Abstract

The purpose of this research is determining the effect of some  treatment combinations and to determine the combination of best compost bunches empty palm oil and dolomite that could support growth seeds palm oil plantations in a main nursery. This research has been conducted in the experimental field, Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau from April to July 2015. The research used Completely Randomized Design Factorial that consisting of two factors. The first factor is giving compost bunches empty palm oil : (37,5, 75 and 112,5 g/polybag).  The  second  factor  is  giving  lime  dolomite  (CaMg  (CO3)2) : (9, 18 and 30 g/polybag).   Each combination made three replications and two plants. The data were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance and the means were tested with Duncan 5%. The research results show that combination of compost bunches empty palm oil and dolomite had show the real effect on the increase in diameter hump of seedlings , but the effect not real on the parameters height of seedlings,increase number of leaves, volume roots, ratio crown rootsand and dry weight of seedlings. Combination compost bunches empty palm oil 112,5 g/polybag and dolomite 18 g/polybag showed better results for the growth of palm oil seedlings.

Abstract

The research aims to determine effect of the use several types of ash on the growth oil palm seedlings on peat media and determine the best type of ash for oil palm seedlings on peat media. The research has been implemented on land technical service unit (UPT) and soil analysis at Laboratory of soil science Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Bina widya college km 12,5, simpang baru, Tampan,Pekanbaru. The research was conducted from august to November 2017. The research eksperimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) consists of 6 treatments and 4 replications, and obtains 24 experimental units,each experimental unit consists of 2 seeds, and the total is 48 seeds. Data obtainable from observations were analyzed statistical using analysis of varian (ANOVA). The results of variance analysis continued with Duncan’s multiple range test at the 5% level. Observation parameters of seedling height,number of leaves,increase in bulb diameter,root volume,root canopy ratio,weight dry seed and soil chemical properties. The results of giving some kind ash that has a real effect for the height of the seedlings and the increase of leaves and the best treatment at the provision of oil palm empty fruit bunches ash which showed the highest yield on seedling height of 23,52cm,root canopy ratio of 2,70g and the weight dry of seedlings is 22,27g.Keyword : Oil Palm, Type of Ash, Peat

Abstract

Okra is a vegetable plant the has long been cultivated in Indonesia. Okra can growth on soils low fertility, such as inceptisol soils. This research was aimed to obtain the best type of organic fertilizer in improving the growth and production of grow in Inceptisol. This research was conducted at Agricultural Faculty of Universitas of Riau in October-December 2018. The provision of organic matter (P) consisting of P0 = without applying organic P1 organic fertilizer = Vermikompos 15 t. ha-1 (3kg/plot) P2 = Cow Manure 15 t. ha-1 (3kg/plot) P3 = egg shell flour 15 t. ha-1 (3kg/plot) P4 = TKKS of 15 t. ha-1 (3kg/plot). The observed parameters are the height of the plant, the number of leaves, circular stem, flowering age, harvest age, the number of crop samples and the weight of cropping samples. The Data obtained was analyzed in a statistiling and advanced tests of Duncan New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at a 5% level. The results showed that some organic fertilizers such as vermicompost, cow dung, eggshell fertilizer and TKKS compost were more influential than not being given organic fertilizer. The best fertilizer in this research is cow manure that giving the best result on growth and production of okra compared to other fertilizers. Keywords: okra, vermicompos, cow manure, egg shell flour, fertilizer TKKS

Abstract

The objective of the research is to seek the influence of the type of compound fertilizer which can be used for different types of soil on palm oil seedling in the pre- nursery. This research was conducted in the experimental field and Laboratory of Production Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau in Campus Binawidya Km 12.5 Simpang BaruPekanbaru. The research was lasted 4 month from March 2016 until Juny 2016. Completely Rendomized Design (CRD) was used in this research, with two factors. first factor is three types of compound fertilizer and the second factor is planting medium that consists three level. Parameters measured were seedling height, number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf area. Data obtained from the research results were statistically analyzed by analysis of variance followed by a further test of Duncan's New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5%. Based on factor analysis of variance that soil type sigmificantly affected plant height, number of leaves, core diameter, and leaf area of oil palm seedlings. Whereas factor and the interaction type of compound fertilizer and growing media influence the amount is not significantly affected plant height, number of leaves, core diameter, and leaf area of oil palm seedlings age of four months in Pre-nursery. The key word: the type of compound fertilizer, types of soil, the Oil Palm
