Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of activities and learning outcomes of studentby usingproblem based learning (PBL) model at topic of ecosystem in the class X-1 SMA Negeri 1 Palipi Samosir districtin Academic Year 2015/2016. This research is a classroom action research. The subject of this study was gradex-1 in the class SMA Negeri 1 Palipi Samosir the student numbers 30 people. The techniques of data analysisare by computing the percentage of student learning outcomes and learning completeness. This average valueof the pretest was 47,74. After applying outdoor study with problem based learning (PBL) model, the averagevalue of posttest I in cycle I was 70.87 and the posttest II in cycle was 82.63. This indicated there was animprovement in learning outcomes of the posttest I and posttest II for about 12. The learning completenesswhich as gained in cycle I was 16 student (53.3 %) of all the student and in cycle II it was 26 students (86.7%), sothe learning completeness was reached. For the data indicator of achievement percentage is know that in thefirst cycle of Leraning objectivesset out in the second indicator has not been achieved. While the second cycleindicator has been reached. For student learning activity data that the level of student learning activities hasindreased from 47.67% (first cycle I) to 87% (cycle).Key words: learning outcomes, activities, problem based learning models and cycle.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning dan Problem Based Learning pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia di kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 11 Medan T.P. 2017/2018. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen. Populasi penelitian terdiri dari 61 orang dan teknik pengambilan sampel dengan cara random sampling, dimana kelas XI IPA 2 (kelas DL) sebanyak 31 orang, dan kelas XI IPA 3 (kelas PBL) sebanyak 30 orang. Alat yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data berupa tes yang berbentuk soal pilihan berganda terdiri dari 20 butir soal. Berdasarkan analisis data bahwa nilai rata-rata hasil belajar model pembelajaran model Discovery Learning sebesar 39,35 dengan SD 10,37 dan hasil belajar model STAD sebesar 33,5 dengan SD 9,69 Hasil pengujian hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji-t pada taraf signifikan 0.05, dapat disimpulkan ada perbedaan hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan pembelajaran model Discovery Learning dan Problem Based Learning pada materi sistem pernapasan manusia di kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 11 Medan T.P. 2017/2018.

Abstract

This study’s purpose was to improve or increase the student learning activity and learning outcomesbu using Problem-based Learning model on human reproductive system topic. This research type wasclassroom action research due to two cycles that used. The objects were students class XI IPA 4 in SMAN 2Soposrung Balige. The data got by using multiple-choice question to measure the students learning outcomesand an instrument to observe the students learning activities. The result showed that the application ofproblem-based learning model can increase learning activities of students from the first cycle to second cycle of23.06%. The application of problem-based learning model can improve student learning outcomes in submaterial human reproductive system was indicated by an increase learning outcomes of the first cycle tosecond cycle of 19.8%. Then, the data that displayed good progress of learning mastery of student hasincreased from first cycle to the second cycle about 53.4%.Keywords: Problem-based Learning, Student Learning Activity, Student Learning Outcomes, HumanReproductive System

Abstract

This research aims to know how the influence of problem-based learning models on student learning outcomes on the Human Skeletal System in grade VIII material of SMP N 14 Medan. This type of research is a quasi-experiment. The population in the study was all students of class VIII semester 1 of SMP Negeri 14 Medan consisting of 6 classes. The sample of this study was taken in two classes, namely VIII-1 as an experimental class of 30 people and class VIII-2 as a control class of 30 people determined by cluster random sampling. The instrument used is a learning outcomes test in the form of multiple choices consisting of 20 items. The hypothesis test used in this study is the t test. Based on the results of data analysis, the average score of the experimental class pretest was 49.0 and the average value of the control class pretest was 44.66 while the average score of the experimental class postest was 71.66 and the control class was 60.66. Based on the results of the t postes test, a calculation of > ttabel = 2,747 > 1,672 with α = 0.05 was obtained so that Ha was accepted and H0 was rejected. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of problem-based learning models on student learning outcomes on human skeletal system material in class VIII SMP N 14 Medan
