Abstract

Pada masa reformasi, faktor ekonomi telah menjadi kekuatan pendorong di belakang pertumbuhan dan pembangunan China. Untuk menjaga keberlangsungan ekonomi secara berkelanjutan, China telah merubah orientasi besar dengan menghadirkan model pembangunan kepada negara lain dengan proyek Belt and Road.  Arikel ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan tawaran pembangu Perspektif nan China dengan memaparkan beberapa instrument pembangunannya. Untuk mengamati transisi China terhadap ekonomi global khususnya dalam pembangunan penulis menggunakan pendekatan strategic transition yang diambil berdasarkan kajian terhadap politik luar negeri China. Kemudian penulis menganalisis strategi dengan menerapkan instrument yang digunakan dalam internasionalisasi, serta mengkaji dalam beberapa regional terutama di Asia Tenggara dan Asia Selatan. Berdasarkan analisis data, penulis menemukan bahwa dalam transisi ke dalam ekonomi internasional China telah menggunakan beberapa instrumen yaitu: inisiasi Belt and Road sebagai proyek pembangunan serta instrument lembaga keuangan.

Abstract

Within the history of Japanese Colonization, follows establishment of Japanese Military Sexual System. Japanese action trigger transnational movement who gave demands for Japan to redress, but have not accomplished until this time. There are attempts to made an issue’s settlement through Japan-ROK Agreement 2015, however The Redress Movement for Comfort Women in western country still giving their efforts, and there is fresh establishment of new NGO after Agreement accomplished. The purpose of this research is to examine transnationalization’s process of Redress Movement for Comfort Women in the West Country. To analyze the process of transnationalism of Redress Movement for Comfort Women, this research use Transnational Advocacy Network (TAN) approach and Boomerang Pattern Concept. This research have two argument, first argument saying that transnationalism of Redress Movement for Comfort Women in western countries are caused by implementation of TAN and Boomerang Pattern by The Korean Council. The Korean Council must implementing TAN Strategy due to Blockage has given by the Government of Japan and South Korea.

Abstract

Syrian conflict was one of the effects of the Arab Spring and has been evolving into a proxy war and get prolonged. Among many actors who are active and has their own interest in the international politics, the Holy See came to fight for peace in Syria. This study aimed to explain the reason why the Holy See was getting involved in pursuing peace in Syria. This research used a desk research method with an explanative type. This study used the theory of constructivist norms and the concept of foreign policy. Constructivism assumed that norms, one of which is domestic norms adopted by a country, can influence the interests of a country and  affect the foreign policy. In this case, Pacem In Terris, as one of the encyclicals in Catholic social teaching, has become one of the domestic norms of the Holy See. Therefore, this study found out that Pacem In Terris was the domestic norm of the Holy See affected the interests of the Holy See to fight for peace in peaceful ways and then as a 'map' that influenced the policy of the Holy See to participated through several foreign policies towards Syria.

Abstract

Since Jacinda Ardern's period as a prime minister in New Zealand, the country has contrasted climate change policy with the previous prime minister. Ardern's concern about climate change leads New Zealand to change the countries' diplomatic relations and add its foreign aid to the Pacific Islands countries. New Zealand's orientation and concern for the regional climate change crisis show a shift in Jacinda Ardern's leadership with her predecessor. This research aims to answer the research question: "Why does New Zealand actively participate in Pacific Island's climate change crisis during Jacinda Ardern Presidency?". This study aims to explain the role of Jacinda Ardern's ideas in shaping the climate change policy in the Pacific Islands. This research is explanative research using the desk research method. This study uses the framework of Ideas and Foreign policy by Judith Goldstein and Robert O. Keohane on answering which type of idea and how the policy-making mechanism that Ardern used.

