Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the students ability in writing fable by using examples non examples model at class VII D SMP Negeri 6 Muaro Jambi Academic Year 2017/2018. This research used quantitative correlation approach. The population of the research was class VII D SMP Negeri 6 Muaro jambi. The sample of the research consisted of one class, 12 men and 18 women with total sample was 30 people. The data was collected by using pre-test by using conventional method and post-test by using examples non examples model. The result of the research shows that the value of tcount is 7.766. Meanwhile the value of ttable is required from table t with dk 28 and the siginicance () is 0,05. By comparing the value of tcount and ttable it is required tcount > ttable, it means Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of examples non examples model can be used in increasing the ability of the students in writing fable at class VII D SMP Negeri 6 Muaro Jambi with the mean score of post-test is 82.63 higher that the mean of pre-test 70.20. Keywords: writing, fable, model examples non examples

Abstract

This research is aimed at describing the meaning and total meaning of referential meaning that is used in educational rubric in the newspaper Jambi EkspresMarch edition 2017. This research is qualitatve descriptive. The function of this method is to simplify and to solve things with empiric evidence. The subject of this research is education rubric which is taken randomly by using simple random sampling. The data is collected by using libarary study and documentation technique. The data is analyzed by using steps, they are data reduction, data serving, data triangulation, and conclusion. The result of the analysis shows that there 14 quotes of referential meaning in the education rubric in Jambi Ekspresnewspaper March 2017 edition. .Key Words: referential meaning, education rubric, jambi ekspress

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the ability of students to write fantasy stories using the Mind Mapping model in class VII. A students at SMP Negeri 24 Tanjung Jabung Timur Academic Year 2018/2019. The type of research used was class action research and analyzed descriptively. The research subjects were all students of class VII.A with a total of 21 people consisting of 10 men and 11 women. The study uses total sampling. Data collection techniques are carried out with non-tests and tests. Data were analyzed using qualitative analysis techniques, using criteria scales and analyzed results presented in the form of numbers and explained in the form of a description. Based on the analysis carried out, it was obtained that the average value in cycle one was 69.28 enough but did not meet the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) Indonesian subjects for individual completeness were 73, while the average value in the second cycle was 80, 57 is good and has met the minimum completeness criteria (KKM) of Indonesian language subjects. Thus the Mind Mapping model can be used in learning to write fantasy stories. Keywords: writing, fantasy story, mind mapping model

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan kemampuan menulis teks berita antara siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dengan siswa yang diajar menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional; (2) mendeskripsikan kemampuan menulis teks berita antara siswa berkemampuan awal tinggi  yang diajar menggunakan model kooperatif tipe STAD dengan yang diajar menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional; (3) mendeskripsikan kemampuan menulis teks berita antara siswa berkemampuan awal rendah yang diajar menggunakan model kooperatif tipe STAD dengan yang diajar menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional; dan (4) mendeskripsikan interaksi antara model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan kemampuan awal terhadap kemampuan menulis teks berita siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 24 Jambi.Jenis penelitian adalah kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen factorial 2x2. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 24 yang terdiri atas 6 kelas.  Sampel penelitian adalah kelas VIIIA untuk kelas eksperimen dengan jumlah 40 siswa dan kelas VIIIB untuk kelas kontrol dengan jumlah 38 siswa. Penetapan sampel yang ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling. Data kemampuan menulis teks berita siswa diperoleh menggunakan tes unjuk kerja dan dianalisis menggunakan uji Anava dua arah.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD mempengaruhi kemampuan menulis teks berita siswa. Pengaruh tersebut dapat dijelaskan sebagai berikut. Pertama, kemampuan menulis teks berita siswa yang diajar menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD lebih baik dari siswa yang diajar menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Kedua, kemampuan menulis teks berita siswa berkemampuan awal tinggi yang diajar menggunakan model kooperatif tipe STAD lebih baik dari siswa yang diajar menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Ketiga, kemampuan menulis teks berita siswa berkemampuan awal rendah yang diajar menggunakan model kooperatif tipe STAD lebih baik dari siswa yang diajar menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Keempat, tidak terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan kemampuan awal terhadap kemampuan menulis teks berita siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 24 Jambi.

Abstract

This research is intended to identify the students ability in converting report text to a poetry that was taught by using discovery learning. This research is quantitative with quasi experimental design. The population of this research is students of class X MIPA SMA Negeri 10 Kota Jambi. In collecting sample, random sampling is used, in which class X MIPA1 is experiment class and class X MIPA 2 is a control class. The technique of collecting the data is test. The data is analyzed by using pretest analysis, normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test. The result of the research shows that the mean score of experiment class is 75,00 and the mean score of control class is 71,80. The hypothesis test is calculated by using SPSS 20. T-test of two samples is gained with t-count 0,049 < 0,05 in which Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Based on the result of the analysis, it can be concluded that students ability in converting report text into poetry can be taught by using discovery learning compared with those students who tried to convert the report text into poetry with direct learning model.Key Words: report text, poetry, discovery learning

Abstract

This research is aimed at identifying the use of suggestion-imagination model towards anecdote writing. This research is quantitative. The design of this research is pretest and posttest group. The population of this research is class X MIPA 3 students of SMA Negeri 10 Kota Jambi. The sampel is taken by using purposive sampling. Test is used in collecting the data. There are two tests are used, they are; pretest and posttest. The data are analyzed by using normality test, and homogeneity test is used to find the result of hypothesis. The research result shows that the mean of posttest is 67,18 and pretest is 58,59. The hypothesis test is used for t-test in which tcount is 7,857 and ttable is 2,353. It means that this result is equivalent with the criterion in which Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So it can be concluded that suggestion-imagination model has significant influence towards students of class X MIPA 3 in writing anecdote inSMA Negeri 10 Kota Jambi Academic Year 2016/2017. Hence, the suggestion-imagination model can be used in learning anecdote writing.Key Words : suggestion-imagination, writing, anecdote.

Abstract

This research is aimed at describing the use of repetition words from the aspect of form, process, and meaning. This research is qualitative descriptive. The data is taken from the quotation of words which are required from data source. The data source is the native speaker of Jambi Malay who live in Niaso village Kecamatan Maro Sebo Kabupaten Muaro Jambi. The data is collected by using observation,  listening, speaking, and writing. The data is analyzed by using direct technique. The result of this research shows that there are 4 reduplications, namely (1) whole reduplication, (2) half reduplication, (3) affixes reduplication, (4) change of phoneme reduplication. Abstract

This research is intended to describe students ability in wiring poetry by using a picture of their idols in class VII A SMP Negeri Satu Atap Petaling Academic Year 2016/2017. This research uses quantitative descriptive method. The data is taken from students poetry in decribing their idols. This researh uses quantitative analysis. The data analysis is counted by using the percentage of students assessment in writing poetry. The data of the research is 25 students. Based on students result in writing poetry by describing their idols at class VII A SMPN Satu Atap Petaling Academic Year 2016/2017, it can be seen that there are 3 students who got 87,5 who fall into good category; there is 1 student who got 81,25 tat falls into very good category; there are 9 students who got 75 that fall into good category; there are 6 students who got 68,75 hat fall into good categroy; and there are 6 students who got 62,5 that fall into fair category. From those 25 students, the total score is 289 with the total score is 1806,5, and the mean is 72,25 that falls into good category. Hus, students ability in writing poetry in decribing their idols at class students of VII A SMP Negeri Satu Atap Petaling Academic Year 2016/2017 fall into good category.Key Words : ability, writing poetry, picturing idols.
