Abstract

This research is a class action research aiming to develop the short story writing skill score in grade VII C students of SMPN 5 Kediri academic year 2016/2017. The result of this study showed that there was an increasing in the mean score of students' short story writing skills through the Time Token learning model and video media. In the first cycle, the percentage of students’ completion was 33.3% with an mean score of 73.4. Then in cycle II the percentage of students’ completeness was 62.3% with an mean score of 76.6. Furthermore, it can be concluded that the use of Time Token learning model and video media can increase the score of the learning achievement of short story writing skills of VII C grade SMPN 5 Kediri students in the academic year 2016/2017.

Abstract

This research is based on the problem of wayang purwa which is currently starting to not get the attention of the public, especially the younger generation. This study aims to explore the paradoxical aesthetics of the Punakawan wayang through symbolic interpretation. This study uses a qualitative approach with the Punakawan puppet as the object and Dhalang as the research subject. Sources of research data in the form of informants, places events, as well as documents or archives. Data were collected using in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The validity of the data was tested by means of triangulation of sources and review of informants. Data were analyzed using an interactive model with data reduction, data display, and verification procedures. The results showed that the outer structure of the wayang punokawan has distinctive features and characteristics. The inner structure is more about meanings and values that are integrated with the outer structure. In the study of semiotics, wayang punokawan represents or is interpreted based on the values and meanings contained (internal structure). The paradoxical aesthetic value of the opposite between the outer and inner structures of wayang punokawan in Javanese culture is essentially learning the noble values of humanity to be applied in school learning, lectures, and community life.

Abstract

ASSISTED LEARNING DAN AUDITORY INTELLECTUALLY REPETITION UNTUK PENGUASAAN UNDHA USUK SISWAAbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan model assisted learning dan model auditory intellectualy repetition (AIR) terhadap penguasaan undha usuking basa bahasa Jawa pada peserta didik sekolah dasar kelas lima di Sragen. Metode penelitian ini adalah eksperimen. Pengambilan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik cluster sampling (area sampling) selanjutnya dengan teknik proportionate stratified random sampling berdasarkan nilai akreditasi sekolah antara akreditasi A dan B. Pengumpulan data mengunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, tes, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif dan inferensial dengan teknik independent samples test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan keefektifan penggunaan model assisted learning dan AIR terhadap pengguasaan undha usuking basa. Model assisted learning lebih efektif daripada model AIR. Dengan mengkolaborasikan antara hasil analisis deskriptif dan inferensial, diketahui bahwa model assisted learning lebih efektif daripada menggunakan model AIR untuk pembelajaran undha usuking basa. Guru hendaknya menerapkan model pembelajaran assisted learning untuk meningkatkan penguasaan undha usuking basa bahasa Jawa. AbstractThis study was aimed at determining the effectiveness of THE assisted learning model and Auditory Intellectual Repetition (AIR) model on the mastery of undha usuking basa of the fifth-grade elementary school students in Sragen. The study used the experimental method. The samples were chosen using cluster sampling and proportionate stratified random sampling techniques based on the school accreditation status between A and B. The data were collected using observation, interview, test, and documentation. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analyses with independent samples tests. The results show differences between the assisted learning model and AIR model toward the comprehension of undha usuking basa. By collaborating between descriptive and inferential analysis results, it shows that the assisted learning model is more effective than the AIR model for undha usuking basa learning. It can be concluded that the teachers should apply the assisted learning model in the teaching learning process to improve the undha usuking basa comprehension of the students.

Abstract

The Indonesian Language Program for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) in the learning process is inseparable from cultural material. In accordance with the achievements of learning aspects of culture into teaching material in the BIPA program. Culture must be introduced to BIPA learners to avoid culture shock because they will come into direct contact with Indonesian people with a variety of traditions, religions, and tribes. The purpose of this study is to analyze the cultural elements in the novel Entrok by Okky Madasari as a medium for cultural recognition for BIPA students. The object of research is focused on the Entrok novel by Okky Madasari. Data collection techniques through two events, namely literature review and reading. This research is a qualitative type with interactive analysis techniques. The results showed that there are seven cultural elements contained in the novel Entrok by Okky Madasari. The cultural elements consist of language, knowledge, equipment and technology, social organizations, livelihoods, religious systems and arts. Through these seven elements, Entrok's novel by Okky Madasari can be used as a medium of introduction to Javanese culture for BIPA learners at C1 and C2 levels. Learning using cultural aspects still emphasizes the principle of understanding language in communication.

Abstract

The objective of the study is to describe Keris from the point of view of cultural elements. This research is anthropological by analyzing art branch of art that is Keris, where its position is culture, which has seven cultural element. Technique of collecting data with observation, interview and analysis of document / archive contents. Stages of analysis is done by collecting data, data reduction, data presentation and verification. The study concluded that Keris has religious meaning, source of livelihood, social organization, local knowledge, language, artistry and technological meaning. All elements of culture inherent in the keris possess each form of ideas, social behavior and physical form.
