of the Learning Management System (LMS) during the Covid 19 pandemic at Universitas Gunung Rinjani. Differences in LMS use based on some demographic information such as gender, location (place of residence), and age are also discussed to gain an in-depth understanding of the use of LMS during online learning. There are two research methods used in this study, namely quantitative and qualitative. The data collection process was carried out through an online survey instrument distributed to 6 Faculties 7 Study Programs at Universitas Gunung Rinjani. In addition, interviews with students will be conducted to gain an in-depth understanding of LMS use in their learning. The findings of this study indicate that LMS use during Covid 19 learning can run well; this can be seen from the participants' perceptions of usefulness, ease of use, subjective norms and attitudes of self-efficacy and support from lecturers and colleagues.

Abstract

In teaching and learning speaking process, there are some problems of the teachers such as: the mastery of approach and methods. English teachers have to try to find out and apply proper some strategies in the teaching learning speaking process. As the motivator for students,the teacher should be look carefully and able to overcome and lookcoused of the problem for the problem solving of their students’ problems. They have to apply appropriate method and approach based on the situation and condition of the students and their environment. In this case, board game is one of approaches which is expected to be able to increase students’ speaking ability. In this research, the writer formulated two problems: (1) To what extent is the student's speaking ability for the eighth grade of MTs NW Darussolihin Kalijagain the school year 2019-2020? and (2) What is the effect of board game in improving the students’ speaking ability at the second grade of MTs NW Darussolihin Kalijagain the school year 2019/2020. ? This research was an experimental study. The sample of the study was divided into two groups; experimental group and control group, then the two groups were given the same test. Furthermore, this research used speaking test as the instrument to collect the data. Moreover, the researcher used hypothesis testing to measure the students speaking ability. After that,analyzed the data which were obtained from the experimental group in which they were taught by applying scaffolding talk and the control group was taught by using traditional method.The result of the data analysis indicated that the eighth grade students of MTs NW Darussolihn Kalijaga attained high score on the post test for experimental group. It was the fact that the effectiveness of board game talk was indicated by the mean score of the students that was 58.65. Furthermore, it was also indicated by the result of hypothesis testing that the alternative hypothesis was accepted. It was provable that the t-table was lower than t-test in which the t-table was 1.68 and t-test 7.16. Therefore, it can be concluded that the experimental group had higher ability in speaking skill than the control group.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore how teachers in Pesantren manage classes and learning problems in Pesantren with the uniqueness of the system from the perspective of English teachers. This research method is qualitative research with a case study approach. The data was collected through observation and deepened through semi-structured interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), with English teachers at Islamic boarding schools. The results of this study in relation to class management are categorized into: eight main themes, namely: (1) Challenges to student participation and motivation, (2) Management of student behavior: Between punishment and encouragement, (3) Use of three languages in the classroom, (4) teacher performance as a source of challenges in classroom management, (5) Teacher discipline: breaking the rules due to low salaries, (6) teachers are not English majors, but was forced to teach English, (7) time management, and (8) manage large classes.

Abstract

Kualitas pendidikan dasar sangat ditentukan oleh kemampuan pedagogik guru dalam mengelola pembelajaran secara efektif, terutama di wilayah terpencil yang menghadapi keterbatasan geografis dan sumber daya. Peran kepala sekolah sebagai supervisor akademik menjadi krusial dalam membina kompetensi tersebut melalui pendekatan yang kontekstual dan terstruktur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh supervisi akademik kepala sekolah terhadap kompetensi pedagogik guru di sekolah dasar terpencil. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional, melibatkan 60 guru dari 10 SD terpencil di Kabupaten Lombok Utara. Instrumen berupa angket skala Likert diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya, serta dianalisis dengan korelasi Pearson dan regresi linear sederhana. Hasil menunjukkan adanya hubungan kuat dan signifikan antara supervisi akademik dan kompetensi pedagogik (r = 0,680; p < 0,05), dengan kontribusi pengaruh sebesar 46,2% (R² = 0,462). Supervisi yang dilakukan secara sistematis berdampak positif pada aspek perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa supervisi akademik kepala sekolah merupakan faktor kunci dalam meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik guru di daerah 3T. Temuan ini memperkuat dasar empiris bagi pengembangan kebijakan supervisi berbasis konteks lokal dan pemerataan mutu pendidikan nasional. Abstract The quality of basic education is significantly influenced by teachers' pedagogical competence, particularly in remote areas that face geographic and resource limitations. The role of principals as academic supervisors is critical in developing such competencies through contextual and structured approaches. This study aims to examine the influence of principals' academic supervision on the pedagogical competence of elementary school teachers in remote areas. A quantitative correlational design was employed, involving 60 teachers from 10 remote elementary schools in North Lombok Regency. Data were collected using a validated Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using Pearson correlation and simple linear regression. Results indicate a strong and statistically significant relationship between academic supervision and pedagogical competence (r = 0.680; p < 0.05), with a contribution of 46.2% (R² = 0.462). Systematic supervision has a positive impact on teachers' planning, implementation, and evaluation of learning. This study concludes that academic supervision by school principals is a key factor in enhancing teacher pedagogical competence in 3T (frontier, outermost, disadvantaged) regions. The findings offer empirical support for the development of locally contextualized supervision policies and equitable quality education.
