Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the effect of learning models with scientific approach, characteristics thinking style, the interaction between learning model with scientific approach and characteristics thinking style toward mathematics achievement. This research was quasi-experimental research with factorial design 2 x 4. The population of research was all students of the seven graders of junior high school in Surakarta city in academic year 2016/2017. The sample of research consists of 190 students. The data in the research was two ways analysis of variance with unequal cells, with the 5% level of significance. The results of the research were as follow: (1) SFEs Learning model gave better mathematics achievement than direct instruction model: (2) Characteristics of Sequential concret (SK), sequential abstract (SA), random concret (AK), and random abstract (AA) thinking styles give the same effect on mathematics learning achievement; (3) In each learning model with SK, SA, AK, and AA thinking style characteristics have the same mathematics learning achievement. (4) In each of the SK, SA, AK, and AA thinking styles that are subject to the SFEs learning model and direct learning have the same mathematical learning achievement.

Abstract

Students motivation plays an important role in every learning process. Lacking in Make A Match (MAM) type model in mathematics teaching has become the justification in finding the solution for the crowded situation. This research used quasi experimental research design. The samples used were 60 students and they were requested to respond a set of motivation questionnaire. In addition, the students activity data was obtained from the observation sheet. T-test was used to determine the difference in motivation between experimental and control group. The result revealed that, the influence of the Make A Match (MAM) Type Model And Bamboo Dance Type Model Through Cooperative Learning on the motivation of the students.

Abstract

Bamboo dance learning model has advantages that can provide motivation to learn and exchange information during learning. But in the implementation of this learning model, the tendency of students to play is greater than learning. Therefore, it is necessary to modify the implementation of this learning model with the help of card media. This media contains questions and answers, so that each student will get one card in the form of questions or in the form of answers in turn. This type of research is classroom action research. Data feeder techniques used tests and observation sheets. From the results of this study it was concluded that student learning achievement increased from an average of 51 to 78.

Abstract

[English]: This article discusses the impact of an online learning using Edmodo application on prospective teachers’ (PTs) social skills based on their thinking styles. A quasi-experimental research was used to examine the impact. Social skill and thinking style questonannires were administered to 100 PTs. The data were analysed using analyis of variances (Anova). The results show that PTs’ social skills with four thinking styles: concrete sequential (CS), abstract sequential (AS), concrete random (CR) and abstract random (AR) through the online learning are better than using a direct learning. Moreover, PTs’ social skills within each thinking style do not show any difference. However, in the direct learning, PTs’ social skills with abstract random thinking are better than PTs’ with abstract sequential.

Abstract

In the process of learning to occur an interaction between teachers with students or students with other students. Interactions is a good one of the factors that support a learning success. Interactions in this study is the social skills of students. Social skills in question is how students collaborate, deliver opinions, establishing relationships with others, have a sense of empathy, and dare to take decisions. In addition, in the learning process of the students also did a thought process. Thought processes referred to in this study are thinking styles characteristic: concrete sequential (SK), abstract sequential (SA), concrete random (AK), and abstract random (AR). These studies are particularly suited to exploratory Research design to give you an idea of the situation and condition of the students processed. The purpose of this research is to study how the social skills of students viewed from the characteristics of their different thinking styles. The result is students with the characteristics of thinking styles AK has better social skills than other thinking style characteristics. Abstract

Abstract

Pension fund planning requires strategies that balance contribution size, rate of return, and investment horizon to ensure long-term financial sustainability. This study compares early investing with small sustained contributions against late investing with large short-term contributions, using a logistic growth model $\frac{dA}{dt} = r_m A\!\left(1 - \frac{A}{K}\right) + C$ solved numerically via the 4th-order Runge-Kutta method. Seven scenarios across three categories (a core comparison, a robustness check, and a trade-off analysis) were designed with total contributions held equal at Rp360,000,000 to isolate the effect of investment timing. In the core comparison, early investing at 6\% over 30 years yields Rp1,009,377,036 (total return multiplier 2.80x) versus Rp583,741,686 (1.62x) for late investing over 15 years, a 73\% difference despite identical capital outlay. More critically, in the trade-off analysis, an early strategy at 5\% over 30 years still outperformed a very late strategy at 8\% over 10 years (Rp835,280,623 versus Rp551,414,017), confirming that even a three-percentage-point return advantage cannot compensate for a shorter horizon. These findings, consistent across different return rates and validated against the classical exponential-annuity benchmark, establish investment horizon as the dominant variable in long-term accumulation and offer practical guidance for early pension fund decision-making.
