Abstract

Abstract. The effect of Mg/La co-doping addition on the caracteristics of TiO2 as photoelectrode have been studied. This study aims to investigate the effect of Mg/La co-doping concentration on the characteristics of TiO2. This study aims investigate the effect of Mg/La co-doping concentration on the characteristics of TiO2. Mg/La was varied from 0% mol, 0.4 / 0.6% mol, and 0.6 / 0.4% mol. Synthesis of TiO2 co-doping Mg/La was done by sol gel method. The resulting of powder pure TiO2 and co-doping Mg/La was made to paste, and was deposited on a glass substrate with a size of 2.5 x 2.5 cm and sintered at 600°C for 1 hour. Mg / La co-doped TiO2 layers were characterized using XRD, UV-Vis, and FTIR spectrometers. The results showed that TiO2 was the mos dominan phase appeared in pure TiO2 sample. The phase of MgO, MgTiO3, Mg2TiO4, and La2O3 were found in Mg/La co-doped TiO2 samples. The crystal size of Mg/La co-doped TiO2 was varied from 8.85 to 7.70 nm. In this research, we obtained that the energy gap was varied from 3.52 to 3.5 eV depent on co-dopant concentration. FTIR measurement showed groups of Ti-O, Ti-O-Ti, Ti-O-O, and H-O.Keywords: Co-doping Mg/La, photoelectrode, Sol Gel method, TiO2.

Abstract

The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach is one of the learning approaches that is able to answer the challenges of education in the era of globalization, which demands that human resources must have quality in order to compete globally. To achieve this, STEM-based learning can help, and to achieve successful learning with this STEM approach, the teacher is an important factor, because teachers as teachers and educators influence student learning outcomes and skills. The success factor of teachers in implementing STEM is influenced by backgrounds such as gender, therefore this study aims to see how the level of attitudes, knowledge, and practices of teachers in implementing the STEM approach. This research is a quantitative descriptive study using a survey method. This research was conducted in Aceh Province, Indonesia. The population of this study were science teachers (teachers who teach science, biology, chemistry, and physics). The total sample in this study was 267 samples, the number of samples of male teachers was 87 and the number of samples of female teachers was 180. The research data were processed using percentages. The results showed that male teachers and female teachers had the same level of attitude, knowledge, and practice, namely at a high level towards the STEM approach in learning.

Abstract

AbstractObjective – This study aims to examine whether Return on Assets (ROA), Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR), Size, Net Interest Margin (NIM), and Deposit (DEP) have any influence on Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) of Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia for the period of 2015-2017. Design/methodology – The population in this study is all Islamic Commercial Banks operating in Indonesia for the period 2015-2017. The data was collected from financial statements of the Islamic Commercial Banks for the period of three years totalling of 36 observations. Multiple Linear Regression was used to analyse the data. Results – The results showed that Return on Assets (ROA) has a negative effect on Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR). Meanwhile financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) has a negative effect on Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) and size has a negative effect on Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR). Furthermore, net Interest Margin (NIM) has a positive effect on Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) and lastly Deposit (DEP) has a negative effect on Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR). Research limitations/implications – This study has limitations due to the short observation period of only 3 years from 2015 to 2017. Future studies are recommended to enhance this current study by embarking a longer period of study or by performing a comparative analysis between Islamic banks in different countries.
