Abstract

One of the steps in the preparation of leather products is the skiviing process. Sikiving activities are activities carried out to reduce the thickness of the skin surface on the flesh or on the surface. The skiving is carried out by using a blade that comes in different shapes and sizes. With the difference in the shape of the existing knives, it is suspected that they have an influence on the results of the skiving. The research was carried out by conducting an experimental slash on the skin using a blade with a different shape. The method used in this research is to experiment directly with different blades. The results of this study are 1. The shape of the set blade with a curved tendency is easier to use compared to the set blade with a straight blade, 2. The shape of the blade can affect the result of the adjustment, the shape that tends to be curved can be used in all kinds of areas. which results in a flatter sling and no tearing. Salah satu langkah dalam preparasi produk kulit adalah proses menyeset. Kegiatan menyeset adalah kegiatan yang dilakukan untuk mengurangi ketebalan permukaan kulit pada bagian daging ataupun pada permukaannya. Kegiatan menyeset dilakukan dengan menggunakan pisau seset yang memiliki bentuk dan ukuran yang berbeda-beda. Dengan perbedaan bentuk pisau yang ada tersebut, diduga memiliki pengaruh terhadap hasil sesetan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan melakukan percobaan menyeset pada kulit dengan menggunakan pisau seset dengan bentuk yang berbeda. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan melakukan percobaan penyesetan secara langsung dengan menggunakan bentuk pisau yang berbeda-beda. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah  1.Bentuk mata pisau seset dengan kecenderungan melengkung lebih mudah digunakan dibandingkan dengan pisau seset dengan bentuk mata pisau yang cenderung lurus, 2. Bentuk mata pisau dapat mempengaruhi hasil penyesetan, bentuk yang cenderung melengkung dapat digunakan pada segala macam bidang seset yang berakibat hasil sesetan lebih rata dan tidak terdapat sobekan

Abstract

Reference of shoe last is something quite unique. In making the reference of footwear, special raw materials are required to produce a reference with good quality. The quality of this reference is very influential on the long life of a reference. In addition, the quality of the raw materials used also affects the shape of a reference. The research question posed is what factors determine the criteria for selecting the material, in the process of making the reference of footwear by manual technique. Data collection methods generally refer to interview techniques based on the principle, namely structured interviews, semi-structured and unstructured. Data analysis techniques use a gradual coding system with a focus of attention on the factors that determine the material selection criteria in manual reference footwear generation. Keywords: Reference of footwear, manuals, material characters Acuan alas kaki merupakan sesuatu yang cukup unik. Dalam pembuatan acuan alas kaki, diperlukan bahan baku khusus agar menghasilkan acuan dengan kulitas yang baik. Kualitas acuan ini sangat berpengaruh terhadap lama pakai dari sebuah acuan. Selain itu, kualitas dari bahan baku yang digunakan juga berpengaruh terhadap bentuk dari sebuah acuan. Pertanyaan penelitian yang diajukan adalah faktor apa yang menentukan kriteria pemilihan bahan, dalam proses pembuatan acuan alas kaki dengan teknik manual. Metode pengumpulan data secara umum mengacu pada teknik wawancara berdasarkan prinsipnya, yaitu wawancara terstruktur, semi terstruktur dan tidak terstruktur. Teknik analisis data menggunakan sistem pengkodean secara bertahap dengan fokus perhatian pada faktor yang menentukan kriteria pemilihan bahan dalam pembuatan acuan alas kaki secara manual. Kata kunci : Acuan alas kaki, manual, karakter bahan

Abstract

Shoe last is a foot imitation used in the process of making footwear. The shoe last can be plastic, aluminum, or wood. Footwear last can be made of wood with manual techniques. The making of shoelast using manual techniques is thought to have advantages since it can produce a large size and dimension suitability with the feet used as the models. The purpose of this study was to identify how the craftsman utilizes his body to manually make a precisive shoe last. The research employs the observation method. The authors make observations on the manual process of making shoelast. The research found that pattern making is the first step in making a shoe last. Three techniques of manual shoe last stages are used. They are the strong swing technique to form the basic shape, the light swing technique to form a global shape, and the filing process to form a detailed shoe last.

Abstract

PT XYZ located in DKI Jakarta is a company operating in the footwear sector. In the production process in the outsole section in Rebeca's article, several problems were found, namely dirty outsole, bubbled outsole, creeping outsole, and holey outsole. The aim of this research is to identify the factors that cause outsole defects in Rebeca's articles and to find out the results of the identification in an effort to reduce outsole defects in Rebeca's articles. The method for carrying out this research uses the Six Sigma method. The results of identifying the outsole of the Rebeca article show that based on the DPMO calculation of the outsole defect in the Rebeca article, an average DPMO value of 306.25 was obtained with a sigma level value of 4.94. This shows that the outsole production process has a capacity above the average level. sigma, but this has not achieved the target of improving the quality of Six Sigma, namely reaching a Sigma level of 6 Sigma. Proposed improvements that can be given to the factors that cause defects that occur in the outsole.

Abstract

Vocational education and training are one of the main priorities in improving the quality of human resources in various countries. This training program aims to improve capacity and competence in developing countries through sharing knowledge and experience. One of its main initiatives is the Expert Dispatch Program, which sends instructors from ATK Polytechnic to provide technical assistance related to shoe making at DIT (Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology) Mwanza, Tanzania. The implementation of this activity is divided into 3 stages: 1) Preparation, 2) Implementation, 3) Evaluation of activities. Shoe making begins with manual design making, followed by pattern making using measurable methods, cutting materials and the shoe making process. The results of the series of shoe making processes from design activities to shoe making can be said to be going well, this is evidenced by the results of the training participants' shoes meeting the assessment aspects including neatness, suitability and visual appearance. The level of understanding of the participants regarding the training material provided is categorized as good. A total of 25 participants with an indicator of 21 participants experiencing an increase in understanding the material that has been delivered is a good and positive thing, and provides a conclusion that there is a new value/understanding/knowledge that has been received, understood, and comprehended by participants during the 12 days of training. The instructor succeeded in delivering the material and meeting the needs of the participants, with an average total evaluation point reaching 4.77 (good). The assessment of all aspects of the activity including material and theme, instructor, training method, facilities and implementation showed an average value of 4.63 (good)
