Abstract

This study aims to determine multiple livelihood strategies and collaboration for livelihood strategies and preparation of extension programs in the perspective of gender equality in fishing communities. The research method uses quantitative and qualitative approaches. The data were analyzed descriptively and statistically The research location is in Limau District Tanggamus Regency and the number of respondents was 80 fishermen. The data used are primary and secondary data. The results of this study indicate that the community applies a dual livelihood strategy and a collaborative livelihood strategy in Limau District consisting of On Farm strategy, On-Farm and Off-Farm, and On-Farm and Non-Farm. Cumulatively, the gender relations of fishermen's families in Limau District covering domestic, public and community activities have shown an equal division of labor between wives and husbands, namely 76.30 percent. Extension programs should aim at gender equality so as to increase their participation, access and control, as well as the benefits that women enjoy in developing coastal areas. Thus, the results of marine and fisheries development can touch all levels of society and bring society to prosperity and a better life.

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to analyze farmers adoption level on Good Agriculture Practices (GAP), factors related to the adoption level, and the constraints faced by farmers in the implementation of Good Agriculture Practices (GAP). This research was conducted in Kota Agung subdistrict of Tanggamus district, by interviewing 74 respondents, mangosteen farmers who joined and applied Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) at Kota Agung. Data were collected using a survey method with descriptive analysis and Rank Spearman correlation test to examine hypothesis. The results showed that adoption level of mangosteen farmers on GAP is included on a medium classification (64,86%), the factors related are experience of farming, formal education level, characteristics of innovation, and level of cosmopolite characteristic, while the unrelated factors are land area and capital availability. The constraints faced are unpredictable weather conditions, pests and plant diseases, price determination by traders, lack of information and knowledge of Good Agriculture Practices (GAP), and unpublished Good Agriculture Practices (GAP) land registration number in Penanggungan village.Key words: adoption level, good agriculture practices (GAP), mangosteen farmers

Abstract

BUSINESS MANAGEMENT AND BRANDING OF FISHERY PRODUCTS OF ECONOMIC VALUE IN PAGELARAN SUBDISTRICT, PRINGSEWU REGENCY. Fish processors in Pagelaran District, Pringsewu, are mostly still running on simple businesses. processing fish from their parents’ tradition, so that they have ability to run a processed fish business. Processors have not been able to produce a variety of processed products, the processing group has not been able to carry out business management properly, their lack on knowledge to understand the dynamics in the group, and still low in the utilization of information technology in online marketing. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct Community Service activities (PKM) to increase the income and welfare of members of the processing group. The main problem of fish processing capacity development is because of low knowledge and skills of the community related to more modern processed technology, business management, and information technology, especially online marketing. The dedication aims to help increase the capacity of fish processing in optimizing processed fish business as a source of income. In the service will be carried out mentoring in fish processing activities with product variations, business management such as bookkeeping, and information technology. The empowerment target that will be carried out is to increase the knowledge and skills of fish processors about the quality of processed products, about business management analysis, the importance of group dynamics for the development of fish processing groups, and related to online marketing information technology is still low members of the Erwina Fish Processing Group and has not certified products.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan program upsus pajale dikecamatan Seputih Raman dan  mengetahui faktor-faktor keberhasilan Program Upsus Pajale dikecamatan Seputih Raman. Data dikumpulkan pada bulan Januari 2019 dan melibatkan sebanyak 51 responden dan penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode survei. Metodologi yang digunakan yaitu analisis deskriftif kualitatif dan uji korelasi Rank Spearman.  Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa Program Upsus Pajale berjalan dengan baik, artinya tingkat produktivitas padi tergolong dalam klasifikasi sedang yaitu 4,94 ton/ha.  Faktor - faktor yang berhubungan nyata dengan pelaksanaan program Upsus Pajale adalah alih fungsi, jaringan irigasi dan modal petani, sedangkan fragmentasi lahan tidak berhubungan nyata dengan pelaksanaan Program Upsus Pajale.

Abstract

The study is to determine the decision making process in vegetable consumption, food consumption patterns, and vegetable consumption patterns of rice farmers households. This research is conducted using a survey method, the location is determined in Rantau Tijang Village, Pugung Subdistrict, Tanggamus Regency. The number of sample are 74 households which housewives are as respondent. Proportional random method is used as sampling technique. Data collection is carried out in July 2018. Data is analyzed qualitatively and statistically descriptive. The results showed that households in consuming vegetables through the stages of need recognition, information search, alternative evaluation, consumption process, and post-consumption evaluation. The highest consumption of household’s food consumption pattern of rice farmers (kg/household/week) were rice (grains), palm oil (oil and fat), and tempe (nuts). The highest frequency consumption are rice, seasoned vegetables (onion, garlic, chilies), and tempe. The highest amount of vegetable consumption was long beans and cucumber was the highest frequency of vegetables consumption. The most households get vegetables by buying and stir fry was the most common way of cooking by households. The average of household energy consumption is 6,896,05 kcal/day with an energy sufficiency level of 84.13 percent and Desirable Dietary Pattern (DDP) score is 71.86.
