Abstract

Penelitian ini menyajikan masalah tentang pendidikan karakter di Pondok Pesantren An-Nurîyah Bonto Cini’ Kabupaten Jeneponto, Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana implementasi pendidikan karakter. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif yaitu untuk mengungkap fakta, data, dan fenomena yang terjadi dilapangan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Pendidikan Karakter di Pondok Pesantren An-Nurîyah Bonto Cini’ dapat diimplementasikan melalui kegiatan pembelajaran, kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, dan aktifitas religius, 2) Faktor pendukung pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter yaitu adanya sarana dan prasarana yang memadai pada proses pembelajaran. Faktor penghambat pelaksanaan pendidikan karakter yaitu faktor internal dan eksternal yang tidak kondusif, 3) Gambaran karakter santri yaitu tidak ada santri yang melanggar secara signifikan. Kesimpulan yaitu, bahwa proses pembelajaran, kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, dan nilai religius, sangat efektif dan efesien kepada seluruh elemen yang ada di pondok pesantren, sehingga pendidikan karakter nampak pada diri santri. Dengan demikian perlu dimaksimalkan lagi implementasi pendidikan karakter kepada seluruh elemen yang ada di pondok pesantren agar dapat menciptakan generasi yang berkarakter, berintegritas, dan tetap unggul. Abstract

Abstract

This thesis is aimed to find out the improvement of students’ listening comprehension at the third grade of SMAN 1 Benteng Selayar in using Chart filling method. The researcher applied quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent controlled group design. The population of this research was the third grade of SMAN 1 Benteng, which consisted of 296 students. The research subject was the first semester students of III IPA 1 and III IPA 2. The researcher chose 40 students as a sample of the research with 20 students as experimental class and 20 students as control class that selected by using purposive sampling technique.There were two research variables: Independent variable and Dependent variable. The independent variable of this research was Chart filling method. On the other hand, students’ listening comprehension was dependent variable. The result of the data analysis indicated that there was a significant improvement in the students’ listening comprehension after being taught using Chart filling method as a listening method. It was proved by the result of the statistical analysis of the level significance P = 0.05 with degree of freedom (df)=38 indicated that the t-test values of the students’ listening comprehension (5.28) was greater than t-table (2.086). Based on the finding and discussion of the research, the researcher suggested that Chart filling was able use in teaching students’ listening comprehension. And the researcher concluded that Chart filling method was effective to improve students’ listening comprehension at the third grade of SMAN 1 Benteng, Selayar.

Abstract

This study aims to find the effectiveness of role play method toward the students’ motivation in English conversation for the first grade students at MTs As’adiyah No. 49 Bola Aserae – Belawa academic year 2016/2017. The method used in this study was quantitative research through pre-experimental method by using one shot case study pre-test and post-test design. Before the treatment, the reseracher did the pre-test in one class. Moreover, the researcher taught English conversation by role play technique in the experimental class. The last, the researcher conducted the post-test to know whether a role play technique was effective for teaching English conversation in experimental class. As the quantitative method, the researcher analized the data by using the t-test (4.37) which was higher than t-table value (2.093). The result showed that there was significant difference on the students’ speaking achievement taught by using role play. The students’ mean score of the pre-test of the experiment class was 52.4. Then, in the post-test, the mean score of experiment class was 65. Therefore, hypothesis H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. It could be said that role play method was effective in teaching English conversation toward the students’ motivation for the first grade of junior high school students.

Abstract

Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui cara pembentukan karakter toleransi peserta didik di SMK Kesehatan Prima Mandiri Sejahtera Makassar. Penelitian ini termasuk kategori penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi, paedagogik, historis, dan psikologis. Subjek penelitian adalah kepala sekolah, guru pendidikan agama Islam, tenaga pendidik, dan peserta didik. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan, yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik pengelolaan dan analisis data yang digunakan, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi data. Cara pembentukan karakter toleran peserta didik di SMK Kesehatan Prima Mandiri Sejahtera Makassar, yaitu dengan memberikan pelajaran sesuai dengan agama peserta didik, pembelajaran agama diharapkan mampu menanamkan sikap toleransi pada peserta didik mengintegrasikan sikap toleransi pada setiap pembelajaran. Selain itu, melalui kegiatan rutin peserta didik misalnya upacara hari senin atau peringatan hari besar dan ekstrakurikuler seperti palang merah remaja, OSIS, dan pramuka. Pelaksanaanya diajarkan untuk saling menyayangi, menghargai, menghormati dengan tidak membeda-bedakan baik Islam maupun Kristen.Abstract:The purpose of this research wa to find out how to shape the tolerance character of students in SMK Kesehatan Prima Mandiri Sejahtera Makassar. This research belongs to the category of qualitative research using a phenomenological, pedagogical, historical, and psychological approach. The subject of this study was the principal, Islamic Religious Education teachers, educators and students. The data collection method used is observation, interview, and documentation. Data management and analysis techniques used are data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. How to establish the tolerant character of students in SMK Kesehatan Prima Mandiri Sejahtera Makassar is to provide lessons in accordance with the religion of religious learning students are expected to be able to instill an attitude of tolerance in students Integrating an attitude of tolerance in every learning. and through routine student activities such as Monday ceremonies or extracurricular holidays and celebrations such as the teenage red cross, student council, and boy scouts. The practitioners are taught to love each other, respect, respect without discrimination both Islam and Christianity.

