Abstract

One of the leading commodities in the North Coast of East Java which has a large production is gulamah (Sciaenidae). This fish is one of the marine fisheries commodities that have high potential. Previously the use of gulamah was limited to fresh fish and dried fish. Lately these organs in fish (swimming bladders) have also been widely used and actually have much higher economic value. The high economic value of these commodities has implications for the increasing pressure on exploitation of these fish. In fact, sometimes arrests are made without regard to responsible fishing rules. Gulamah is one type of fish that often makes a “croak” sound in its behavioral activities. Study of the schooling sound spectrum of gulamah (Sciaenidae) as a preliminary study for the manufacture of effective and environmentally friendly Sound-Fish Aggreagating Device as one of the food security instruments for marine fisheries products. So it isexpected that with the introduction of new technologies that are efficient, effective, simple and can provide economic added value for fishermen. Analytical descriptive research method and experimental fishing, the data collected is the sound spectrum data schooling gulamah (Sciaenidae), where data collection is carried out at Tombokboyo Waters, Tuban, East Java. The results showed that gulamah in Tombokboyo waters issued a sound with an average amplitude of around -54,97 dB, an average frequency of 732,129 Hz, with a sound duration of 130 miliseconds

Abstract

A gross tonnage (GT) is a volume capacity of fishing vessel regarding its role in the fisheries resource utilization and management affairs. Information regarding GT is important, hence there is a need to conduct measurement in objective manner. The result of GT recalculation conducted by the Ministry of Transportation on under 30 GT fishing vessels showed that there is a significant difference between the documented GT and recalculated GT which indicates a massive mark down. Consequently, most of owners decline the later result as it goes higher and has impact on operational cost. Regarding that problem, this paper investigates the GT calculation process in Indonesia. In order to provide objective measurement, this research compares the existing GT calculation method and numerical computation. The result reveals that both methods produced different GT, which is about 32% gap for fishing vessels in Muncar and 27% gap in Prigi.Keywords: Gross tonnage, fishing boat, measurement, numerical computation

Abstract

ABSTRAK Perikanan pukat cincin di Tuban memiliki kontribusi yang tinggi dalam menciptakan variasi hasil tangkapan. Hal ini disebabkan oleh beragamnya metode pengoperasian yang digunakan yang tergambar pada empat faktor produksi yaitu ukuran kapal, jarak daerah penangkapan ikan, jumlah trip dan jumlah anak buah kapal (ABK) yang diambil dengan metode wawancara kepada 60 responden. Metode Akaike Information Criterion (AIC) merupakan metode analisis yang digunakan memperoleh model faktor produksi yang terbaik dengan menggunakan estimasi maximum likelihood sebagai perhitungan yang sesuai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui model produksi terbaik dengan menggunakan AIC sehingga diperoleh hasil tangkapan yang optimal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah trip merupakan variabel penentu kuantitas hasil tangkapan. Sinkronisasi informasi jumlah trip optimal dan ketentuan upaya penangkapan yang diperbolehkan dapat dijadikan dasar pengelolaan perikanan perikanan pukat cincin di Tuban. Abstract

ABSTRACTGreen Turtle (Chelonia mydas) is one of the animals that have been listed on the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as one of the species that are endangered and protected. Pokmaswas Indah Lestari does conservation with semi-natural hatchery. The program has not been maximized so that the BPP (Agency for Research and Community Service) from Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Brawijaya University is create The MATICGATOR. MATICGATOR hatching percentage is higher than semi-natural hatchery. The research intend to enhance the functionality of MATICGATOR. This research used 75 samples of turtle eggs from 5 mains green turtle (chelonian mydas). The first incubation period is 45 days and the second is 66 days. Based on the results of the research, there is a positive correlation between the differences of diameter to the percentage of turtle eggs hatching success. The highest correlation obtained at mains E to 51.1% and the lowest correlation to the mains C to 15.7%. Percentage hatching on MATICGATOR is 80%.Keywords: Diameter eggs, Green Turtle, percentage of hatchingABSTRAKPenyu hijau (Chelonia mydas) merupakan salah satu jenis hewan yang sudah tercantum di International Union for The Conservation Nature (IUCN) sebagai salah satu species yang rentan dan wajib dilindungi. Pokmaswas Indah Lestari melakukan konservasi dengan penetasan semi-alami. Program tersebut belum maksimal sehingga Badan Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat Fakultas perikanan dan kelautan, universitas brawijaya menciptakan MATICGATOR. Prosentase penetasan maticgator lebih tinggi dari pada penetasan semi-alami. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyempurnakan fungsi Maticgator. Penelitian ini menggunakan 75 sampel telur  dari 5 induk penyu hijau (Chelonian mydas). Masa inkubasi pada penetsan pertama 45 hari dan penetasan kedua 66 hari. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa terdapat korelasi positif antara perbedaan diameter telur penyu terhadap prosentase penetasan. Korelasi tertinggi didapat pada induk E sebesar 51,1% dan korelasi terendah pada induk C sebesar 15,7%. Prosentase penetasan pada MATICGATOR adalah sebesar 80%.Kata kunci: Diameter telur, Penyu Hijau, Prosentase penetasan
