Abstract

Perineal hygiene behavior is important to do to the young women in the early teens’ stage because the early teen is the initial stage of a person’s reproductive development. The study intended to determine the effect of perineal hygiene health education on knowledge, attitudes, and perineal hygiene action of young women at MTs Khairul Ummah Islamic Boarding School, Pasir Penyu District, Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau Province. This research was quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group design. The subject were 30 young women for each group (intervention and control) and taken by purposive sampling technique. The test result showed the influence of peer education health education methods on perineal hygiene behavior including knowledge with p-value 0.016, attitudes with p value 0.014, and action with p-value 0.001. This health education was recommended to the medic to carry out health promotion to improve the ability of perineal hygiene in young women. Keywords: behavior; perineal hygiene; health education; peer education ABSTRAK Perilaku perineal hygiene penting dilakukan kepada remaja putri pada tahap remaja awal karena remaja awal merupakan tahap awal dari perkembangan reproduksi seseorang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendidikan kesehatan perineal hygiene terhadap pengetahuan, sikap, dan tindakan perineal hygiene remaja putri di MTs Pondok Pesantren Khairul Ummah Kecamatan Pasir Penyu Kabupaten Indragiri Hulu Provinsi Riau. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian merupakan 30 remaja putri untuk tiap grup (intervensi dan control) dan diambil dengan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Hasil uji menunjukkan adanya pengaruh pendidikan kesehatan metode peer education terhadap perilaku perineal hygiene meliputi pengetahuan dengan p value 0,016, sikap dengan p value 0,014, dan tindakan dengan p value 0,001. Pendidikan kesehatan ini direkomendasikan kepada petugas kesehatan untuk melakukan promosi kesehatan guna meningkatkan kemampuan perineal hygiene pada remaja putri. Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus management compliance in the important aspect in controlling blood sugar levels. Compliance is inseparable from the knowledge and attitudes of individuals because these factors are the main drivers in shaping a behavior. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of patients with adherence to diabetes mellitus management in a specific polyclinic in RSUP DR. M. Djamil Padang. This research was conducted in a special clinic for internal medicine Dr. M. Djamil Padang. This research is a quantitative research with crosssectional -conducted on 49 respondents using the purposive Sampling. The results of statistical tests using the chi-square obtained p value, namely 0.031 and 0.000, which means that there is a significant relationship between knowledge and attitudes of patients with adherence to diabetes mellitus management. It is hoped that health services can improve patient compliance in diabetes mellitus management through optimal health education programs.

Abstract

Due to children's lack of knowledge and attitudes about how to save themselves during an earthquake, school-age children are one of the vulnerable groups who become the most victims during an earthquake. One of the efforts to minimize victims of school-age children during an earthquake is to provide self-rescue simulation training during an earthquake. This study aimed to describe the knowledge and attitude preparedness of school-age children in the face of an earthquake after being given a simulation of self-rescue during an earthquake in RW 02, Kelurahan Pasia Nan Tigo. This type of research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The sample in this study amounted to 32 school-age children using the total sampling technique. The data was collected by spreading questionnaires of knowledge and attitudes about self-rescue preparedness during an earthquake by LIPI/UNESCO/ISDR in 2006. The results showed that almost all School-age children understood self-rescue preparedness during an earthquake (84.4%), and most of them had positive behavior (75%). The recommended that the member of RW 02 Kelurahan Pasia Nan Tigo could collaborate with BPBD Padang City to hold regular self-rescue drills or simulations during earthquakes.
