Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Babinsa-TNI and field extension worker (PPL) assistance to the implementation of UPSUS programs and the success of UPSUS targets (increased production). The study was conducted at the UPSUS rice production center in Gorontalo Province, i.e; Bone Bolango District, Gorontalo Regency and North Gorontalo Regency. Sampling was done by simple random sampling method involving 162 respondent farmers during 2017. The measuring method to the role of Babinsa-TNI and field extension worker wasdone by Work Achievement Value Standard. The influence of Babinsa-TNI and field extension workerwas analyzed using the production analysis method usingproduction function of Cobb-Douglas stochastic frontier analysis. The results showed that the average Babinsa-TNI and field extension workerhad good performance in terms of high scoring value indicator. The Babinsa-TNI assistance in implementing the UPSUS program has a significant effect on increasing production and technical efficiency of rice production. The assistance of agricultural extension worker also has a positive effect on increasing production and technical efficiency of rice production.

Abstract

Agronomic and Economic Analysis of BUJAKA Technology Package (Drought Tolerant Maize Cultivation Technology) in Gorontalo Regency. Drought stress has caused plant growth and yields to decrease. For this reason, it is necessary to assembly  a drought tolerant maize cultivation technology package. This study aims to analyze the growth, yield, and economic performance of the application of drought tolerant maize cultivation technology package (BUJAKA). The research was carried out for two planting seasons, namely 2019 and 2020 in Gorontalo District, Gorontalo Province. To determine the agronomic performance (growth and yield) of the application of the BUJAKA, a randomized block design (RBD) method was used as a treatment using 10 hybrid and composite maize varieties. In planting season I, the treatment was repeated 6 replications and planting season II was repeated 4 replications. To find out the economic performance, a farming analysis was carried out including revenue, costs, benefits and financial feasibility with a parcial budget analysis. The results showed that the BUJAKA technology package was able to increase the productivity of maize compared to the existing technology. The productivity of maize increased from 356,.01 kg / ha to 5215,95 kg / ha. Changing the application from existing technology to BUJAKA technology requires an additional fee of 39%, however, with an increase in productivity, the benefits obtained also increased by 4.63. 772 IDR/ ha (an increase of 50%). BUJAKA technology was financially feasible to be promoted to replace existing technology because the value of R> 1 (2,36).Keywords: agronomic performance, economy, maize technology, drought tolerant ABSTRAK Cekaman kekeringan menyebabkan pertumbuhan tanaman dan hasil  jagung menjadi menurun.

Abstract

Sugarcane is an important commodity in Gorontalo Province. However, the development of sugarcane farming is constrained by limited cultivation land and low productivity of sugarcane. The government continues to improve farm productivity and efficiency through the application of technology, optimization of the use of agricultural tools and machinery, production input assistance, improvement of irrigation networks, and other supporting facilities. Increasing farm efficiency is vital to increase farmers' production and income. This study aimed to determine the technical capability, allocative, and economical of sugarcane farming, and find out the factors that influence the efficiency of sugarcane farming in Gorontalo. The study was conducted in 2017 with a survey method with questionnaires or a structured questionnaire. The research location was determined purposively in one of the sugar cane production centers of Gorontalo Province, namely Boalemo Regency. The selection of respondents was carried out by a simple random sampling technique with a total of 47 sugarcane farmers. The data analysis method uses the Cobb Douglas stochastic frontier production function with the Maximum Likelihood Estimates. Financial analysis of farming was done to determine the feasibility of sugarcane farming. The results showed that the average level of technical, allocative, and economic efficiency of sugarcane farming in Gorontalo were 0.90, 0.52, and 0.53, which means that sugarcane farming was technically efficient, but not yet allocatively and economically efficient. Six out of seven variables that influence the inefficiency of sugarcane farming were farmers' education, farming experience, frequency of counseling, participation in farmer groups, credit access, and technological assistance. The age variable does not significantly affect the technical inefficiency of sugarcane farming. Keywords  : Maximum Likelihood Estimates, sugarcane national production.
