Abstract

Chronic malnutrition in toddlers, especially those with stunted growth, is one of health problems in Indonesia. The stunting cases increased in 2016 compared to a year earlier. The prevalence of stunting in several regions in East Java are still high, especially in Jember. Stunting has an impact not only on the physical growth, but also on the cognitive development and is related to the economic productivity in the future. One of the efforts to encourage the general public to exercise a healthy behavior and to consume balanced nutrition is through health promotion services at Posyandu (unified health services). The component that plays an important role in this case is “kader” (fronts). This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the simulation of "fulfillment of balanced nutritional needs & utilization of local food" on the knowledge, attitudes and behavior of kader in Panduman-Jelbuk-Jember. The number of samples in this study was 36 kader in Panduman - Jelbuk - Jember. The analysis method used was T-test for normal distribution data, Mann Whitney-U and Wilcoxon for the data that were not normally distributed. Statistical test on the knowledge aspects results in p value 0.126, on attitude 0.740 and on behavior 0.004. Thus, it is concluded that there are insignificant differences in the aspects of knowledge and attitudes between before and after the treatment whereas significant differences occur in the behavioral aspects. However, changes in behavioral aspects leaned exactly towards behavior deterioration, which may be due to a bias in this study.

Abstract

Background. Nutrition problems in children under five in Indonesia have undergone improvements. This can be seen, among others, from the decrease in the prevalence of malnutrition in children under five from 5.4% to 4.9% in 2010. Despite the decline, the nominal number of malnourished children is still relatively large, therefore intensive treatment to overcome that matter. Research Methods. The research design used was quantitative with the design of one group pre test post test. Research Result. The increase in body weight in the red rice porridge treatment group was much higher compared to the average value of weight gain in the treatment group giving white rice porridge. Conclusion. The treatment of porridge of brown rice tempe to increase body weight in children is considered quite effective.

Abstract

Sayur sangat penting untuk dikonsumsi bagi anak-anak khususnya anak usia sekolah (AUS) dasar. Saat ini anak-anak cenderung kurang mengonsumsi sayur, kondisi tersebut sangat memprihatinkan karena berdasarkan data dari Riskesdas tahun 2013, kecenderungan proporsi penduduk Indonesia umur ≥ 10 tahun yang kurang mengonsumsi sayur dan buah masih berada di bawah yang dianjurkan yaitu 93,5% dan berdasarkan survei global Beko, hanya 1 dari 5 anak yang mengkonsumsi jumlah porsi harian sayur dan buah yang direkomendasikan. Riskesdas 2018 menyebut baru 5% masyarakat Indonesia mengonsumsi sayur dan buah secara mencukupi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendidikan gizi terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap ibu dalam konsumsi sayur untuk anak. Penelitian ini dilakukan Di TK Pertiwi Kabupaten Jember. Jenis penelitian Quasi Eksperimen dengan rancangan Pre Test, Post Test dan Independen Test. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh ibu (wali) siswa siswi kelas A yaitu sebanyak 8 orang. Hasil penelitian menunujukkan rata-rata skor pengetahuan sebelum intervensi sebesar 4,13 dan rata-rata skor pengetahuan sesudah intervensi meningkat menjadi 9,00. Rata-rata skor sikap sebelum intervensi sebesar 30,11 dan rata-rata skor sikap sesudah intervensi meningkat menjadi 33,45. Kesimpulan ada pengaruh pendidikan gizi tentang sayur terhadap pengetahuan dan sikap ibu dalam konsumsi sayur pada anak di TK Pertiwi Kabupaten
