Abstract

Penelitian berjudul Respon Pertumbuhan Bibit Kopi Robusta (Coffea robusta L) Terhadap Pemberian Pupuk Organik Cair Limbah Industri dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan, Politeknik Negeri Ketapang, Kabupaten Ketapang, Kalimantan Barat pada Juli  sampai September 2020. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui manfaat pemberian konsentrasi yang berbeda dari POC limbah industri tahu terhadap pertumbuhan bibit kopi robusta. Menggunakan jenis penelitian Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan, yaitu : K0 = 0%, K1 = 25%, K2 = 50%, K3 = 75%, dan K4 = 100%. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA, jika berpengaruh nyata maka dilanjutkan dengan uji DMRT pada taraf α = 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian POC limbah industri tahu berpengaruh nyata pada parameter tinggi bibit, jumlah daun, panjang akar, berat basah dan berat kering, namun tidak berbeda nyata pada pertambahan diameter batang. Konsentrasi terbaik untuk pertumbuhan bibit kopi robusta adalah 75%.

Abstract

Buah pisang nipah termasuk buah klimakterik yang  pematangannya akan berlangsung cepat jika disimpan pada suhu ruang. Penyimpanan suhu rendah merupakan salah satu teknik memperpanjang umur simpan buah pisang namun dapat menyebabkan  kerusakan berupa pencokelatan kulit buah yang dikenal sebagai salah satu gejala chilling injury. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang pengaruh pengukusan dalam menurunkan gejala chilling injury serta mempertahankan mutu buah pisang nipah yang disimpan pada suhu rendah. Percobaan dilakukan menggunakan  rancangan acak lengkap dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari pengukusan pada suhu 42oC selama 15 menit, 48oC selama 10 menit, 100oC selama 30 detik dan tanpa pengukusan. Parameter pengamatan terdiri dari indeks chilling injury, susut bobot, kekerasan buah dan total padatan terlarut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan pengukusan dapat mengurangi gejala chilling injury dan dapat mempertahankan buah pisang selama 15 hari penyimpanan. Pengukusan pada suhu 100oC selama 30 detik merupakan perlakuan terbaik. Perlakuan pengukusan tidak menurunkan kandungan total padatan terlarut dan berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap peningkatan susut bobot serta penurunan kekerasan buah pisang nipah. Steaming to Reduce the Symptoms of Chilling Injury and Maintaining Quality of  Banana CV. NipahNipah banana is a kind of climacteric fruit which is the ripening can be faster if its storage at room temperature. Low temperature storage is a way to prolong shelf-life but can caused peel browning, known as chilling injury symptom. This study was aiming to get information about steaming decreased chilling injury symptom and maintaining nipah banana quality at low temperature. The experiment was arranged in a randomized complete design with 4 treatments and 3 replication. Nipah bananas were steamed at 42oC 15 minutes, 48oC 10 minutes, 100oC 30 seconds and unsteamed. Chilling injury index, weight lost, firmnes and total soluble solid were measured. The result showed that steaming treatments decreased chilling injury symptom and maintained Nipah banana until 15 days storage. Steaming on 100oC,30 seconds was more effective to alleviate chilling injury symptom than others. No significant effect were found on weight loss, firmness and total soluble solid.

Abstract

Peatland is one type of wetland ecosystem that has a low fertility level. Efforts that can be made to increase the nutrient content of peat soils are adding organic fertilizers. Palm Oil Mill Liquid Waste (LCPKS) is one of the organic fertilizers that has a high organic matter content. LCPKS contains a number of nutrients : N, P, K, Ca and Mg. The research method used was experimental with a completely randomized design. The treatment consisted of giving LCPKS with a dose of: 0 mL/polybag (L1); 100 mL/polybag (L2); and 200 mL/polybag (L3) repeated 5 times. Parameters observed consisted of soil pH before and after adding LCPKS, stem diameter, number of leaves, plant height and root dry weight. Based on the results of analysis of variance, LCPKS administration had a significant effect on plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves and pH value. The results of the BNT test showed that giving LCPKS 200 mL/polybag gave the best results on all observation parameters.

