Abstract

Slaughterhouse wastewater generally contains organic substances, fatty oils and ammonia which can cause pollution to the environment. This study aims to analyze the removal efficiency of ammonia, oil and grease and pH of the slaughterhouse wastewater from Banda Aceh using an anaerobic biofilter. The bioreactor was acclimatized for 30 days to form a biofilm layer before being used as a biofilter. The results showed a decrease in the oil and grease content and pH of the slaughterhouse wastewater after given 6 days contacted time. Ammonia parameter increased by 2.02%, while the efficiency of oil and grease and pH also increased by 96.667% and 30.927%, respectively. It can be concluded that the anaerobic plastic media biofilter has been able to reduce the oil grease content and pH of slaughterhouse below the quality standard, except for ammonia which exceeds the quality standard of Environmental Government Regulation no. 5 of 2014.

Abstract

The municipal city has tried to provide the best solid waste services as possible, but the increase in these services does not necessarily increase public participation in managing waste. The objective of this research is to measure the performance of municipal solid waste management while Banda Aceh Indonesia. The research method uses the Zero Waste Index tool and community surveyed to get a more comprehensive picture of performance in overcoming waste problems. The results can be concluded that the Banda Aceh city government is still achieving a small Zero Waste Index which is 0.28. The majority of the population does not get waste socialization (76.07%), does not sort (75.21%), does not recycle waste (68.31%) and only 54.70% of the community collect used items for resale. The results of the two studies show that it is hard for Banda Aceh to achieve the goal of 30% waste reduction by 2025.

Abstract

Banjir rob merupakan salah satu permasalahan utama di wilayah pesisir Desa Pasir, Kabupaten Aceh Barat, yang dipengaruhi oleh pasang air laut, curah hujan tinggi, serta keterbatasan kapasitas sistem drainase. Kondisi tersebut menyebabkan genangan yang mengganggu aktivitas masyarakat, merusak infrastruktur, dan menurunkan kualitas lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merencanakan desain kolam polder sebagai infrastruktur pengendali banjir rob melalui analisis hidrologi dan evaluasi kapasitas tampungan. Data yang digunakan berupa data curah hujan harian maksimum tahunan selama 10 tahun (2016–2025) yang diperoleh dari Balai Wilayah Sungai Sumatera I Aceh. Analisis parameter statistik menghasilkan rerata curah hujan , standar deviasi , koefisien variasi , koefisien kemencengan , dan koefisien kurtosis . Analisis frekuensi dilakukan menggunakan Distribusi Gumbel dan Log-Pearson Type III, di mana uji Smirnov-Kolmogorov menunjukkan Distribusi Gumbel memenuhi syarat dengan selisih peluang maksimum  (0,1049 ).  Curah hujan rencana periode ulang 10 tahun sebesar  menghasilkan intensitas hujan Mononobe sebesar  24,62 mm/jam dan debit puncak limpasan metode Rasional sebesar  pada area layanan  (dimana koefisien limpasan ). Perencanaan kolam polder dilakukan berdasarkan volume total limpasan hidrograf sebesar . Kolam polder dirancang berdimensi panjang  dan lebar  dengan variasi kedalaman efektif  (kapasitas , efektivitas ) hingga  (kapasitas , efektivitas ). Sistem pemompaan dilengkapi dengan kapasitas total  yang terdiri atas dua unit pompa operasional (2x5m^3/s ) dan satu unit pompa cadangan (1x5m^3/s ) untuk meningkatkan keandalan operasional. Evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa kapasitas tampungan kolam polder sangat efektif mengendalikan volume limpasan rencana sehingga dapat menghilangkan potensi genangan di kawasan penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi salah satu alternatif perencanaan infrastruktur pengendali banjir rob di kawasan pesisir dengan karakteristik hidrologi serupa.
