Abstract

This study aims to determine the extract of green cincau leaves (Cyclea Barbata Miers) as a corrosion inhibitor soaked in 3% NaCl corrosive medium. To determine the effect of concentration and temperature to connect steel, the average inhibitor is 0, 2, 4, and 6% and each temperature is 40  and 80 . To find out the measurements done by the method, save weight. Corrosion rate at immersion temperature is 40  lower than speed at 80  immersion temperature. To find out the phase formed and the structure of the sample in XRD and SEM-EDS characterization. The X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) characterization results show that the phase formed is pure Fe. XRD results showed that the lowest Fe peaks were formed on samples without inhibitors at 80 .The results of SEM characterization of PGDaun-80-6 steel also showed that it looked more corroded, and the PGDaun-40-2 sample looked slightly corroded. This result is reinforced by the percentage of corrosion products shown in the EDS results

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of papaya leaf extract (carica papaya l) as  inhibitor on st37 steel in corrosive medium nacl 3 %. To find out the corrosion rate resulted by weight reduction method. To know the phase formed on steel is done XRD analysis. While, to know the micro structure and corrosion products produced on steel after soaked in corrosive medium with inhibitor and without inhibitor papaya leaf extract, SEM and EDS analysis were performed. Based on the results of XRD analysis, SEM and EDS with the addition of inhibitors of the diffraction peaks decreased, and the corroded surface area decreased, and the reduction of FeO content in the sample wass less. From the three analyzes and calculation of corrosion rate obtained that inhibitor papaya leaf extract, effectively inhibiting the corrosion rate on St37 Steel

Abstract

A study has been conducted on the extract concentration effect of Maja Peel as an inhibitor of low carbon API 5L in corrosive medium of NaCl 3% and H2SO4 3%. The soaking process of low carbon API 5L was done for 35 days with variation of addition inhibitor concentrations at 0%, 0,4%, 0,5%, 0,6%, 0,7%, and 0,8%. The testing of Corrosion rate is done by weight loss method. The results showed that the highest corrosive rate in corrosive medium of NaCl 3% and H2SO4 3% was at 0% which is inhibitor concentration, 0,06 x 104 mm/y and 16,55 x 104 mm/yconcentration. Meanwhile, the lowest corrosion rate at 0.8% inhibitor concentration for corrosive medium ofNaCl 3% and 0.5%for H2SO43% corrosive medium. Hence, the greatest effectiveness of corrosion occurs at the concentration of 0.8% in a corrosive medium of NaCl 3% with effectiveness of  85,71% and 0.5% in corrosive medium of H2SO4 3% with the effectiveness of 79.35%. The characterization result of X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) shows that the phase formed is pure Fe. Characterization of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) showed uneven clusters and smaller sizes, holes and cracks also with less than 0.8% inhibitors for corrosive medium of NaCl 3% and 0.5% for corrosive medium of H2SO43% compared with 0% inhibitor of maja peel extract on corrosive medium ofNaCl 3% and H2SO4 3%. Abstract

Ekstrak kopi yang digunakan sebagai inhibitor pada sampel baja karbon AISI 1020, direndam dalam medium korosif NaCl 3%. Dengan memvariasikan waktu perendaman 4 hari dan 8 hari, dan juga konsentrasi inhibitor 0%, 3%, 5% dan 7%. Setelah perlakuan pada sampel diperoleh hasil perhitungan laju korosi yang paling lambat pada sampel AISI 1020 8.7 dan yang paling cepat pada sampel AISI 1020 4.0. Inhibitor yang digunakan mempunyai nilai efisiensi paling tinggi pada sampel AISI 1020 4.7. Hasil karakterisasi XRD menunjukkan bahwa struktur kristal yang terbentuk merupakan fasa Fe murni. Karakterisasi SEM menunjukkan morfologi permukaan sampel, terlihat gumpalan pada sampel. Karakterisasi EDS pada sampel terlihat unsur Oksigen (O) yang mengindikasikan bahwa sampel telah terkorosi.

Abstract

Telah direalisasikan Pengaruh Variasi Waktu Tahan Austenisasi dengan Pendinginan Cepat terhadap Kekerasan dan Ketangguhan Baja AISI 1045. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh waktu tahan austenisasi dengan variasi waktu tahan 0 menit, 15 menit, 25 menit, dan 40 menit dilanjutkan pendinginan cepat terhadap kekerasan dan ketangguhan Baja AISI 1045. Baja AISI 1045 diberi perlakuan panas menggunakan furnace dengan suhu austenisasi 830 oC, kemudian didinginkan cepat dengan air ± 3 detik. Baja AISI 1045 diuji menggunakan Universal Hardness Tester Rockwell C untuk uji kekerasan dan Mesin Uji Impak untuk uji ketangguhan. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa nilai kekerasan Baja AISI 1045 meningkat dan nilai ketangguhan menurun. Nilai rata-rata kekerasan terbesar diperoleh pada waktu tahan 40 menit sebesar 75,30±0,9 HRC. Nilai rata-rata ketangguhan terkecil diperoleh pada waktu tahan 40 menit sebesar 0,85±0,04 J/mm2.
