Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe and archive Feminist character in the novel Perempuan Itu Bermata Saga by Agust Dapa Loka. This research is descriptive qualitative which solves the problems by describing and interpreting the objects in the form of social phenomenon on people’s lives based on their reality. By using this kind of research, the research can describe data that are related to feminist aspects in the novel Perempuan Itu Bermata Saga by Agust Dapa Loka. The result of this research indicates that there are 45 eppressions which represent feminist aspects. There are 20 expressionswhich are related to well attitude in the novel Perempuan Itu Bermata Saga  by  Agust Dapa Loka. There are 15 expressions which are related to patience and sincere attitude. There are 10 expressions which are related to sacrifice attitude of the wife character. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that there are 50 expressions of feminism representation in the novel Perempuan Itu Bermata Saga  by Agust Dapa Loka and the most dominant aspect occured in the novel is sincere attitude of 20 expressions.

Abstract

This research is aimed at describing the protagonist character in the film Kartini by  Hanung Bramantyo. This research is descriptive. The result of the research shows that: (1) the aspect of generosity found in the novel Kartini which means that she likes to give a help to other people. (2) the aspect of honesty found in the character Kartini who likes to be honest to other people. (3) the aspect of sincerity which means that she likes to be sincere towards people who give her compliments as if she is not a person with reputation while she is. (4) the aspect of smart in which she always knows how to make a decision to solve problems. (5) the aspect of independence in which she always tries to send scholarship proposal to continue her study in Netherlands without bothering others. (6) the aspect of loyalty to friends in which she (7) the aspect of defence in which she always defends and fights for woman’s and she is brave to say the truth whenever she faces problems. Based on the result of the analysis, it can be found that the most dominant aspect is sincerity and defend. Meanwhile the less dominant aspect is generosity and independence.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the process of loan element in adopting the novel Ayat-Ayat Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy, the forms of loan element in the adoption process of the novel Ayat-Ayat Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy, the meaning of the loan element in the adoption process of Ayat-Ayat Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. This research is qualitative descriptive which describes the quotation or expression in the novel Ayat-Ayat Cinta by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. The data used in this research is primary data which is adopted through the process of adoption and adaptation in the novel Ayat-Ayat Cinta bby Habiburrahman El Shirazy. From the result of the research, it can be concluded that there are 210 expressions of loan element which is derived from English and Arabic language through the process adoption and adaptation. From the process of adoption, there are 57 quotations which derives from 25 quotations of English and 32 quotations of Arabic language. Meanwhile the total of process adaptation is 153 quotations in which 116 quotations is from English and 37 from Arabic language. Those 57 quotations of adoption has denotative meaniang in which 25 of the quotations is from English and 32 quotations is from Arabic language. Moreover, it is found that the denotative meaning from adaptation proses is 153 quotations in which 116 quotations is from English and 32 quotations is from Arabic language.

Abstract

The lack of students ability in understanding reading texts show that the students are not able to understand reading comprension learning. This is why some efforts are made to increase the students learning process and by using CIRC Cooperative Model. This research is intended to identify the success of CIRC cooperative model application in increasing the quality of students learning process and outcome in reading comprehension of Class VIII students of SMP Purnama 3 Kota Jambi. This research is Classroom Action Research. The location of the research is SMP Purnama 3 Kota Jambi. The total number of the students is 23 students. This research consists of two cycles, in which every cycle uses planning, action, observation, and reflection. The instrument of the research is observation sheets, field note, questionnaire, and test. The technique of analyzing data is by using data reduction, data presenting, and conclusion. While the data of students learning quality is taken from mean formulae. The result of the research is that the application of CIRC cooperative model makes the process of learning becomes interesting, fun, and having contribution because the students show their active response in learning process. The students become autonomous, creative, and aware in thinking and solving problems in reading. In cycle I, the students are in enough criterion (71,5%) and in cycle II it is increasing to good criterion (82%). The mean score of cycle I is 71,25 which falls in enough criterion and the score in cycle II is increasing to 82 which falls to good criterion. Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that the application of CIRC cooperative model is useful in increasing the quality of learning process and learning outcome of students reading comprehension. The research suggests to those especially to the teacher of Indonesian language and art of Junior High School who happen to have the same problem can apply this model as a reference on the same research. In contrast, the classroom action research by using CIRC cooperative model need a further investigation by using innovative development.Keywords: CIRC Cooperative Model, Learning Quality, Reading Comprehension