Abstract

ABSTRACT2016 Abu Dhabi Declaration on Safeguarding Endangered Cultural Heritages is a historic site protection regime that focuses on areas of military conflict, especially the Middle East region. Focusing on France and Egypt as representatives of the initiator and participant countries, researchers sought to look at the country's position and response to the declaration, from its formation to post-signing developments to see the impact of the declaration on the issue of protecting historical sites in areas of military conflict, in particular through state analysis. Researchers used qualitative methods with case studies. This research uses literature studies to support the necessary data. Researchers use the international regime theory of Stephen D Krasner. The results showed that the 2016 Abu-Dhabi Declaration met the characteristics of the regime. However, the significance of the declaration has not been able to be seen given its morally binding nature and the limited situation of the relevant state interests and policies that result in the impact on the protection of historic sites has not been able to occur to the fullest. Although not legally binding, the declaration remains a guideline of values on which participating countries' commitments and progress are based on the issue of protecting historic sites in areas of long-term military conflict in the Middle-East Region.Keywords : national interest, role, regime, declaration, military conflict, historical sites

Abstract

Islamophobia has been rife in Europe, including in France, the emergence of Islamophobia has caused a lot of concern for Islamic communities in the world. The development of Islamophobic acts in France has resulted in a lot of chaos and negative sentiments by the world community, especially globally, towards French society. Until the emergence of Charlie Hebdo magazine which publishes a controversial article which is considered to be ridiculing the Prophet Muhammad, it has finally caused criticism for Muslims, especially in the Middle East. Muslims argue that what has been written in Charlie Hebdo magazine is blasphemy. Prophet Muhammad SAW is considered a role model for the Muslim community so no one should be able to give unfounded criticism. The people of the Middle East as a region with a Muslim majority finally responded to this phenomenon. In this paper, we will examine how the Middle East responds to the phenomenon carried out by Charlie Hebdo. This study uses the concept of a new social movement to see the movements carried out by the Middle East and the impact on the response of Muslim communities around the world.

Abstract

The development of the aviation world is growing rapidly and often involves crossing national borders, so international civil aviation security standards are needed to remain safe and under control. Chicago Convention 1944 became the pioneer to the formation of the International Civil Aviation Organization which is an Organization of International Civil Aviation with a standard rules and practices under the Chicago Convention. As an international civil aviation organization, ICAO has binding rules for its member countries to then be implemented in domestic regulations. January 2020 Iranian military fired missiles at PS752 which is an international civilian aircraft of Ukraine. As an ICAO member country, Iran should have reported to ICAO for the shootings that had occurred. By using the International Regime Effectiveness Theory according to Underdal, this paper aims to determine the role of the ICAO Regime in Handling the PS752 Shooting. The result of this research is an analysis of the effectiveness level of ICAO as the International Regime of International Civil Aviation.

Abstract

The Middle East is an area that has many geopolitical interests, which has resulted in the emergence of political instability in the region. This has affected the security conditions and the world's political economy. Female peacekeepers are sent by intergovernmental organizations, such as the United Nations (UN), to carry out political stabilization programs in the Middle East.  Significant effort has been made by the United Nations to carry out female soldiers’ operations as peacekeepers. This study focuses on the role of female UN soldiers in the geopolitical stabilization efforts in the Middle East. This study uses the concept of the role of inter-governmental organizations (IGO), female military, and geopolitical interests. This research  uses a qualitative-explanatory analysis that study the crucial role of female soldiers in IGO's efforts for geopolitical stabilization in the region.  This study reveals that female soldiers sent by the UN have a positive contribution to the keeping of peace in the Middle East region.

Abstract

The Amazon are being destroyed every year due to land conversion and fires. Brazil has committed to reduce deforestation rates with various policies. Unfortunately, since Jair Bolsonaro took office as President of Brazil in 2019, the commitment to reduce deforestation of the Amazon has been faded. Commitment shifting is indirectly driven by international trade carried out by multinational corporation, especially multinational corporation which enggaged in the global supply chain for cattle ranching and soybean agriculture, both of these sectors are contribute to the majority of deforestation in the Amazon. This study presents the formulation of the problem is "What is the role of multinational corporation in Brazilian policy changes in the forest management and deforestation of the Amazon?". By using dependency theory, this study argues that Brazil as a developing country is under the shadows of the interests of multinational corporation due to inequality, inevitably the government accommodate these interests in changing policies to expand the expansion of multinational corporation in the Amazon, especially those related to the exploitation of natural resources and deforestation. This research is a qualitative research using descriptive research type. This research finds that inequality in global capitalism brings exploitative development in Brazil, especially to deforestation for commercial land conversion and this condition is accommodated by the Brazilian government under Jair Bolsonaro.
