Abstract

The objective of this experiment was to observe the anthelmintic effect of different concentration of root extract of the sensitive plant (Mimosa pudica L.) to Hymenolepis nana (Hymenolepis sp.) in mice. Sixty mice were divided into 6 groups consisting of 10 mice per group. Mice were infected with 100 infective eggs of Hymenolepis sp. after deworming by mebendazol. After reaching the prepaten phase (? 21st day), mice were treated with different concentration of root extract per oral, namely 100%, 50%, 25%, 12.5%. Positive control treated with mebendazole and negative control treated with distilled water. Fecal eggs were counted using McMaster method on day 2, 4, 6 and 8 after treatment. Mice were sacrificed for worm counting of Hymenolepis sp. in mice intestine on the day 10 day after treatment. Efication of the root extract to Hymenolepis sp. in mice for concentration 100%, 50%, 25% and 12.5% were 59.62%, 86.38%, 45.54%, 92.49% respectively. Reducing in the number of Hymenolepis sp. was inconsistency decreasing in the eggs number per gram fecal. Key words: Hymenolepis nana, Mimosa pudica L., anthelmintic

Abstract

This research aims to identify how much the benefits of binahong leaf extract as a feed additive to the quality of super java chicken carcasses. This research was conducted in the Cage and Laboratory of Lampung State Polytechnic Livestock Department. The material used in this study was 100 super Java chicken day old chick (DOC) that was placed in a stage cage with a size of 100 cm x 100 cm and a height of 60 cm per plot. The research design used a complete random design with 5 treatments and 3 replays. P1: without treatment; P2: binahong leaf extract 250 mg/kg body weight; P3: binahong leaf extract 500 mg/kg body weight; P4: binahong leaf extract 750 mg/kg body weight and P5: binahong leaf extract 1.000 mg/kg body weight. The results of the variety analysis showed that the use of binahong leaf extract on carcass quality had affect (P>0.05) on the life weight and weight of carcasses, but did not affect the percentage of carcasses, the percentage of cooking shrink and the pH of meat, doses 1.000 mg/kg of body weight showed the best results on live weight and carcass weight of the super java chicken.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of giving fermented kiambang ( Salvinia molesta) flour on the performance of super Javanese chicken (joper) the research was conducted at the Lampung State Polytechnic enclosure. As many as 100 joper chickens are kept. Experimental research, using two treatments, namely for control 100% commercial feed and the second treatment with 10% fermented kiambang flour. This result does not affect the performance on the joper chickens. This can be seen from the data on ration consumtion, body weight gain, ration conversion, and mortality. However, fermented kiambang can be used as an alternative as a commercial feed mixture.the weight of the hen given the 10% kiambang is 734, 16 g

Abstract

Joper chicken is a poultry the result of a cross between a rooster and a purebred chicken.  The research of this study was to analyze the effect of using fermented pineapple skin flour (Ananas comosus (L). Merr) in rations on the productivity of joper chicken in the finisher phase.  The study was conducted on 90 joper chickens from the age of 1 day (DOC) to the age of 65 days.    This research used a paired sample t test with 2 treatments and 15 replications, the treatments were P0 (control ration of 0% TKNF), and P1 (ration added 10% of TKNF).  The data obtained from the study were calculated using Microsoft Excel and analyzed using SPSS. The results of the study showed that the use of fermented pineapple peel flour did not have a significant effect (P>0.05) on the observed parameters. the parameters analyzed were ration consumption, PBT, FCR, and IOFCC. The results showed that the P0 and P1 treatments were ration consumption of 1.860 g/head and 1.877 g/head, PBT of 688 g/head and 697 g/head, FCR of 2.70 and 2.69, and IOFCC of Rp. 14.787.00 and Rp. 15.731.00.
