Abstract

This research aimed to describe the effect of STAD technique and vocabulary mastery to reading comprehension ability. This is a quantitative research with quasi-experimental research with factorial design 2x2. Sampling was done by using simple random sampling technique. Data were collected by using objective tests. The results of this research were: (1) there was a difference in reading comprehension between students taught using STAD technique with conventional technique; (2) there was a difference in reading comprehension between students who had a high vocabulary taught by STAD technique type with students having high vocabulary taught using conventional technique; (3) there was a difference in reading comprehension between students who had low vocabulary are taught using STAD technique with students who had low vocabulary taught using conventional technique; and (4) there was an interaction between the use of STAD technique and vocabulary mastery in influencing the students reading comprehension ability.

Abstract

This research were aims to describe the things as follows. First, the ability to write a short story text students of class VII SMP Negeri 12 Padang taught by using cooperative approach Numbered Head Together type. Second, the ability to write short story text students of class VII SMP Negeri 12 Padang taught by using cooperative approach Think Pair Share type. Third, the difference in ability to write short story text students of class VII SMP Negeri 12 Padang taught by cooperative approach Numbered Head Together and Think Pair Share type. This research was quantitative with descriptive method of quasi experimental research design. Sampling was done by using simple random sampling technique. In this research, class VII.3 was assigned as experiment class I which amounted to 32 students and VII.5 as experiment class II which amounted to 30 students. Data collected by using performance test writing short story text. The results of this study are as follows. First, the ability to write a short story text students of class VII SMP Negeri 12 Padang taught by using cooperative approach Numbered Head Together type was 89,58. Second, the ability to write short story text students of class VII SMP Negeri 12 Padang taught by using cooperative approach Think Pair Share type was 81,48. Third, there was a significant difference in ability to write short story text of students in class VII SMP Negeri 12 Padang taught by cooperative approach Numbered Head Together and Think Pair Share type.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan hubungan yang signifikan antara penguasaan kosakata dengan kemampuan membaca pemahaman mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia STKIP PGRI Sumatera Barat. Jenis penelitian ini ialah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode korelasional. Data yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini berupa skor hasil pengukuran terhadap penguasaan kosakata dan kemampuan membaca pemahaman melalui tes objektif. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa semester 3 Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia STKIP PGRI Sumatera Barat. Penarikan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik simple random sampling. Dalam penelitian ini, ditetapkan mahasiswa sesi C yang berjumlah 25 orang. Data dalam penelitian ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji korelasi sederhana yang dimaksudkan untuk menguji hipotesis penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan penguasaan kosakata dengan kemampuan membaca pemahaman mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia STKIP PGRI Sumatera Barat. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dari hasil thitung>ttabel atau 4,67>1,71.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui hubungan penguasaan kosakata siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 1 2x11 Enam Lingkung Kabupaten Padang Pariaman terhadap keterampilan menulis jenis-jenis karangan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif menggunakan metode korelasional. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X1-X9 SMA Negeri 1 2x11 Enam Lingkung Kabupaten Padang Pariaman yang terdaftar pada tahun ajaran 2016/2017 yang berjumlah 281 orang. Teknik penarikan sampel penelitian ini adalah Proportional Random Sampling. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 27 orang. Berdasarkan hasil perbandingan besarnya koefisien hubungan tersebut, dapat disimpulkan, bahwa hubungan penguasaan kosakata dengan keterampilan menulis terhadap kelima jenis karangan, yaitu narasi, deskripsi, eksposisi, argumentasi, dan persuasi, hubungan yang paling signifikan adalah hubungan penguasaan kosakata dengan keterampilan menulis karangan argumentasi karena memperoleh hasil r sebesar 0,588.

Abstract

This research is background by the frequent errors in writing effective sentences The formulation of the problem is how is the ineffectiveness of sentences in scientific papers of Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program students in STKIP PGRI West Sumatra. Research purpose to describe the ineffectiveness of sentences in scientific papers of Indonesian Language and Literature  Education Study Program students in STKIP PGRI West Sumatra. Research data is an ineffective sentence found in scientific papers (theses) students of the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program STKIP PGRI West Sumatra. Data collection technique is the listening method.. Data analysis techniques are reading and marking, inventorying, classifying, analyzing and conducting discussions, discussions, conclusions of data and writing the results of research reports. The results of the study are sentence ineffectiveness based on the seven effective sentence requirements, namely the comparability of the structure, the parallelism of forms, the firmness of meaning, the effectiveness of words, the accuracy of reasoning, cohesion of ideas, and the logic of language.
