Abstract

The experiment  aimed to evaluate the production of nutrients  by different varieties of sorghum grown with high valuable indigofera legume  in intercropping system and to determine the suitable variety of sorghum that produced the highest nutrient in the system. The experiment was done at Jonggol Animal Science Teaching and Research Unit (UP3J) Jonggol, from November 2014 to March 2015. This experiment was conducted using completely randomized design with 2 factors (3 x 4) and 4 replications. The first factor was sorghum varieties (PATIR 3.2 (S1), PATIR 3.7 (S2), and CTY-33 (S3)). The second factor was indigofera composition (0% indigofera (I0), 30% indigofera (I1), 40% indigofera (I2), and 50% indigofera (I3)). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance and HSD test. There was no interaction among varieties of sorghum and indigofera composition. Indigofera population of up to 50%  in multiple cropping system had the highest (P<0.01) dry matter content, crude protein content, ash content, total fresh weight production, total dry weight production, total crude protein production, total ash production, and carrying capacity. Sorghum variety CTY-33 planted in multiple cropping system had  the highest (P<0.01) dry matter content, total dry weight production, and (P<0.05) total crude protein production. PATIR 37 sorghum variety planted in multiple cropping system had  the highest (P<0.05) ash content and (P<0.01) total ash production.  It is concluded that Indigofera population of up to 50% planted with different varieties of sorghum in multiple cropping system had  the highest nutrient production.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakter agronomi (KA) sorgum varietas Pahat (VP) yang ditanam pada jarak tanam (JT) yang berbeda pada lahan marginal. Sorgum VP ditanam pada JT 25 cm × 25 cm (JT1), 20 cm × 20 cm (JT2), 15 cm × 15 cm (JT3) dan 10 cm × 10 cm (JT4), masing-masing perlakuan terdiri atas 4 ulangan dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dan uji lanjut BNJ. Hasil analisis keragaman menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan JT memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman (TT), panjang daun (PD) dan lebar daun (LD) dengan nilai signifikansi, namun memberikan pengaruh yang tidakberbeda nyata terhadap tinggi malai (TM). Hasil uji BNJ menunjukkan bahwa perlakauan JT1 menghasilkan TT yang nyata lebih tinggi dibandingkan JT2, JT3 dan JT4. Perlakauan JT1 menghasilkan PD nyata lebih panjang dari pada JT2, JT3 dan KT4. Perlakauan JT1 menghasilkan LD nyata lebih lebar dari pada JT2, JT3 dan JT4. Kesimpulan penelitian bahwa JT1 sorgum VP menghasilkan karakter agronomi terbaik pada TT, JD, LD dibandingkan JT2, JT3 dan JT4Kata kunci: karakter agronomi, kerapatan tanam, sorgum Pahat

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of bokashi cow feces on the productivity of ratoon sorghum variety of kawali. This research design used was completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatment consists of P0= without fertilization, P1= 4 kg of fertilization, P2= 8 kg of fertilization, P3= 12 kg of fertilization. The measured variables are number of tillers, plant height, and panicle weight. Result of the analysis showed that treatment with 12 kg/plot provides highly significant effect (P <0.01) of the number of tillers, plant height, and panicle weight compared without fertilization, 4 and 8 kg/plot fertilization. Based on this research it can be concluded that cattle feces bokashi as the organic fertilizer up to 12 kg produced the best effect on number of tillers, plant height, and panicle weight. Ratoon harvest yields plant height 16,65% and panicle weight 2,65% higher than first harvest. Keywords: Bokashi, kawali productivity, ratoon, sorghum