Abstract

The research aims at finding out the influence of Word Chain Game in increasing the students’ vocabulary with two research objectives.This research was conducted at MTs Barana Jeneponto Regency in Academic Year 2018/2019. In this research, the population was 60 students in the eighth grade. The sample was 40 students. There were 20 students in Class VIII A as experimental class and 20 students in VIII B as controlled class. The research applied non equivalent control grup design. The instrument used to collect the data was writing test, in fill in the blank form. The result of the data analysis indicated that there was a significant improvement in the students’ vocabulary after being taught using Word Chain Game. It was proved by the result of the statistical analysis of the level significance P = 0.05 with degree of freedom (df) = 38 indicated that the t-test values of the students’ vocabulary (2.492) was higher than t-table value (2.042). Therefore, word chain game also gives opportunities for the development of teachers, learners, and learning itself. Those opportunities can increase students’ motivation and responsibility, a student-centered approach based on individualization, and also accepting the new and dynamic learner's and teacher's roles.

Abstract

The study aims at finding out the relationship between students’ interest and their reading comprehension level in short passages. This study was conducted at the second grade of Senior High School 10 of Gowa. The population of this study was all of the students in academic year 2019/2020 which consisted 265 students, and the sample was 30 students selected by using purposive method. The researcher applied correlational design. The researcher used the instrument to obtain the data, they were questionnaire and test. The scores from both instruments were calculated and analyzed by using statistical procedure of Product Moment Correlation to find out whether there was a correlation between the two variables or not. The result showed that there was low correlation with the index value of correlation coefficient (rxy) of 0.28. Furthermore, the hypothesis testing showed that the index value of correlation coefficient (rxy) of 0,28 was lower than the index value of correlation coefficient of the Product Moment table (rt) of 0,306 which meant that, the null hypothesis (H0) was accepted and alternative hypothesis (H1) was rejected. Therefore, students’ interest in short reading comprehension passages is in average level because only a few students are interested in English lesson especially those who have high interest and many vocabularies to learn English. Short Passages did not give a big impact on students’ interest and their achievement in reading comprehension because of some factors. There is not self-interest in reading, lack of vocabulary and support parents and all of school elements in order to improve the students’ reading interest optimally. The findings of this study might be used as the input for both teachers and students to improve students’ reading comprehension level.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to find out the effectiveness of outdoor learning technique in increasing students’ English expression skill at the second-grade students of a vocational school in Makassar. This research employed quasi-experimental namely non-equivalent control group design with pre-test and post-test. There were two variables in this research; they were independent variable (Outdoor Learning Method) and dependent variable (students’ English Expression skill). The population of this research was the second of a vocational school in Makassar which composes of 179 students. The sample of the research consisted of 40 students which was taken by using purposive sampling technique, 20 students from XI MMD as the experimental class and 20 students from XI RPL as control class. The instrument used in this research was test. The test was used in the pre-test and post-test. The mean score on the post-test (73.9) in the experimental class was higher than the mean score on the post-test (68.9) in the control class. The standard deviation on the post-test (7.7) in the experimental class and the standard deviation of the post-test in the control class (7.6). From the t-test, the researcher found that the value of the t-test (5.747) was higher than the t-table (2.042) at the level of significant 0.05 with degree of freedom (df) = 38. The effectiveness of Outdoor Learning method also can be seen from the effectiveness test, where the result of the test is 0.24(R<1). The data indicated that there was a significance difference between the students’ post-test in the experimental class and post-test in the controlled class. The result of hypothesis test showed that Outdoor Learning Method was significantly effective. Therefore, Outdoor learning method is effective in increasing students’ English expression skill.
