Abstract

Kota Sibolga merupakan daerah kunjungan wisata bagi masyarakat Sumatera Utara karena memiliki potensi pulau-pulau kecil dan kelautan. Potensi sumberdaya hayati kelautan memiliki nilai ekologi dan ekonomi antara lain sumberdaya terumbu karang dan perikanan serta wisata bahari. Pulau-pulau yang berpotensi untuk pengembangan ekowisata bahari adalah Pulau Poncan Besar dan Pulau Poncan Kecil karena memiliki potensi terumbu karang untuk wisata selam dan snorkeling. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) mengidentifikasi kondisi terumbu karang di Pulau Poncan, tingkat, dan penyebab kerusakan terumbu karang; (2) menentukan jenis dan daya dukung wisata bahari yang dapat dikembangkan di Pulau Poncan; (3) mengetahui estimasi nilai ekonomi dari terumbu karang di Pulau Poncan; (4) membuat strategi pengembangan ekowisata bahari di Pulau Poncan. Metode pengambilan data untuk terumbu karang mengggunakan metode Line Intercept Transect (LIT), ikan karang (Underwater Visual Census), sosial dan ekonomi (Purposive/Incidental Sampling). Analisis yang digunakan antara lain persentase life form, kelimpahan individu ikan, matriks kesesuaian area untuk wisata snorkeling dan selam, Indeks Kesesuaian Wisata, daya dukung kawasan, tingkat kerusakan terumbu karang, total nilai ekonomi, serta analisis pengelolaan menggunakan SWOT. Kondisi terumbu karang di kedua pulau masuk dalam kategori sedang dengan rata-rata persentase 30.98%, dengan variasi tutupan antara 27.27-34.69%. Total kelimpahan ikan di Pulau Poncan sebanyak 47 019 ind/ha.Kata kunci: daya dukung, ekowisata, selam, snorkeling, strategi manajemen, terumbu karang.

Abstract

Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world which consists over 17,000 islands and has a coastline of 81,000km. The existence of natural resources the driving factors in making tourism. Sialang Buah beach is located at Sialang Buah village in Teluk Mengkudu district. Research on the tourism potential of mangroves at Sialang Buah village needs to be done to develop the area of eco-tourism aspect. The purpose of this research was to determine the potential and condition of the resource that can be performed and assess the appropriateness and the carrying capacity of mangrove ecosystems for the management of mangrove ecotourism. The research was conductedin June-July 2013at SialangBuah villagein Teluk Mengkudu district, SerdangBedagai city. Based on research, the mangrove ecosystem in Sialang Buah village is dominated by five species of mangrove, which Avicennia marina, Bruguiera cylindrica, Rhizophora apiculata, Sonneratia alba, and Xylocarpus granatum. The density value most species of great value is Rhizopora apiculata and Avicennia marina. Results obtained suitability index for tourist activities mangrove ecosystem in Sialang Buah Village included the category corresponding conditional (SB).There are two proposed location tracks, that waters track and the in lands. The value of the region carrying capacity of water track is 80 people per day and a land track is 160 people per day.Keywords: Ecotourism, Mangrove, Sialang Buah

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi potensi perikanan di wilayah pengelolaan perikanan (WPP) 571 Selat Malaka Provinsi Sumatera Utara serta memberikan gambaran kondisi sumberdaya perikanan di wilayah pengelolaan perikanan (WPP) 571 Selat Malaka Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang menggunakan pendekatan ekosistem dalam pengelolaan perikanan. Pendekatan ekosistem dalam pengelolaan perikanan dilakukan dengan menggunakan content analysis, di mana kajian difokuskan pada isi (content) keragaan pengelolaan perikanan di wilayah pengelolaan perikanan (WPP) dengan mengacu kepada kriteria indikator. Indikator yang digunakan adalah indikator habitat, indikator sumberdaya ikan, indikator teknis penangkapan ikan, indikator ekonomi, indikator sosial, dan indikator kelembagaan. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan multi-criteria analysis (MCA) di mana sebuah set kriteria dibangun sebagai basis bagi analisis keragaan wilayah pengelolaan perikanan yang sdilihat dari pendekatan ekosistem dalam pengelolaan perikanan melalui pengembangan indeks komposit. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dari 6 indikator yang dinilai, terdapat 3 indikator yang termasuk dalam kriteria baik yaitu indikator habitat, indikator sumberdaya ikan, dan indikator sosial, dengan nilai komposit masing-masing 213, 214 dan 233. Selanjutnya terdapat 2 indikator yang termasuk dalam kriteria sedang yaitu indikator teknis penangkapan ikan dan indikator kelembagaan, dengan nilai komposit masing-masing 183 dan 167. Sedangkan untuk indikator ekonomi termasuk dari kategori buruk dengan nilai komposit 125. Berdasarkan perhitungan agregat komposit seluruh indikator maka nilai rata-rata komposit adalah 189 atau termasuk dalam kategoti sedang.Kata Kunci : Pendekatan Ekosistem, Pengelolaan PerikananMalacca Strait North Sumatra province and provide an overview of the condition of fishery resources in the fishery management area (WPP) 571 Malacca Strait North Sumatra Province. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using an ecosystem approach to fisheries management. The ecosystem approach to fisheries management is done by using content analysis, in which the study is focused on the content (content) variability in the fisheries management fisheries management area (WPP) with reference to the indicator criteria. The indicator used is the habitat indicator, the indicator fish resources, fishing technical indicators, economic indicators, social indicators, and institutional indicators. Data analysis was performed using a multi-criteria analysis (MCA) in which a set of established criteria as a basis for variability analysis of the fishery management area sdilihat of the ecosystem approach in fisheries management through the development of a composite index. The results of this study showed that of the six indicators were assessed, there are three indicators that are included in both criteria are indicators of habitat, an indicator of fish resources, and social indicators, with a composite score of each 213, 214 and 233. Then there are two indicators that are included in criterion was that the technical indicators and indicators of institutional fishing, with a composite score of each 183 and 167. As for economic indicators including the poor category with a composite score of 125. Based on the calculation of the entire aggregate composite indicator of the average composite score is 189 or including the classes of being.Keywords: Ecosystem Approach, Management of Fisheries

Abstract

Seagrass is a coastal vegetation that has various ecological, social, and economic roles for marine biota and humans. However, until now there is little current information regarding the status and inventory Sarangbaung Island which is administratively located in North Nias Regency and geographically located in the Indian Ocean. This study aims to examine the distribution and status of seagrasses in the waters of Sarangbaung Island, North Nias Regency. The research was conducted in December 2022. Observations of seagrass were carried out using the line and square transect method of 0.5 m x 0.5 m which refers to the seagrasswatch method. In total, 3 species were found during this study namely Syringodium isoetifolium, Cymodocea rotundata, and Cymodocea serrulate. Seagrass density on Sarangbaung Island ranges from 53-728 ind/m2. Meanwhile, seagrass coverage is 82%, which indicated that seagrass was in a good category with rich/healthy conditions.
