Abstract

This study aims to produce students' worksheet of natural science on environmental pollution material for students of class VII in junior high school that are suitable for learning activities. This study uses the research and development methods by adapting Thiagarajan model through three stages of research that includes define, design and develop. The data collection was done by using observation, interviews and validation of the expert teams. The appropriateness of students’ worksheet is assessed based on aspects of the students’ worksheet component, content appropriateness, presentation, graphics, language and characteristics students’ worksheet based on multiple representations. The result of this research is students’ worksheet based on multiple representations which have been validated by expert team that is expert lecturer, science teacher and colleague. Based on the assessment that has been done by a team of experts, students’ worksheet of science learning based on multiple representations with the theme of environmental pollution categorized very well. To conclude, that students’ worksheet of natural science based on multiple representation is worthy to be used in natural science learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui perspektif mahasiswa terhadap pembelajaran pascapandemi Covid-19 dengan model project-based learning (PjBL). Sebanyak 31 mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan IPA yang berpartisipasi dalam pengembangan modul mata kuliah Anatomi dan Fisiologi Makhluk Hidup menjadi subjek penelitian. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan instrumen penelitian berupa angket dan pertanyaan terbuka. Angket digunakan untuk mengetahui perspektif mahasiswa terhadap kualitas pembelajaran, motivasi, dan kinerja selama pembelajaran. Data hasil angket dianalisis secara statistik deskriptif. Pertanyaan terbuka pun digunakan untuk menggali informasi terkait perspektif mahasiswa terhadap pembelajaran tatap muka 100%, kendala, solusi, manfaat, serta kekurangan dari PjBL. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas pembelajaran, motivasi, dan kinerja mahasiswa berkategori sangat baik. Selain itu, PjBL berdampak positif pada kompetensi penyusunan modul IPA, pemanfataan teknologi, keterampilan sosial, dan sikap mahasiswa. Kesulitan yang dialami berkaitan dengan kerja tim, produk, dan waktu. Solusi permasalahan tersebut antara lain menasihati anggota kelompok, berdiskusi, mengatur waktu, membagi tugas, memperhatikan arahan dosen, mencari referensi di internet, dan presentasi kelompok. Dengan demikian, kelebihan model pembelajaran project-based learning dengan kegiatan penyusunan modul IPA pada perkuliahan tatap muka 100% pascapandemi Covid-19 lebih besar daripada kekurangannya. Selain itu, sebagian besar mahasiswa memilih pembelajaran tatap muka daripada pembelajaran daring.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to explore college students’ perspectives on creating worksheets for Junior High School students. Plant anatomy and physiology were used as the topic of the project. The participants included 30 undergraduate students in the 5th semester of the Science Education Study Program who took the Anatomy and Physiology of Living Things course at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Tidar University. Open-ended questions were applied to gather students' perceptions of the project. Moreover, the data on college students’ satisfaction with the course and the instructor were taken through a questionnaire. The result of this study showed creating students’ worksheets gave beneficial effects even though some obstacles should be handled during the process. In the other side, students were satisfied with the project. Based on the constructivism theory, this student-centered learning process gave a wide opportunity for college students to construct knowledge and meaning from their experiences in the creation of student worksheets. The findings of this study can be used as considerations regarding learning strategies to improve classroom practices.
