Abstract

Crop losses due to phytonematodes infection commonly occurred on intensive plantation practiced for a long time. The research was aimed to study phytonematodes status on several age-different plantation of Cavendish banana in PT NTF Way Kambas, Lampung. Soil and root samples were taken from three different plantations, selected based on time period of cultivation practice, i.e. 3–5, 10–12, and 17–19 years long. The modification of Baermann funnel method was applied to collect nematodes. The status of phytonematodes were determined based on the absolute frequency (AF), relative frequency (RF), and absolute population (AP) of each genus. The results showed that 13 phytonematodes genera inhabited Cavendish banana crops. Pratylenchus and Radopholus have important status on a land that had been cultivated for 3–5 and 10–12 years with AF 100%, RF 31%, and  AP 298.8, and 423.0  individues per 200 mL of soil, respectively on 3–5 years long lands, and AF100%, RF 39% and PA 215, and 126 individues per 200 mL of soil, respectively on 10–12 years long lands. Pratylenchus and Radopholus were less important on 17–19 years long rotated lands with AF 77%, RF 22% and AP 33.0 and 16.4 individues per 200 mL of soil respectively. The status of other phytonematodes were not important with low value of AF, RF, and AP.

Abstract

The research aimed at studying the level of attack and population of mealybug cassava in multiple cassava planting locations in Lampung Province takes place from September 2017 to January 2018. Sampling was carried out in several cassava planting locations in five villages in five sub-districts in South Lampung, Central Lampung, and East Lampung. Attack crop samples were ten plants that were systematically chosen, each at five sample points located on four diagonal lines and one at the midpoint of each field. One plant at each sample point was selected for observation of the mealybug population. The laboratory process is carried out at the Plant Pests Laboratory, Plant Protection Department, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The results showed that mealybug  were found in all locations of observation with a low population density of 0.68-3.26 individuals. per 3 leaves. Location of cassava planting does not affect the population of mealybug  but this location affects crop damage which ranges from 47 - 59%. Damage to plants in South Lampung is lower than damage to plants in East Lampung and Tanjung Bintang.

Abstract

Beras yang disimpan dalam gudang sering mengalami kerusakan akibat serangan hama. Kumbang Moncong Beras (Sitophilus oryzae) merupakan hama utama yang menyerang beras. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh serbuk daun pandan wangi dan serbuk daun jeruk purut terhadap mortalitas Kumbang moncong beras dan pengaruhnya terhadap susut bobot beras. Penelitian ini menggunakan percobaan  rancagan acak lengkap dengan 7 perlakuan kontrol (P0), daun pandan wangi 8 gr (P1), daun pandan wangi 9 gr (P2), daun pandan wangi 10 gr (P3), daun jeruk purut 8 gr (P4), daun jeruk 9 gr (P5) dan daun jeruk 10 gr (P6). Data dianalisis menggunakan sidik ragam dalam taraf 5% dan dilanjutkan dengan analisis uji lanjutan Duncan Multiple’s Range Test (DMRT). Hasil yang didapatkan dari penelitian setelah perlakuan tiap dosis 7 hari setelah aplikasi (HSA)  adalah serbuk daun  pandan wangi  pada dosis 10 gr (P3) dan serbuk daun jeruk purut dosis 10 gr (P6)  paling efektif untuk meningkatkan mortalitas kumbang moncong beras (S. oryzae) dan mengurangi serangan kumbang mocong beras dari susut bobot beras.

Abstract

Spodoptera frugiperda J.E. Smith merupakan serangga invasif yang telah menjadi hama pada tanaman jagung (Zea mays) di Indonesia (Kementan, 2019). S. frugiperda bersifat polifag. pengendalian S. frugiperda yang dapat dilakukan antara lain hayati (predator, parasitoid, dan patogen seperti jamur yang dapat menyebabkan kematian) (Nonci dkk., 2019). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk Mempelajari kemampuan tumbuh, sporulasi dan viabilitas spora sembilan jamur entomopatogen koleksi Laboratorium Bioteknologi Pertanian, Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Lampung. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Juli 2020 sampai Mei 2021 di Laboratorium Bioteknologi Pertanian, Laboratorium Penyakit Tumbuhan dan Laboratorium Ilmu Hama Tumbuhan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Lampung. Pada penelitian ini terdiri dari beberapa percobaan yaitu pertumbuhan koloni sembilan jamur, sporulasi, viabilitas spora sembilan isolat jamur pada media PDA. Pertumbuhan koloni jamur tertinggi dihasilkan oleh isolat SPV (Trichoderma asperellum) (8,27 cm), sporulasi tertinggi dihasilkan oleh isolat SPV (T. asperellum) (10,10 spora/ml), viabilitas tertinggi dihasilkan oleh isolat AS8 (Talaromyces sayulitensis) (74,16%).
