Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the need in designing English for Digital Marketing textbook based on collaborative learning. The approach employed in this study was research and development. The analysis technique applied was descriptive qualitative. Participants in this study were two lecturers who teach English courses for non-English study programs and 30 non-English program students majoring in Informatics and Information Systems. Need analysis was obtained through a questionnaire distributed to all participants. In addition, this study also conducted interviews with some of the participants to obtain a more comprehensive picture. The findings showed that all participants agreed that English for Digital Marketing textbook to be developed as it would be helpful for them in the teaching and learning process. The participants also suggested that the textbook should be not only applicable and close to the real conditions but also attractive. Abstract

Layanan informasi kepegawaian pada Badan Kepegawaian, Pendidikan, dan Pelatihan Kota Magelang masih dilakukan secara manual. Hal ini mendorong untuk dibangunnya sistem informasi yang dapat menjadi solusi dari permasalahan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun sistem informasi layanan kepegawaian berbasis bot telegram bagi ASN di Lingkungan Pemerintah Kota Magelang serta mengetahui tanggapan pengguna terhadap kemudahan dan kepuasan pelayanan pada Badan Kepegawaian, Pendidikan dan Pelatihan Kota Magelang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Pengembangan sistem waterfall dari Roger S. Pressman. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah dibangunnya sistem Informasi Layanan Kepegawaian Berbasis Bot Telegram bagi ASN di Lingkungan Pemerintah Kota Magelang yang mudah digunakan dan dapat meningkatkan kepuasan terhadap layanan kepegawaian pada Badan Kepegawaian, Pendidikan, dan Pelatihan Kota Magelang.

Abstract

The development of information technology requires the world of education to move towards the digital era in conveying various information. With the development of information technology, information can be accessed quickly and in real time. Website is one of the media information systems to convey information to the public via the internet quickly and easily. Madrasah profile information system development is needed to convey information to the public. The method used in developing information systems is the waterfall method because this method has components and sequences that are organized and systematic. So that in the process of developing information systems it is easier to monitor and control. While in the analysis of the design of information systems using Unified Modeling Language (UML). Ibtidaiyah Madrasah profile information system developed with the PHP programming language using the Codeigniter framework.

Abstract

This study attempts to develop an English for Digital Marketing textbook based on collaborative learning to support ESP teaching and learning process for non-English study programs especially those concerned in digital marketing. ADDIE model of research and development approach were employed. The stages included data collection and need analysis, textbook design, textbook development, implementation, and evaluation of the textbook use. Participants involved ESP lecturers, 30 students majoring in Informatics, and experts. The test results by the experts indicated validity level of 4.69 which means Very Good with feasibility level of the textbook to be used is 88.66% or Very Feasible. Whereas, the questionnaires distributed to students showed criteria of Very Good with validity level 4.68 and feasibility level of the textbook is 84% or Very Feasible. These results indicate that the textbook developed in this study can be utilized to support the teaching and learning process especially for ESP teaching.

Abstract

Even though they are native speakers of Indonesian, students are still not very proficient when faced with language skills tests, such as the Indonesian Language Skills Test (UKBI). Not only that, but also they find it difficult to learn a second language, namely English, especially when taking the TOEFL test. Data collection in this research used experimental techniques, namely testing class actions on students through language ability tests, UKBI and TOEFL. After the data is collected neatly and completely, the author will analyze it using contrastive descriptive analysis techniques. The contrastive analysis method is a technique needed to contrast two different languages, namely B.Ind and B.Ing. The results of this research are that from the results of tests of proficiency in both languages, the majority of students got minimal scores on the English syntactic structure section rather than Indonesian language questions. These structural errors include the placement of phrase elements; determining the core elements in a sentence; and the use of diction in language construction.Walaupun sebagai penutur asli bahasa Indonesia, mahasiswa masih belum mahir betul ketika dihadapkan pada ujian keterampilan berbahasa, seperti tes Ujian Keterampilan Berbahasa Indonesia (UKBI). Tak hanya itu, mereka pun merasa kesulitan dalam mempelajari bahasa kedua, yakni bahasa Inggris, apalagi saat melakukan tes TOEFL. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik eksperimental, yakni pengujian tindakan kelas kepada mahasiswa melalui tes kemampuan bahasa, yakni UKBI dan TOEFL. Setelah data terkumpul dengan rapi dan lengkap, penulis akan menganalisisnya dengan teknik analisis deskriptif kontrastif. Metode analisis kontrastif merupakan teknik yang diperlukan untuk mengontraskan dua bahasa yang berbeda, yakni antara B.Ind dengan B.Ing. Hasil penelitian ini adalah dari hasil uji kemampuan kedua bahasa, mayoritas mahasiswa mendapatkan skor minim pada bagian struktur sintaksis bahasa Inggris daripada soal bahasa Indonesia. Kesalahan struktur tersebut meliputi penempatan unsur frasa; penentuan unsur inti dalam kalimat; dan penggunaan diksi dalam suatu konstruksi bahasa.

Abstract

Non-native English speakers often face challenges in navigating the complex and specialized language used in AI literature. This study reports on the development of a textbook titled English for Artificial Intelligence, designed to address these challenges through a collaborative learning approach. This book is designed to bridge the gap by providing targeted language instruction tailored to the needs of AI professionals. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) methodology, the study followed the ADDIE model. Data were collected through simple random sampling involving 76 Informatics students, 2 ESP lecturers, a content and a layout expert during the needs analysis phase. The textbook primarily focuses on reading comprehension with supplementary activities in writing and speaking on the exercises. The validation stage, involving 20 students, ESP lectures, and subject matter experts, evaluated the textbook. Results showed that this textbook is Very Feasible to use for ESP teaching and learning. The feasibility aspects can also be seen from the scores given by students and experts, with 4.69 and 4.68 on average, respectively. The feasibility aspects cover content feasibility, presentation feasibility, language use, and graphic feasibility. The acceptance level for this book is 88% and 84% by the experts and students, respectively. These findings confirm that the textbook is both pedagogically sound and contextually appropriate, offering a practical solution for improving English proficiency among AI learners and contributing to more inclusive participation in the global AI discourse.
