Abstract

Learning evaluation is a crucial component in the educational process to measure the success of students in achieving learning objectives. The quality of evaluation results heavily depends on the instruments used. Therefore, this paper aims to analyze various types of learning evaluation instruments and explain their development procedures to improve the quality of education. The method used is a literature study by reviewing various sources, including journals and other relevant scientific references. The research results show that learning assessment instruments are divided into two main categories, namely test instruments and non-test instruments. Test instruments, such as written tests, oral tests, and performance tasks, focus on measuring cognitive aspects. Meanwhile, non-test instruments, such as observation, interviews, questionnaires, and portfolios, are used to assess students' affective and psychomotor aspects. The proper and valid use of instruments is key to obtaining accurate and comprehensive data on students' learning progress. This paper concludes that the development of valid and reliable evaluation instruments requires systematic procedures, starting from the preparation of blueprints, item writing, to trial tests and result analysis. The use of diverse and high-quality instruments can provide more effective feedback for teachers to improve teaching strategies and, ultimately, encourage the overall enhancement of learning quality.

Abstract

The potential of elementary-level student needs to be developed during the period of character development; thinking and skills need to be fostered and directed. Each student is equipped with abilities and skills that match their interests and talents, so teachers and parents must be able to identify this potential through extracurricular programs. Not all extracurricular activities can improve their soft skills and self-confidence. The activity plan was divided into four meetings with the categorization of participants, namely I to V, assisted by activity managers, namely teachers and students. The results of the activity implementation obtained that students of categories I and II at the first meeting still did not dare to come to the front of the class and speak. However, at the fourth meeting, they showed the courage to come to the front of the class, introduce themselves and speak for 3-5 minutes. Whereas in categories III, IV, and V, there are changes in skills in writing the material to be delivered, dressing techniques, walking techniques, moving one's body parts, managing nervousness, greeting the audience, and the ability to open and close conversations. The implications of developing soft skills through public speaking can increase students' self-confidence.

Abstract

Issues in implementing the Independent Curriculum or Kurikulum Merdeka, and in integrating religious moderation, often hinder holistic evaluation of learning, thereby affecting educational quality in Islamic higher education. This study examines the influence of holistic learning evaluation on the implementation of the Kurikulum Merdeka and its impact on educational quality, with a focus on religious moderation at UIN SMH Banten. Using a quantitative explanatory approach, data were collected from 174 PGMI students via validated questionnaires (CFA loadings >= 0.60, CR >= 0.70, AVE >= 0.50; Cronbach's alpha > 0.80). Holistic learning evaluation is a comprehensive assessment of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. At the same time, religious moderation refers to balanced, tolerant, and inclusive Islamic values measured by indicators of fairness, respect, and anti-extremism. Data were analysed using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS. The results show that learning evaluation significantly affects educational quality (beta = 0.482, p < 0.001) and the Kurikulum Merdeka (beta = 0.396, p < 0.01), while the Kurikulum Merdeka also significantly improves educational quality (beta = 0.531, p < 0.001). Religious moderation has no significant direct effect on educational quality (beta = 0.082, p > 0.05) and does not moderate the effect of the Kurikulum Merdeka (p > 0.05). Model fit is acceptable (CFI = 0.907, RMSEA = 0.050, CMIN/DF = 1.434). The findings imply that PTKIN should strengthen learning evaluation and curriculum implementation systems to enhance educational quality, while religious moderation should be integrated through curriculum design and academic culture rather than as a direct influencing factor.

Abstract

The Merdeka Belajar program focuses on authentic assessments that reflect students' factual knowledge, focusing on written assessments and students' abilities to apply and adapt the concepts learned in everyday life. The goal of the program's cognitive diagnostic assessment is to diagnose students' core skills and assess their baseline status. Emphasizing diagnostic assessments allows students to reflect on their thinking, identify their strengths, and assess their weaknesses. A qualitative approach was used in this research by utilizing sources related to cognitive diagnostic research, religious education, and Islam. Diagnostic assessments in Islamic religious and character education subjects in elementary schools, especially in the elements of aqidah in grades 3, 4 and 5, aim to achieve the same learning objectives, namely providing information and material related to Asmaul Husna to students. The development of this diagnostic assessment should be able to be adjusted to the differences in students' abilities in the class, so that teachers can determine teaching methods and work formats that suit individual students' abilities.
