Abstract

This research is motivated by the difficulties of students in interpreting Latin terms or scientific language in textbooks, the glossary in textbooks is not sufficiet to mees the needs of students in searching for scientific terms. Teachers have not developed a biology dictionary at SMA N 20 Merangin as teaching material. Thist studied aims to describe the process of developing an interactivet biology dictionary for SMA class X in the odd semester and to produce a valid and practical interactive biology dictionary. This types of research is a development research that uses 4-D which includes the stages of define, design, develop, and disseminate. The subjects of this study consisted of 7 validators consisting of 6 STKIP YPM Bangko lecturers and 1 biology teacher at SMA N 20 Merangin. The research instrument used a validation questionnaire and practicality, so the data were analyzed by descriptive analysis. Based on the results of this study, the resulting product is an interactive biology dictionary for tenth grade High School in ood semsters, the dictionary is declared valid by the validator as evidenced the result of the assessment obtained that the feasibility of content, language, presentation, graphics with an averages validity valuet of 95%. The dictionary has also been declared practical with an average gain of 3.51 so that the interactive biology dictionary has been declared valid and practical.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the absence of learning media such as Flash Card, the learning media used in schoolis only in the form of textbooks. The textbook used presents a slightly colored appearance, the material is not detailed and the images are few. The material of Phylum Echinodermata and Phylum Porifera doesn’t present the characteristics and sample images of each species of each class, from Phylum Echinodermata and Phylum Porifera. This study aims to describe the process of developing Flash Card media for Phylum Echinodermata and Phylum Porifera as Integrated Science learning media for class VII SMP Negeri 27 Merangin. This research is a development research that using 4-D which includes the stages of define, design, develop and disseminate. The subjects of this study consisted of 7 validators consisting of 5 STKIP YPM Bangko lecturers and 2 Integrated Science teachers at SMP Negeri 27 Merangin. This research instrument uses a validation questionnaire, then this data is analyzed by descriptive analysis. Based on the results of this study, a valid Integrated IPA Flash Card was produced. The resulting Integrated Science Flash Card was declared very valid by the validator both from the aspects of the feasibility of content, language, presentation and graphics with an average validity value of 94%. So it can be concluded that the Flash Card of Phylum Echinodermata and Phylum Porifera have been declared valid.

Abstract

This research is motivated by limited textbooks integrated science used by students in the learning process. This study aims to describe the prosess of developing an integrated science pocket book based on Learning cycle on material life organization system for seventh grade students of SMP/MTs which is valid and practical. Type of research is development research using the 4-D menthod which inclueds the stage an integrated science pocket book based Learning cycle was only carried out until the dissemination stage was limited to teacher. The subjects of this study consisted of 7 (seven) validators and practicality test was carried out by 2 teachers, then this data was analyzed by descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the reasearch, the product is pocket book. The pocket book was declared very valid and practical. The validator both from the aspects of the feasibility of content, language, presentation and graphics with a validity value of 95%. It’s means on very practical category. The pocket book produced was also deemed practical by the teacher in terms of ease of use, learning time, and attractiveness with an average value of 3.45. The concluded of research is the pocket book has been declared valid and practical.

Abstract

Textbooks used are few in number so that they do not attract students interest in learning. The high level of diversity of living things and the number of similar species make it difficult for students to distinguish primates from one species to another without learning media. Moreover teacher have never developed media such as puzzle in the learning process such as puzzle to increase student interest in learning biology. Puzzle media on primates material as a learning medium for biology class X SMA Negeri 17 Merangin. This research instrument uses a validation and practicality questionnaire. This a product in form of a valid and practical puzzle in terms value of 98% (valid) and was declared value of 4,00 (practical) by teacher. So, puzzle media on primate material has been declared valid and practical.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an Inquiry-based practicum guide in the General Biology course to strengthen General Biology trial or practicum skills further. The method used in this research is Research and Development. The results showed that this practicum guide was included in the very valid category with a percentage of 86, which was in the range of 81-100. In conclusion, the Inquiry-based practicum guide developed in General Biology courses is valid and can be used in other General Biology practicums that use the same material.
