Abstract

This study aims to determine the highest production of planting Gracilaria verrucosa wich is cultivated in the ponds of Tlogosadang Village, Paciran Sub-District, Lamongan District by treating different spacings and initial seed weights. The cultivation method used was longline with a distance of 25 cm between longlines. The treatments were given in the form of spacings of 10 cm, 20 cm, and 30 cm, while the treatments of seed weights were 50 g, 100 g, and 150 g. Treatments were carried out in a pond measuring 20x5 m with a water depth between 90-102 cm depending on the tides. Sampling was conducted every 7 days for 50 days of maintenance by weighed, controlled, and measurement water quality. Before planting seaweed, pond preparation were carried out which included drying, liming, fertilizing to filling the water. This study used a Completely Randomized Factorial (CRF) Design consisted of two factors, namely spacing and seed weight, each with three levels. Data analysis used One-Way ANOVA showed that the treatment of spacing and seed weight gave a very significant difference (P <0.01), so it was continued with the Orthogonal Polynomial Test to see trends. The test results showed that the highest seaweed production was found at a spacing of 20 cm and a seed weight of 50 g, namely 2423.7 g/m. The water quality as a support for the growth of seaweed measured during the study showed that the waters ware classified as good and suitable for the cultivation of Gracilaria verrucosa seaweed. Abstract

The fisheries potential in Gresik Regency is in danger from industrial lead (Pb) pollution. One possible solution is using Sargassum crassifolium, which acts as an absorbent to eliminate Pb in waters. S. crassifolium is characterized by its great affinity for metal cations to bind heavy metal content. This study aimed at finding the effect of S. crassifolium in different forms (wet, dry, and alginate) to absorb Pb content in water. This research was conducted from July to September 2020. The water sample was taken from Gresik Regency and S. crassifolium was obtained from farmers in Talango Island, Sumenep District, Madura. The effectiveness test of the three treatments was conducted based on contact time and biomass factor. Based on the contact time, each treatment was compared with the contact time (1, 7, and 14 days) with 10 g mass per treatment. Meanwhile, for the biomass factor, each treatment was compared by weight (10, 20, and 30 g) for 7 days. The contact time showed that in 14 days, the alginate form of S. crassifolium had the highest absorbent power with 1.370±0.0034 mg.L-1 of lead absorbed and 100% absorbed value. Based on the absorbent mass treatment, 10 g alginate gave the best result with the absorbed lead of 1.364±0.0028 mg.L-1 and an absorption value of 99.71%. The water quality showed that parameters of Dissolved Oxygen (DO), salinity, and nitrates from Gresik Regency were not above standard due to heavy metal pollution. S. crassifolium treatment could decrease the nitrite and nitrate values while increasing DO although still below the standard. This study indicated that 10 g alginate of S. crassifolium in 14 days was effective as a bio-absorbent for Pb heavy metal.

Abstract

Produktivitas primer waduk meliputi plankton, oksigen terlarut, karbon dioksida, dll. Produktivitas primer merupakan energi utama yang menjadi dasar struktur tropis ekosistem perairan, dan merupakan respon terhadap kondisi fisik dan kimia yang ada. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis parameter fisika, kimia dan biologi serta tingkat produktivitas primer perairan Waduk Desa Kedungsoko Kecamatan Mantup Kabupaten Lamongan. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan pada Tanggal 27 Januari – 31 Maret 2021, di Waduk Desa Kedungsoko Kecamatan Mantup Kabupaten Lamongan. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu metode pengamatan langsung dan uji di laboratorium, dengan parameter yang diamati yaitu parameter fisika (suhu dan kecerahan), parameter kimia (pH, DO, Nitrat dan Fosfat) dan parameter Biologi (fitoplankton). Hasil pengamatan menunjukan suhu berkisar antara 26,9-30,3ºC, kecerahan berkisar antara 29-46,5 cm , pH berkisar antara 7-7,9, DO berkisar antara 3,1-7,5 mg/L, nitrat berkisar antara 2,1-4,2 mg/L, fosfat berkisar antara 0,22 – 0,51 mg/L. Perairan Waduk Desa Kedungsoko termasuk dalam perairan oligotrofik. Kelimpahan fitoplankton pada Waduk Desa Kedungsoko Kecamatan Mantup Kabupaten Lamongan Jawa Timur berkisar antara 120 – 1.173 individu/L. Hasil identifikasi fitoplankton di perairan Waduk Desa Kedungsoko, ditemukan sebanyak 16 family yaitu : Bacillarrineae, Noctilucaceae, Nostocaceae, Phormodiaceae, Gymnodiniaceae, Dinotrichaceae, Haematococcaceae, Dinophysiaceae, Rhizasoleniaceae, Radiococcaceae, Microsystaceae, Oscillatoriaceae, Aphanizomenonaceae, Cymbellaceae, Thalassiosiraceae dan Flagilariaceae. Terdiri dari 18 genus yaitu : Pleurosigma, Noctiluca, Cylindrospermopsis, Planktothrix, Cochlodinium, Gymnodinium, Pseudo-Nitzschia, Anabaena, Haematococcus, Dinophysis, Proboscia, Radiococcus planktonicus, Closterium, Oscillactoria, Microcystis, Flagilaria, Cymbella dan Thalassiiosira weissflogii. Genus terbanyak di Waduk Desa Kedungsoko Kecamatan Mantup Kabupaten Lamongan Jawa Timur yaitu Cyanobacteria. Nilai produktivitas primer berkisar antara 53,44-213,75 mgC/m3/hari.

Abstract

Udang vaname (Litopenaeus vannamei) merupakan salah satu sumberdaya hayati perairan bernilai ekonomis penting dan telah dibudidayakan secara komersial adalah pada penerapan teknologi sederhana sampai intensif dalam produksi udang vaname di wilayah tropis telah menunjukkan bahwa udang vanamei memiliki keunggulan dibandingkan dengan jenis udang yang lain. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui strategi pemasaran gelondongan udang vaname yang diterapkan oleh pengusaha udang vaname di Kabupaten Lamongan (yang dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Glagah, Kecamatan Deket dan Kecamatan Babat). Jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu data primer dan data sekunder. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan studi kasus (case study). Analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini analisis deskriptif (akumulasi atas data dasar dalam cara deskriptif semata-mata tidak perlu mencari atau menerangkan saling berhubungan, menguji hipotesis, membuat peramalan, atau mendapatkan makna atau implikasi). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan perhitungan matriks SWOT posisi. Strategi untuk pengembangan gelondongan udang vaname di Kabupaten Lamongan berada pada kuadran I yaitu menggunakan Strategi Agresif dimana pengusaha memiliki kekuatan dan peluang yang besar. Jadi di harapkan pengusaha harus lebih meningkatkan usahanya sehingga bisa mencapai peluang dan bisa menambah kekuatan dari usahanya.
