Abstract

The Freedom of learning Policy issued by the Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) Nadiem Makarim on November 22, 2019 changed many things in the national education process. Starting from learning practices that place more emphasis on student interests, the assessment process that no longer focuses on cognitive abilities and is handed over to the head of the education unit, to the process of preparing the Lesson Plan (RPP) which is simpler.In the world of Islamic education, this concept is not new. Since classical times, education in Islam has emphasized independence. However, the concept is not institutionalized. Therefore, when the Minister of Education and Culture Nadiem Makarim issued this policy, it seemed as if it was a new thing.Insan Mulia Islamic Vocational School is preparing to apply the concept of Independent Learning. However, its implementation is not optimal. There are two obstacles. First, because this policy is still new, schools still need examples or comparative studies with other schools that have implemented this policy first. Second, the Covid-19 pandemic, which has lasted for almost 2 years, has made the teaching and learning process more carried out online.

Abstract

This research is aims to improve learning outcomes in Islamic Relegious Education subject by using Project Based Learning (PjBL) model. This type of research is qualitative with a descriptive-analytic approach. The results of this study indicate that; (1) Implementation of Project Based Learning (PjBL): The first stage is designing learning which includes studying the syllabus, identifying learning materials, determining learning objectives, determining learning strategies and learning methods, determining learning media and resources, and preparing learning instruments. The second stage is the implementation of learning based on plans that have been made previously. The learning runs smoothly with the Project Based Learning (PjBL) steps, which are fundamental questions, compiling a project plan, compiling a schedule, monitoring, testing results, and ending the evaluation of experiences. (2) The results of the application of Project Based Learning (PjBL) are to improve student learning outcomes in the subject of Islamic Religious Education, increase student enthusiasm in learning, increase student interest in learning, train students to think critically, be active, responsible, dare to express opinions, and students can respect the opinions of others. Students are trained to be confident and polite towards older people or adults, besides that students are trained to contextualize the knowledge they have. (3) the obstacle faced is the lack of student activity, because students still seem shy and lack self-confidence.

Abstract

Islamic education is essentially oriented towards religious and worldly goals, namely to form a generation of robbani who are obedient to the laws of God, and are able to face all forms of life challenges that exist, so that their lives become benefits for themselves and their environment. which is always appropriate for every age and place, provides guidance and direction in all areas of life in general, as well as in the principles and concepts in the field of education in particular. Among them as contained in the luqman chapter 12-19 which gives details of the basic concept of Islamic education as a whole; includes aqeedah, sharia and morality.Keywords: Concept, Islamic Education, Al-Qur'an, Surah Luqman Verses 12-19.
