Abstract

It is recommended by several researches that RLSA antennas have possibility as an option for Wi-Fi devices antennas. Therefore, to dig deeper this possibility, we designed a RLSA antenna that mimics the specification of an antenna usually found in market, that is 16 dBi outdoor patch antenna. We carried out a parameterization to get a best RLSA antenna model. The model was then fabricated and measured. The measurement results are quite agrees with the simulation results. We found that with the same size of 0.05 m2, our RLSA antennas has better performance in term of gain (2 dB higher), S11 (7 dB lower), and beamwidth (900 wider) compared to the patch antenna. A significant result is that RLSA antenna has much wider bandwidth (815 MHz wider) compared to the patch antenna. A test to our RLSA antenna as an antenna for Wi-Fi devices shows that it works properly.

Abstract

The Internet has become a basic need for every human being in carrying out his activities. To find out the quality of the internet network, a measurement called the Quality of Service is needed. Quality of service measurement can help in evaluating the performance of internet network providers. Data collection was carried out by monitoring while using YouTube and conducting video meetings using the Zoom application using the Wirleshark software with a viewing time of 30 minutes using the 10 Mbps Iconnet package. The number of users of the Iconnet internet network in this study amounted to 5 users. The data collected in this study were processed using QUALITY OF SERVICE parameters such as throughput, packet loss, delay, and jittler. Then an analysis was carried out by comparing the data obtained with the TIPHON standard. Data collection was carried out at Bumi Mi'Raj Housing, Jalan Bangau Sakti, Pekanbaru City. The results of the 10 Mbps iconnet network research have a very good delay value with an average of 21.75 ms and a very good packet loss with an average of 0.46%. The jitter parameter is in the good category with an average of 24.80 ms and the throughput parameter is in the bad category with an average of 258 kbps. The use of the 10 Mbps iconnet network can be used to play Youtube videos with 360p quality resolution with a total of 5 users. The more users of the 10 Mbps iconnet network, the effect will be a decrease in the quality of the Quality of Service parameter. The use of the iconnet network is better used on the slowest walk than on the slowest time.

Abstract

Dalam merancang sebuah jaringan komunikasi hal yang harus diperhatikan adalah model propagasi yang digunakan harus sesuai dengan daerah yang akan dilakukan perancangan jaringan komunikasi. Sinyal mempunyai mekanisme tersendiri dari pemancar dan diterima oleh user, maka dibutuhkan model propagasi yang sesuai dengan karakteristik daerah. Seperti daerah Kota Pekanbaru tepatnya di Kecamatan Tampan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan model propagasi komunikasi bergerak 2100 MHz yang sesuai dengan karakteristik Kecamatan Tampan. Metode yang digunakan adalah drive test dibantu dengan aplikasi G-Net Track Pro. Berdasarkan perhitungan dan simulasi yang dilakukan di dapatkan persamaan model loss propagasi yaitu linear : Y = 1.1*x + 67, persamaan kuadratik : Y = -0.28*x2 + 1.9*x + 67, persamaan kubik : Y = -0.8*x3 + 3.3*x2 – 2*x+67.
