Abstract

The school readiness should be a part of early detection is done within the scope of the teacher in ECE. The ability of the teacher to archive the result of the test NST can be used to detect the school of readiness to enter Elementary School will provide important information for the education of the children of the next level. Early detection of the readiness of children entering the Elementary School level can be done by using the NST. (Nijmeegse Schoolbekwan Test). The activities of the Community aims to provide knowledge and insights, as well as the skills to the teacher about the school of readiness of children entering the Elementary School level in using the tool of early detection of NST. Through this training, teachers can also improve professional competence especially in doing the evaluation of the ability of the child who is ready to enter Elementary School level. Main target training is the kindergarten teacher under the auspices of the PCA Umbuharjo. Methods of implementation activities include lectures, discussion, practice, and Self and Group Reflection. Material service consists of three large materials i.e. school readiness concepts, basic concepts, and practice the use of the NST NST. The result of the activities of this devotion is in great demand this training by teachers can be seen from the number of participants and the origin of schools that exceed the target. The constraints experienced by participants of devotion when doing testing to students is community service participants (teachers) the difficulty to get the data from the entire question of tests because of limited time with learners and learners who belongs to moody.

Abstract

In support of developing a parenting program for young couples, this study conducted to determine whether and how significantly the module was affects parenting practice among young couples in a small groups. Data were collected through experimental research. The subjects of this research were young couples with requirements as follows: have children whose age is maximum five years old, graduated from high schools, able to communicate fluently, and are willing to attend all interventions and are not joining any similar training. The subjects were 26 parents who are domiciled in the Province of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia and recruited through social media. The data analysis technique was a paired sample t-test. The result indicated -6.299 value t and value p=0.000 or (p less than 0.01). It showed a significant development of parenting comprehension before and after training (mean pretest is about 62.13 and mean post-test is about 78.26). This parenting program module needs to be tested in the wider population to form into final results.

Abstract

Masalah emosi dan perilaku merupakan keluhan yang kerap muncul dalam setting pendidikan anak usia dini. Fenomena di lapangan menunjukkan adanya kesulitan yang dialami guru  dalam membedakan mana masalah emosi dan perilaku yang memerlukan intervensi lebih lanjut dan tidak. Penelitian ini bertujuan memberikan data pendahuluan (baseline research) tentang gejala gangguan emosi dan perilaku disruptif pada anak usia prasekolah di sekolah mitra program studi PGPAUD. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif, menggunakan observasi dan wawancara mendalam terhadap guru. Observasi dan wawancara dilaksanakan dengan mengacu pada panduan diagnosa gangguan emosi dan perilaku disruptif (DSM IV). Upaya deteksi gejala gangguan emosi dan perilaku disruptif ini dilaksanakan di lima sekolah mitra PGPAUD UAD di wilayah Yogyakarta, yang sebelumnya telah melaporkan adanya berbagai masalah emosi dan perilaku yang muncul pada peserta didiknya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 61 anak yang memiliki kecenderungan mengalami gangguan perilaku, gangguan emosi dan keduanya sekaligus. Anak dengan klasifikasi gejala gangguan perilaku disruptif ADHD ditemukan sebanyak 37 anak atau sebesar 9,2%. Ditemukan 10 anak atau sebesar 2,5% anak dari total populasi memunculkan gejala ODD. Gejala Conduct Disorder (CD) ditemukan pada 3 orang anak atau sebesar 0,7% dan gangguan emosi yang dideteksi pada penelitian ini ditemukan sebesar 2,7% atau sejumlah 11 orang anak. Prevalensi komorbiditas paling besar ditemukan pada jenis gangguan ADHD dan ODD.

