Abstract

Mechanic characteristic is needed for efficiency and optimalization of wood as structural member, so that it can be placed in order of construction. By conducting mechanics test refered to ISO 1975, it could be examined a mechanics characteristics of wood as a base of structural aplication. In this case the flexure strength capacity (MOR) is 89.989 MPa and flexure elasticity (MOE) is 13260 MPa. Parallel tension strength (s//), parallel compression strength (stk//), and shear strength (t//) are 126.913 MPa, 0.4s// and 10,913 MPa respectively. The type of collapse is elastic linier; the brittle collapse will be happened in tension on the otherhand elastics and non linier collapse will be happened in flexure, compression as well as shear. Average mechanic intencity of Kamper will increase if the water content is decrease and the highest increasing on the parallel compression capacity, i.e. 50,5% if it is compared to dried and green condition

Abstract

One effort to reduce the weight of the building is through the use of light particles in the concrete or mortar. For that particles of compost to be one alternative to be used. Utilization of compost particles directly willreduce the effects of environmental pollution due to garbage. Technically, in some cases the strength ofconcrete is not a determining factor but rather the ductility. Therefore in this study will be reviewed andfurther analyzed the mechanical properties of lightweight concrete that uses compost particles as basicmaterials. Mechanical properties and tensile strength referred to is the compressive strength, with normalmortar as a comparison.Based on the results of the weight of the material obtained gr/cm3 mortar respectively, cement 1.25, sand1.60, 0.31 and compost particles with water content 12%. In this case the effect of adding compost is adecrease in compressive strength of 48.74%, 68.78% decrease in tensile strength and weight reduction of9.85%. In this case the application in the manufacture of bricks is still possible, if based on a minimumcompressive strength requirement. The composition of lightweight concrete blocks with a mixture of 3%addition of compost particles are 2Semen: 6.25 Sand: 4Kompos: 2.5 water, which will produce concreteblocks with a weight of 1.89 gr/cm3 and compressive strength 7.7 MPa

Abstract

The use of natural materials for construction purposes should be developed. Special reinforced concrete construction, in some cases, the compressive strength is not a determining factor, but rather ductility. On the other hand, bamboo is a natural material has a ductile properties sufficient to be used as reinforcement. For this type of bamboo lear, some properties that are important to note is the compressive strength , σ//= 39.89 MPa,  σ┴ = 5.55 MPa, Shear strength is 7.644 MPa  and tensile strength is 207.523 MPa. In addition, the physical properties of mortar material used is weight of contents of cement is 1.25 gr/cm3, weigtht ofcontent of sand is 1.60 gr/cm3.From the test results it can be concluded that the test samples for concrete mix bamboo panel with division 1 cement and 4 sand did not change significantly so that the maximum load obtained for testing age from 7 days to 21 days also resulted in maximum load that is not much different. Thus the utilization of bamboo reinforced concrete panels for the purpose of the wall can be done, although it still requires further development.
