Abstract

Resistance evaluation to blast disease (Pyricularia grisea) on 12 paddy genotypes was carried out in the green house by using spray inoculated method with race 033 and 041 of P. grisea , and SCAR (Sequence Characterized Amplified Region) marker by using Pib primer pairs. The results revealed that among 12 paddy genotypes were classified into six resistance groups. The first group comprised two genotypes (Jatiluhur and Asahan) having three resistance genes. The second group comprised two genotypes (Oryza malampuzhaensis and O. punctata) having two resistance genes against race 033 and 041. The third group had one resistance gene against race 033, comprised one genotype (Way Rarem). The fourth group comprised one genotype (Danau Tempe) having two resistance genes against 041 race and Pib. The fifth group comprised three genotypes (Kalimutu, Maninjau and Laut Tawar) having two resistance genes against race 033 and Pib. The sixth group comprised two genotypes (Kencana Bali and Cirata) having no resistance gene to blast race 033 and 041, and Pib.  These results indicated that Pib gene did not confer resistance to race 033 and 041 of Pyricularia grisea.  Resistance to race 033 and 041 might be controlled by different resistant gene.   Key words : SCAR, Blast resistant, Rice

Abstract

ABSTRACTRole of Capital Increase Against Rice Farming Income in Blitar and Ngawi Regency, East Java. The assessment aims to analyze the role of additional capital to income derived from rice farming PUAP done in Blitar and Ngawi in 2010. Assessment involves 12 Gapoktan deliberately chosen based ranking of member Gapoktan and farmers as the unit of analysis. Primary data were collected by interviews with 32 respondents representing Gapoktan equipped with focus group discussions on each of the key figures who are competent. Primary data collected consisted of the use of capital farmers, farm land size, the amount of financial aid received, productivity and farm income. Results of data analysis using quantitative and qualitative descriptive approach shows the following matters namely farmers utilize additional capital for the purchase of PUAP components of fertilizers and pesticides that are considered important to increase farm productivity. Where the revenue increase is a reflection of increased farm productivity that occurs as the optimal use of technology. But the success of the use of BLM PUAP boost farmers' income, irrespective of the good control by Gapoktan. Key words: Rice, additional fund, rural business development agribusiness, farm income ABSTRAK Pengkajian yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran tambahan modal yang bersumber dari PUAP terhadap pendapatan usahatani padi dilakukan di Kabupaten Blitar dan Ngawi akir tahun 2010. Pengkajian melibatkan 12 Gapoktan yang dipilih secara sengaja berdasarkan pemeringkatan Gapoktan dan petani anggota Gapoktan sebagai unit analisis. Pengumpulan data primer dilakukan dengan wawancara terhadap 32 orang responden mewakili Gapoktan dilengkapi dengan  diskusi kelompok terfokus terhadap tokoh kunci yang kompeten. Data primer yang dikumpulkan terdiri dari penggunaan modal petani, luas garapan usahatani, besarnya bantuan modal yang diterima, produktivitas dan pendapatan usahatani. Hasil analisis data menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif menunjukkan sebagai berikut yakni petani memanfaatkan tambahan modal dari PUAP untuk pembelian komponen-komponen pupuk dan pestisida yang dianggap penting untuk peningkatan produktifitas usahatani. Dimana peningkatan pendapatan ini merupakan refleksi peningkatan produktifitas usahatani yang terjadi karena penggunaan teknologi yang optimal. Namun keberhasilan pemanfaatan BLM PUAP dalam mendorong peningkatan pendapatan petani, tidak tergantung dari pengendalian yang baik oleh pengurus Gapoktan. Kata kunci: Padi, tambahan modal, PUAP, pendapatan usahatani
