Abstract

This research is based on the problems by science teachers, namely the daily test scores of students, more than 50% of students get scores below the minimum completeness criteria. The purpose of this study is (1) to reveal the presence or absence of differences in learning outcomes between students who are taught using a cooperative learning model type Group Investigation (GI) with students who are taught using conventional learning models, (2) reveal the presence or absence of scientific attitude differences, among students who are taught to use a cooperative learning model type of Group Investigation (GI) with students who are taught using conventional learning models. This research is an experimental study with the research Static Group Comparison Design. The subjects in this study were 8th grade students of the 11th Junior High School in Padang 2018/2019 in 64 students. The research instrument used was in the form of posttest for knowledge competencies, observation sheets for attitude and skills competencies. The hypothesis in this study was tested using the t ^ test. The results of the t-test are known that in the competency of knowledge t count 2.18> t table 2.04, the competency attitude t count 3.36> t table 2.04, while the competency skills t count 1.40 <t table. This shows that the hypothesis is accepted for knowledge and attitude competencies. So it can be concluded that the application of the Group Investigation learning model can improve student learning competencies in the material of Excretion Systems at Padang 11 Public Middle School with a confidence level of 0.975

Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of the low skills of problem solving students. In the learning process the teacher rarely trains students problem solving skills and currently Science literacy in Indonesia is low compared to other countries. The results of the preliminary test showed that the average problem solving skills of students was less than 50%. This study aims to look at the effect of the problem solving model on problem solving skills of grade VII students of SMPN 34 Padang. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with the Control Group Posttest Only Design. The study population was VII grade students of 34 SMPN Padang in the 2018/2019 academic year. The research sample of students in class VII 4 as the experimental class and VII 5 as the control class. Sampling using a porposive sampling technique. Instruments in the form of observation sheets observation of student activities to obtain data problem solving skills, observation sheets to obtain scientific attitude data, question sheets to obtain knowledge data. Based on the results of the students' knowledge competency research, the tcount 2,24> ttable 1,67. The activity of problem solving skills of students in the experimental class is higher than the control class. The conclusion of the study is that the application of the problem solving model has a positive effect on problem solving skills of grade VII students of SMPN 34 Padang.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the effect of Two Stay Two stray  model towards students' learning competencies, which still below from the average and  there have no learning process that pursue the students  to be active and creative until the students can increase their learning competencies; knowledge, attitude and skill  in learning process. The research was quasi-experimental reserach with control  group post-test only design. The population of this research was X IPA grade students that devided into five classes at SMAN 4 Pariaman in academic year 2018/2019. The sample was taken by purposive sampling technique which grade  X IPA3 as the experimental group and grade X IPA1 as the control group. The result of this research showed  the average score for grade X IPA3 was (75,43) for experimental group and  (67,57) for control group in students' learning competencies. Then for  behavioural competence the  average score in experimental group was (84,21) and the control group reached (81,86) which the data was distributed normally and variant homogeneously. In hyphotesis testing was found by the formula tcount> ttable, learning competency (3,15 > 1,67), behavioural competency (1,76 > 1,67).  Based on the result of the study, it can be concluded that the Two Stay Two Stray model give positive effect for the students' learning competencies in ecosystem at SMAN 4 Pariaman.
