Abstract

The economic growth of 8 ASEAN countries is influenced by various factors. The main purpose of this research is to analyze the influence of Trade Openness, Investment, Inflation, and Labor Force to Economic Growth of 8 ASEAN countries for period 2008-2015. To prove the research hypothesis used model of econometric with method of OLS (Ordinary Least Square), estimated by using Eviews version 6. From result of analysis can be concluded that the variables of Trade Openness, Investment, Inflation and Labor Force based on result of test simultaneously, all variables simultaneously have a significant affect to Economic Growth of 8 ASEAN countries at a significance level of 5% with a probability of 0.000020. While individually, the variable of Trade Openness has positive and insignificant effect on Economic Growth with coefficient 0.010085. Investment variable has negative and insignificant effect on economic growth with coefficient of -0.079034. Inflation variable and Labor Force variable have positive and significant influence to Economic Growth with each coefficient of 0.142221 and 2.032047.

Abstract

One of the sectors driving economic growth is tourism. The development of tourism has an important role in increasing the absorption of manpower, encouraging the equalization of business opportunity, encouraging the equitable distribution of national development, and contributing to the country's foreign exchange revenue generated from the number of foreign tourists visiting. In this Mojokerto regency aggressively promote tourism in the region, one of which is cultural heritage tourism in Trowulan which has been national standard. This study aims to observe the attractiveness of tourist destinations in Trowulan, the analysis is done by interviewing methods that use 4 components of attraction of tourist destinations (Crouch & Ritchie, 1999) ie Mix of activities, facilitating resources, organization and location. The findings of this study that there is a lack of activity, the gap between organizations and facilities that have not been good if they see the status as a national cultural heritage.

Abstract

This study explains about the conditions of Indonesia's Economic Growth before and after the enactment of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). This research uses qualitative descriptive approach by using qualitative descriptive analysis. In addition to focus on the conditions of Indonesia's Economic Growth before and after the enactment of the MEA, this research will also explain about one of the issues which related to Indonesia's Economic Growth before and after the MEA's implementation. The issue is about the cause of the low competitiveness of the Indonesian economy to Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand before and following the enactment of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). The findings of this study indicate that Indonesia's Economic Growth before and after the enactment of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) is in a different, volatile, and fairly stable condition. When compared, after the implementation of AEC Indonesia's Economic Growth has decreased. It shows that, AEC has no positive impact on Indonesia Economic Growth. There are various factors that cause it one of them is the significant impact of the AEC can not be seen in the short term but in the long run. Even if Indonesia's Economic Growth is stable, there are various problems that occur and potentially adversely affect Indonesia's Economic Growth. The low competitiveness of the Indonesian economy against Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand is due to the ongoing domestic problems that hamper Indonesiacompetitiveness in the globalized world. These problems include the low ease of licensing and doing business, infrastructure problems, and bureaucratic issues.

Abstract

The paper seeks to analyze the relationship between electricity consumption and economic growth in Indonesia using Granger Causality Test method. The study also applied ADF UnitRoots Test and Johansen Cointegration Test to ascertain the stasionerity and the relationship between variables that was examined. This paper’s study used time series datas in the period 1995-2015. Based on results, the study found the existence of significantly impact of the variables on economic growth. This study also showed an evidence of one-directional causal relationship between electricity consumption and economic growth.

Abstract

Petroleum has a very important role in the Indonesian economy as asource of energy for domestic economic activities. Along with the increasingeconomic development and population growth and transportation in Indonesiaresulted in increased fuel consumption (BBM), while the production of petroleumIndonesia is still very limited. This becomes a problem when dependence on non-renewable fuels such as higher fuel oil (BBM). The dependence of a country onthe import of energy will greatly affect the state of national energy security. PT.Pertamina is engaged in downstream gas station business. This study aims toanalyze PT. Pertamina as a dominant company and fuel competition in theoligopoly market to identify the advantages possessed by PT. Pertamina incompeting in the downstream business.

Abstract

This study was conducted with the aim of identifying the effects of the Impact of Economic Openness (including Export Intensity, Import Raw Material, Foreign Investment), Wages and Outputs on Employment Absorption. The object used in this research is the Convection Industry in West Java Province with a period of 4 years (2010-2013). This study uses a quantitative approach. By applying panel data regression method with Fixed Effect Model with Period Weights, the result of the research shows that variables of economic openness such as import of raw materials and FDI have a positive and significant effect on labor absorption. While the export variable showed insignificant results. In addition, factors such as wages and outputs also have a significant effect on labor absorption.

Abstract

The growing global economic environment makes MSMEs must plan the right strategy to compete and grow. In this research, strategic plan is arranged through SWOT analysis by looking at internal environment that is strength and weakness and external environment that is Opportunity and Threat on company. The type of research used is descriptive with qualitative approach. The data in this research is obtained through observation, interview and documentation on the research case study that is UD. PawonKue. The data analysis method used is SWOT analysis with stages of arranging IFAS and EFAS matrix, merging IFAS and EFAS matrix, SWOT quadrant, and SWOT matrix. From the results of this study concluded that the appropriate strategy used in UD. PawonKue is an Aggressive Strategy or Growth Strategy. An Aggressive Strategy that can be applied in UD. PawonKue is optimizing business management, product development, and expanding market share.

Abstract

Horticulture is one of Indonesia's agricultural sub-sectors with quite good economic potential that can create income, business opportunities, employment opportunities, as well as upstream-downstream linkages and with other sectors, and also has a good export potential in the international market, such as ASEAN market. This research is to analyze the condition and position of competitiveness of Indonesian horticulture commodity in ASEAN market in 2012-2016, and to formulate strategies that can support the increasing value and competitiveness of Indonesian horticultural exports. Research on the competitiveness of Indonesian horticultural exports 2012-2016 was analyzed using Revealed Comparative Advantages, Export Competitiveness Index, and Acceleration Ratio. The commodities studied in this research are cut flower, mango, mangosteen, guava, avocado, watermelon, potato, tomato, and temulawak which is the leading commodity of Indonesia in 2012. Based on the results of the three analyzes, it can be concluded that there are horticultural commodities has a high export competitiveness in the ASEAN market because it meets all three criteria specified, but of course there are horticultural commodities which still have low export competitiveness in the ASEAN market. It is necessary to create strategy in order to increase the value and also improve the quality of products and the competitiveness of Indonesian horticulture in the ASEAN market.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of trade openness, human development index, and foreign direct investment on gross domestic product in ASEAN-5 countries (Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines) for 2005-2014 period. This research uses quantitative approach with panel data regression model. The results of this study indicate that trade openness has a significant positive effect on gross domestic product at quadratic level. Similarly, human development index and foreign direct investment individually have a statistically significant effect on gross domestic product. So it can be concluded that internal and external variables of ASEAN-5 countries have a positive and significant influence on gross domestic product.

Abstract

The economic growth of the five ASEAN countries is influenced by various factors. The main purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of Tourism, Money Supply, and Per Capita Income on the Economic Growth of the five ASEAN countries in 2005-2015 period. To find out the research hypothesis used econometric model with the method of OLS (Ordinary Least Square), which is estimated using Eviews 6. From the analysis results can be concluded that the variable of Tourism, Money Supply, and Per Capita Incom based on test results together, all variables together -the same significant effect on the Economic Growth of the five ASEAN countries at a significance level of 5% with a probability of 9.731762. While individually, variable Income Per Capita have positive and insignificant effect to Economic Growth with coefficient 0.395975. Tourism variable has positive and insignificant effect to Economic Growth with coefficient of 0.029077. Money Supply variable has positive and significant effect to Economic Growth with coefficient of 0.03303.
