Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the aspect of  protagonist character in the novel Saat Hati Telah Memilih. The aspect of the protagonist in the character of Riri in the novel Saat Hati Telah Memilih  represents the aspect of honest, humble, clever, independent and defender. This research is qualitative research. This research is used to understand phenomenon in the subject of the research by the decription of words and language by using the data. The data is in the forms of quotations of aspect of protagonist character Riri in the novel Saat Hati Telah Memilih. The result of the research is the description of some aspects of protagonist character of Riri in the novel Saat Hati Telah Memilih. From the total of 52 quotations, it can be found that there are 11 expressions of honesty aspect, 25 expressions of humble aspect, 8 expressions of smart aspect, 3 expressions of independent aspect, and 5 expressions of defender aspect. The most dominant aspect of the protagonist character is considerate, humble, generous, and care.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the card sort learning model towards students class VII C writing skill at SMP Negeri 5 Kota Jambi. This research is Quasi eksperiment by using quantitative approach. This research used 1 experimental class which consists of 36 students by using Liliefors test. The requirement test used in this research is normality and homogeinity test. The result of normality pre-test  is -92,48 and post-tes is -432 and the homogeinity score is 0,57 which is higher than significant = 0,05. It means that the data is normal and homogen so that hypothesis test can be tested. Hypothesis test is done by using t test formula. The result shows that the score of  is 1,859 which is higher that the score of  1,000 with significant  = 0,05 with dk 36. It can be concluded that there is a significant correlation between the use of Card sort learning model towards students class VII C writing skill at SMP Negeri 5 Kota Jambi in which the mean category is 93,33 more higher than the mean of pre-test 76,80 Keywords:  The Effect, Card Sort, Poetry Writing

Abstract

This research aims to describe the impact of of quantum learning model towards students ability in writing poetry at class X of accounting major SMK Negeri 2 Jambi City school year 2018/2019. The design of this research uses quasi experiment with a quantitative approach. Sampling was carried out using the purposive sampling technique of the X-grade students of SMK Negeri 2 Jambi City. It is obtained that class X of accounting 2 as the experimental class and class X of accounting 3 as the control class. The research results show that the average score of the experimental is 80.42 and the average score of control class is 74. After testing the normality test, the experimental class sig score is 0.170 > 0.05 and the control class sig score is 178 > 0.05 (significance level). Thus it can be concluded that the data of the two classes is fall intro category of normal distribution. From the homogeneity test, it is obtained that sig score is 0.462 > of a significant level (α = 0.05) Thus it can be concluded that both classes have the same or homogeneous variants. Hypothesis testing uses SPSS 20 applications. T test of two independent samples shows that SIG T count 0,043 < 0.05 then Ho is rejected Ha is received. So, the results of students ability in writing poetry at class X of Accounting at SMK Negeri 2 Jambi city that use quantum learning model is better than the learning outcomes of students who use conventional learning.

Abstract

This research is aimed at identifying the use of picture media towards students class VII in writing foelk poetry in SMP Negeri 6 Kota Jambi. This research is quasi experiment. There are two classes used in this research, they are class VII A which consists of 35 students as control class and class VII B consists of 34 students as experiment class. Normality test, homogenity test are used in counting the mean of the result. Hte result of normality test from control class is Lcount = 0,9534 and in experiment class Lcount = 0,9629, while homogenity test is 1,38 and the test similiraity shows 0,162 bigger than significat  = 0,05. It means that this research is homogen and falls into the same condition. The result of the research shows that the value of tcount =2,164 bigger that ttable= 1,99601with significant  = 0,05 with dk 67. It can be concluded that picture media has a significant effect towards students class VII in writing foelk poetry in SMP Negeri 6 Kota Jambi.Key Word : picture media, writing foelk poetry

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) Describe the ability to write news text students are taught using STAD type cooperative learning model and students are taught using direct learning model; (2) Describe the ability to write high-priority student-language text texts that are taught using STAD-type cooperative models and are taught using direct learning models; (3) Describe the ability to write low-priority student-language text texts that are taught using STAD-type cooperative models and are taught using direct learning models, and (4) Describe the interaction of cooperative learning model type STAD and initial ability to the ability to write news text of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 24 Jambi. The type of this research is quantitative with 2x2 factorial experimental designs. The population of the research is the students of class VIII SMP Negeri 24 consisting of 6 classes. The sample of this research is class VIIIA for experiment class with 40 students and class VIIIB for control class with 38 students. Sample determination is determined by purposive sampling technique. The data of students' news text writing capability was obtained using performance test and analyzed using two ways Anova test. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that STAD type cooperative learning model affects the ability to write student news text. The effect can be explained as follows. First, the ability to write news texts of students taught using STAD type cooperative learning model is better than students taught using direct learning model. Second, the ability to write high-priority students' text news taught using STAD type cooperative models is better than students taught using direct learning models. Third, the ability to write low-priority students' text taught using STAD type cooperative models is better than students being taught using direct learning models. Fourth, there is no interaction between STAD type cooperative learning model and initial ability to write news text skills of students of class VIII SMP Negeri 24 Jambi.Keywords: Writing News Texts, Cooperative Learning, Direct Learning
