Abstract

Tulisan ini menfokuskan diri pada tantangan dan respon pesantren dalam era informasi. Berawal dari asumsi pesantren sebagai subkultur yang menyaring berbagai unsur luar yang tampak lebih dominan dalam rangka menjamin keutuhan Islam. Karakter seperti inilah yang menjadi alasan kenapa pesantren bisa eksis dalam kurun waktu yang sangat panjang. bisa disimpulkan bahwa pesantren saat ini sedang mengalami “kesenjangan budaya” (cultural) di saat berinteraksi dengan internet. Hal ini terbukti dari kompleksitas respon pesantren terhadap internet dan adanya arus digitalisasi pesantren yang susah dibendung.Kata Kunci: Pesantren, Cultural Lag, Internet.

Abstract

Ijtihad is mandatory in Islam, but it became an impossible dream since the fatwa of closing of the doors of ijtihad and the enactment of various hard and complex terms for mujtahid qualification. However,scholars have sought to soften the terms of ijtihad by offering the concept of tajazzu’ al-ijtihād, ijtihād jamā‘ī up to critical muqallid. What about the so called santris? Could the students perform ijtihad? Ijtihad is not impossible, indeed, for santris, especially at the level three (critical muqallid). Such taqlid can be categorized as taqlid manhajī. Moreover, those santris had been doing this latest version of ijtihad, including through bahtsul masail forum. However, this forum still must be addressed on several aspects, such as expanding the studies discipline (interdisciplinary), analyzing the impact of decisions on social transformation, as well as maximizing of publication and collection of feedback.Keywords: ijtihad, santri, taqlid.

Abstract

The recently political contestations in the Muslim world confirmed a new wave of Islamic politics. The political dynamics that have revolved so quickly and surprisingly, especially in non-Arab countries, are evidence that questioning the harmony between Islam and democracy, pluralism and human rights is no longer relevant. Even though it is not monolithic and is still in the “process of becoming”, the political dynamics that are revolving in a number of Muslim-majority countries actually lead to the same goal, namely the realization of a democratic and civilized politics. Abstract

This paper talks about the system of fiqh schools in Bahtsul Masail, especially in the context of the institution-based trend of fiqh schools in the modern era. Based on historical, normative, and sociological perspectives, this paper concludes that Bahtsul Masail has created a distinctive and unique system of fiqh schools, so that it has strong arguments to be called “the NU fiqh school”

Abstract

This paper reveals the methodological element (usul fiqh) of the “NU fiqh school”, especially those formulated and applied in Bahtsul Masail, and which qualified to be called an institution or ideology-based school of law (madhhab). Using normative, historical and philosophical approach simultaneously, this paper suggests that usul fiqh is not at all monolithic. Throughout its history, this discipline has evolved and changed in such a way, giving rise to various variants or paradigms. One of them is NU usul fiqh, an distinctive Islamic jurisprudance which is influenced by local context and logic of thinking inherited from generation to generation by NU scholars.

Abstract

this paper offers the idea of a multidisciplinary Bahtsul Masail, as a methodological renewal of NU's collective ijtihad forum. This idea is based on three aspects of scientific modality in Bahstul Masail, namely the very nature of tradition, the manhaji mode of thinking in the use of the qauli method, and the problem analysis framework as a result of the 1992 NU National Conference in Lampung . Based on these three aspects, the reform of Bahtsul Masail was carried out by repositioning the problem analysis framework as the grand design of the entire methodological framework in Bahtsul Masail.
