Abstract

This research based on the problem on SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung, those are inappropriate learning model choices and low of students’ learning competencies. An efforts could done to solve it was implementation of problem based learning model charged with science literacy toward the students’ learning competencies on the topic of excretion system at XI grade of SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung. This research aimed to know the effects of Problem Based Learning (PBL) charged with science literacy toward the students’ learning competencies at XI grade of SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung. The type of this research was experimental research and designed on Control Group Posttest Only. The populations of this research were all of the students at grade XI MIPA of SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung academic years 2017/2018 that consisted of seven classes. This research used purposive sampling technique to take the samples; those are XI MIPA 3 as experiment group and XI MIPA 2 as control group. The research’s instruments used were test for cognitive competence and observation sheets for affective and psychomotor competence. Hypothesis was tested by using T-test method.Based on the thesis result by using t-test, it can be concluded that on students’ cognitive competence   tscore 4,15> table 1,67, on students’ affective competence tscore  5,07 > table 1,67, and on students’ psychomotor competence tscore 1,69 > table 1,67. It showed that hypothesis was accepted. So it can be concluded that the implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) charged science literacy model improved toward students’ learning competences at XI grade of SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung significantly with 0,05 degrees of truthiness.

Abstract

Communication skills need to be improved during learning. However, the learning process in schools has not fully implemented learning models that can improve students' communication skills. Learning in schools is still teacher-centered, lack of use of Information Technology (IT), students’ inactivity, and their lack of interest in learning in class. The solution is to apply the PBL learning model in IT interventions. The research objective was to develop students' communication skills. The instrument used is was a rubric to assess communication that had been validated by experts. The research design was Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design. This type of research is a quasi-experimental. The data were analyzed by using  the two-way ANOVA test. The results showed that there was a significant difference between the PBL learning model and the information technology intervention on the communication skills of students with an average score of 64.27% in the experimental class and 57.70% in the control class and a significant value of 0.00

Abstract

Model pembelajaran PBL mencirikan penggunaan masalah kehidupan nyata sebagai sesuatu yang harus dipelajari peserta didik untuk meningkatkan kompetensi belajar dan pemecahan masalah serta mendapatkan pengetahuan konsep-konsep penting. Literasi sains adalah kemampuan menggunakan pengetahuan dan berpikir secara ilmiah dalam upaya memecahkan masalah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian Randomized Control-Group Pretest-Posttest Design yang membandingkan hasil Pretest dan Posttest antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol. Pemilihan desain penelitian ini didasarkan pada tujuan penelitian yang membandingkan pencapaian kompetensi belajar peserta didik sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan sebagai tanda adanya pengaruh dari perlakuan yang diberikan. Hasil penelitian dan pembahasan dapat disimpulan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) bermuatan literasi sains dapat meningkatkan kompetensi pengetahuan peserta didik secara signifikan, penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) bermuatan literasi sains berpengaruh terhadap kompetensi sikap peserta didik secara signifikan dan penerapan model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) bermuatan literasi sains mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kompetensi keterampilan peserta didik secara signifikan.