Abstract

Abstract Baby-Led Weaning (BLW) is an alternative method to introduce complementary foods to infants in which the infant feeds themselves hand-held foods instead of being spoon-fed by an adult. This method has been used widely over the last few years especially in developing countries because the benefits are enormous. A baby whom given a chance to eat from their own hand shows independence, curiosity, and ability to have self-control in which they learn in a fun way. The use of BLW from early stage of life is expected to overcome various behaviour problems in children as well as instill a variety of positive character especially in three domain of human development: cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. However, further research is needed to evaluate the use of BLW method among Indonesian parents. Keywords: Baby-Led Weaning, Early Childhood, and Development  Abstrak Baby-Led Weaning (BLW) merupakan metode alternatif memperkenalkan bayi pada makanan padat dengan cara makan sendiri, alih-alih menggunakan metode tradisional dengan disuapi orang dewasa. Metode ini telah banyak digunakan selama beberapa tahun terakhir terutama di negara-negara berkembang karena memberi manfaat yang sangat luas. Bayi yang diberi kesempatan untuk makan dari tangannya sendiri memiliki pengalaman awal yang berbeda dibanding bayi yang diberi makan dengan cara konvensional. Kemandirian, keingintahuan, hingga kemampuan mengenali dan mengontrol dirinya sendiri adalah ketrampilan yang muncul karena orangtua memberi kebebasan pada bayi untuk mengeksplorasi makanannya sendiri dengan cara yang menyenangkan. Penggunaan BLW sejak dini diharapkan dapat menjadi salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi berbagai problem perilaku pada anak, sekaligus menanamkan berbagai karakter positif terutama pada aspek kognitif, afektif, dan psikomotornya. Tulisan ini dimaksudkan memberikan pemahaman lebih komprehensif mengenai BLW, dan mengeksplorasi berbagai bukti ilmiah yang dapat memberikan pengetahuan logis bagi para praktisi, orangtua, maupun guru.  Kata Kunci: Baby-Led Weaning, Anak Usia Dini, dan Perkembangan.

Abstract

The literacy ability of early childhood is inseparable from their teacher’s role in teaching literacy for children. The knowledge and methods used by the teacher are expected to be able to improve children's skills to comprehend the content of text and become active readers in the future. This research aims to find out teacher's perception towards early childhood literacy development methods in ‘Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal (ABA) Kindergarten in Depok Sub-district. The research method employed in this research is qualitative descriptive. The sampling technique is purposive sampling in order to obtain 8 participants out of 4 kindergartens in Depok Sub-district.  The research data were analyzed by thematic analysis technique using NVivo 12 software. The findings revealed that: (1) teachers’ perception towards early childhood literacy development is mostly defined as the skill to reading and writing. (2) Teacher implementation on the early childhood literacy is carried out through activities involving printed learning media. (3) The development method for early childhood literacy learning is still limited to storytelling and writing. (4) School support for early childhood literacy development methods consists of providing facilities and infrastructures, and supporting teachers create published story books. However, the problems and obstacles faced by teachers are the lack of availability of reading books and inadequate infrastructure.

Abstract

Serial kartun yang memiliki unsur nilai keislaman sangat penting untuk perkembangan anak dalam meningkatkan nilai-nilai keislaman sejak usia dini. Berdasarkan fakta tersebut tujuan penelitian ini adalam untuk menemukan nilai-nilai keislaman yang berada dalam serial kartun Upin dan Ipin episode dugaan puasa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa penelitian kualitatif deskriptif yang bertujuan menganalisis nilainilaikeislaman dalam serial kartun Upin dan Ipin episode dugaan puasa. Pengumpuan data menggunakan Teknik analisis isi dengan subjek serial kartun Upin dan Ipin. Dalam penelitian ini akan menganalisis 6 bagian dari episode “Dugaan Puasa” objek yang ditentukan adalah nilai-nilai keislaman. Keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan triangulasi teknik. Peneliti menemukan bahwa terdapat nilai keislaman yang terkandung dalam serial kartun Upin dan Ipin episode “Dugaan Puasa’ melalui dialog dan adegan-adegan di serial kartun tersebut. Nilai-nilai keislaman ini meliputi nilai Ibadah, nilai Aqidah, dan nilai Akhlak. Nilai keislaman yang dominan muncul dalam serial kartun ini nilai Ibadah yang dibuktikan dengan penyebutan kata ibadah yang lebih banyak dibandingkan dengan nilai keislaman lainnya

Abstract

Playing has become an effective method to holistically stimulate various aspects of child development. However, misconceptions among early childhood education (PAUD) teachers regarding the concept of Play-Based Learning (PBL) can lead to potential malpractice. Therefore, this study aims to explore the extent of PAUD teachers' experiences in Yogyakarta City in implementing PBL. Using a survey design, this research produced both quantitative and qualitative data. Data collection was conducted with the assistance of Google Forms, targeting PAUD teachers in Yogyakarta City through random sampling (N=41) using closed, semi-open, and open-ended questions. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, and qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The results showed that 12.2% of PAUD teachers in Yogyakarta City had low experience in implementing PBL, 56.1% were in the medium category, and the remaining 31.7% were in the high category. This condition is supported by PAUD teachers' recognition that they face a challenge in needing to have broad insights. Meanwhile, four weaknesses of teachers include the various disparity of teacher’s understanding of the PBL concept and three main skills that still require support to improve the quality of PBL implementation and overcome existing weaknesses. Therefore, the study recommends the need to facilitate the strengthening of PAUD teachers' skills tailored to their cluster needs in implementing PBL.
