Abstract

The Silent Killer was a nickname for hypertension. Hypertension was a dangerous disease that can attack anyone even without any complaints. Providing appropriate therapy can guarantee the success of therapy for hypertensive patients. This study aims to determine the percentage of correct drugs, correct indications, correct doses and correct patients regarding the administration of antihypertensive drugs at one of the Community Health Centers in Boyolali for the period January-June 2021. This was a type of retrospective descriptive research, with 106 samples taken from medical record data. The results of the study showed that 69.81% of hypertensive patients were female, 30.19% of patients were aged ≥65 years, 90.57% had no comorbidities and 74.53% were diagnosed with grade 1 hypertension. The antihypertensives given to the patients were adequate. The criteria for correct indication were 100%, correct patient was 96.23%, correct drug was 81.13% and correct dose was 93.40%.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe utilization of herbal medicinal plants constitutes an integral part of Indonesian public health culture, holding significant potential to support promotive and preventive family health efforts. However, public knowledge regarding the appropriate benefits, processing, and application of these medicinal plants remained relatively limited. This community service initiative aimed to enhance public health literacy through direct education and the distribution of the Healthy Family Herbal Pocketbook concerning the utilization of medicinal plants. The methodology employed in this initiative consisted of individualized face-to-face education, which was accompanied by the distribution of the printed pocketbooks to the community during the Car Free Day (CFD) event in Surakarta City. A total of 20 participants were enrolled in the activity, which was conducted on November 16, 2025. The results indicated that the participants demonstrated high enthusiasm toward the information provided and were actively engaged in posing questions regarding the benefits, safety, and processing methodologies of herbal plants. The pocketbook was evaluated as an effective educational medium due to its capacity to present information concisely, practically, and comprehensibly. This initiative contributed significantly to improving the community's baseline understanding of safe and rational herbal medicine usage. Consequently, pocketbook-based education proved to be an effective strategy for elevating family health literacy and fostering the appropriate utilization of traditional medicinal plants.  ABSTRAKPemanfaatan tanaman obat herbal merupakan bagian dari budaya kesehatan masyarakat Indonesia yang memiliki potensi besar dalam mendukung upaya promotif dan preventif kesehatan keluarga. Namun, pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai manfaat, pengolahan dan penggunaan tanaman obat herbal yang tepat masih relatif terbatas. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan literasi kesehatan masyarakat melalui edukasi dan pembagian Buku Saku Herbal Keluarga Sehat tentang pemanfaatan tanaman obat herbal. Metode yang digunakan berupa edukasi langsung secara individual disertai pembagian media cetak buku saku kepada masyarakat pada kegiatan Car Free Day (CFD) Kota Surakarta. Sebanyak 20 peserta mengikuti kegiatan yang dilaksanakan pada 16 November 2025. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peserta memiliki antusiasme tinggi terhadap informasi yang diberikan serta aktif mengajukan pertanyaan terkait manfaat tanaman herbal, keamanan dan cara pengolahannya. Buku saku dinilai efektif sebagai media edukasi karena menyajikan informasi secara ringkas, praktis dan mudah dipahami. Kegiatan ini berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan pemahaman awal masyarakat mengenai penggunaan tanaman obat herbal yang aman dan rasional. Dengan demikian, edukasi berbasis buku saku dapat menjadi salah satu strategi efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi kesehatan keluarga dan mendorong pemanfaatan tanaman obat tradisional secara tepat.