Abstract

The study aimed to determine some effects of Aleurites Mollucana L (pecan) seed flour on the performance of native chicken production. Technically, this study used 100 native chickens. An experimental method was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD). In addition, this research used 5 treatments with 5 replications. There were 25 experimental units, where each unit employed 4 native chickens. The treatments used were P0 (Control), P1 (Basal Feed + 1% of pecan seed flour), P2 (Basal Feed + 2% of pecan seed flour, P3 (Basal Feed + 3% of pecan seed flour), P4 (Basal Feed + 4% of pecan seed flour). Variables observed consist of weight of live native chicken, carcass’s weight and percentage, meat’s cholesterol and percentage, abdominal fatty’s percentage, spleen’s weight and percentage, heart’s weight, and percentage, and liver’s weight and percentage. Methodologically, data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) from RAL. However, if there were differences between treatments and Duncan’s multiple distances, a further test was applied. As result, the study demonstrated that weight of live native chicken, carcass’s weight, abdominal fat percentage, spleen’s percentage, heart’s percentage, liver’s weight, and percentage had significant difference (P <0.01), but meat cholesterol, spleen’s weight, heart’s weight had insignificant difference (P> 0.05). It was concluded that the 4% addition of TBK (Aleurites Mollucana L), or pecan, seed flour, in feeding provided the best performance of native chicken’s production. Further, it was recommended to conduct a further study using pecan seed oil to reduce saponins in pecan seed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui produktivitas Tumpangsari Indigofera zollingeriana dan Brachiaria decumbens di areal perkebunan kelapa berdasarkan produksi bahan kering pada jarak tanam dan pemupukkan berbeda. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap yang terdiri dari: faktor A yakni Monokultur, K: kombinasi Jarak Tanam dan faktor B: Pemupukan, setiap kombinasi diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan jarak tanam, pemupukan, serta interaksi jarak tanam dan pemupukan memberikan hasil yang berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap berat segar batang Indigofera zollingeriana. Perlakuan jarak tanam, interaksi jarak tanam dan pemupukan memberikan hasil yang berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap berat bahan kering batang Indigofera zollingeriana dan berat daun segar Indigofera zollingeriana, sedangkan perlakuan pemupukan memberikan hasil yang berbeda sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap berat bahan kering batang Indigofera zollingeriana dan berat daun segar Indigofera zollingeriana. Perlakuan pemupukan, interaksi jarak tanam dan pemupukan memberikan hasil yang berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap berat segar batang Brachiaria decumbens, berat daun segar Brachiaria decumbens dan terhadap berat Bahan kering batang Brachiaria decumbens, sedangkan perlakuan jarak tanam memberikan hasil yang berbeda sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap berat segar batang Brachiaria decumbens, berat bahan kering batang Brachiaria decumbens dan berat daun segar Brachiaria decumbens. Perlakuan interaksi jarak tanam dan pemupukan memberikan hasil yang berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap beratbBahan kering daun Indigofera zollingeriana dan berat bahan kering daun Brachiaria decumbens. sedangkan perlakuan jarak tanam dan perlakuan pemupukkan memberikan hasil yang berbeda sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap berat bahan kering daun Indigofera zollingeriana dan berat bahan kering daun Brachiaria decumbens. terhadap berat daun segar Brachiaria decumbens. Disimpulkan bahwa tumpangsari tanaman Legum Indigofera zollingeriana dan rumput Brachiaria decumbens di areal perkebunan kelapa dengan kombinasi jarak tanam Indigofera zolingeriana 1,00 m x 1,50 m dan Brachiaria decumbens 0,25 m x 0,25 m yang diberikan pupuk memberikan hasil produksi bahan kering tertinggi. Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi nisbah kesetaraan lahan tumpangsari legum Indigofera zollingeriana (Iz) dan rumput Brachiaria humidicola (Bh) berdasarkan produksi bahan kering batang dan daun, menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan kombinasi jarak tanam yaitu, K1: Iz 1,00 m 1,00 m dan Bh 0,50 m 0,25 m; K2: Iz 1,00 m 1,00 m dan Bh 0,5 m 0,5 m; K3: Iz 1,00 m 1,50 m dan Bh 0,50 m 0,25 m; K4= Iz 1,00 m 1,50 m dan Bh 0,50 m 0,50 m. Variabel yang diukur yaitu nisbah kesetaraan lahan (NKL) berdasarkan produksi bahan kering daun dan batang. Data dianalisis varians dan uji beda nyata jujur (BNJ). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi jarak tanam memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda sangat nyata terhadap NKL. Uji BNJ menunjukkan bahwa jarak tanam Iz 1,00 m 1,50 m dan Bh 0,50 m x 0,50 m memberikan hasil NKL total yang sangat nyata lebih tinggi dari K1 dan K2, namun berbeda tidak nyata dengan K3. Disimpulkan bahwa tumpangsari Iz dan Bh sangat menguntungkan ditunjukkan oleh hasil NKL berdasarkan produksi bahan kering daun-batang dengan nilai >1 dimana kombinasi jarak tanam optimal: Iz 1,00 m 1,50 m dan Bh 0,50 m x 0,25 m.