Abstract

Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) is an important commodity as the main ingredient for sugar production. Good sugarcane growth will produce high sugar yields so that sugar production also increases. Seed maintenance is one of the important stages in preparing good plants, especially fertilization. Oil palm empty fruit bunches residual mushroom (TKSJ) are one of the solid wastes produced from processing palm oil mills and can be used as an organic fertilizer. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of giving TKSJ on the growth of sugarcane seedlings in peat soil media. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications, namely without TKSJ compost (K0); TKSJ 25% (K1); TKSJ 50% (K2); TKSJ 75% (K3) and TKSJ 100% (K4). Observation parameters consisted of leaf length (cm) and root wet weight (g). The data were analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Abstract

ABSTRAC Provision of seeds with the single bud chips method has the benefit of being more efficient in reducing the area of ​​the nursery. In order to support the growth of single bud chips sugarcane seedlings in nurseries, bamboo root PGPR was given which made it easier for P to dissolve in the soil so that it was easily absorbed by plant roots. P element in the soil is needed by plants to meet plant nutrition so that if the P element needs are met, the plant will grow well. This study aims to determine the volume, frequency of application and interaction of bamboo root PGPR on the growth of single bud chips sugarcane seedlings. The study used a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 15 treatments and 3 replications. The first factor is the volume of PGPR bamboo roots (K) which consists of five levels as follows: K0 = control/without PGPR, K1 = PGPR volume 5 mL/tan, K2 = PGPR volume 10 mL/tan, K3 = PGPR volume 15 mL /tan, K4 = Volume of PGPR 20 mL/tan. The second factor is the frequency of application (F) which consists of three levels as follows: F0 = 1 watering, F1 = 2 watering, F2 = 3 watering. The volume of PGPR bamboo roots as much as 15 mL/plant with a frequency of PGPR application of 2 times watering is the optimal provision for the growth of single bud chips sugarcane seedlings. Abstract

Cocoa seeds are seeds that have easy germination properties or are called recalcitrants. The technique of storing recalcitrant seeds cannot be dried below a critical moisture content, germinates easily and is not tolerant of low temperatures, so it is necessary to modify storage using sawdust storage media so that the seeds remain of good quality. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of various doses of sawdust on the shelf life of cocoa seeds. Besides that, it also knows the best treatment of various doses of sawdust that can increase the shelf life of cocoa seeds. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 6 replications so that there were 36 experimental units. Parameters observed consisted of seed moisture content during storage, moldy seeds in storage and percentage of germination in seeding. Observational data were analyzed using ANOVA. If the results have a significant effect, then continue with the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) test at a level of 5%. The results showed that the best sawdust storage medium was 180 grams (A5) which could reduce the percentage of moldy seeds in storage.

Abstract

Young coconut water can be used as a basic ingredient in making herbicide formulas. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the concentration of the herbicide glyphosate and fermented air in controlling weeds in oil palm plantations yielded and to determine the most effective concentration in controlling weeds in oil palm plantations. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) which was arranged in a factorial manner. The first factor is the concentration of the herbicide combination (H) consisting of: H1 = concentration of 2 ml glyphosate + 200 ml fermented coconut water, H2 = concentration of 4 ml glyphosate + 100 ml fermented coconut water. The second factor is the dose given (D), namely: D1 = 0.2 l/8 m2, D2 = 0.4 l/8 m2 and D3 = 0.6 l/8 m2. Each treatment was repeated 3 times. The data obtained were analyzed statistically by Analysis of Variances (ANOVA). If it has a significant effect, it will be continued with Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the 5% level. The results showed that the use of a combination of the herbicide glyphosate and fermented air was effective, the most effective concentration in controlling weeds in oil palm plantations resulted in a concentration of 2 ml glyphosate + 200 ml fermented young coconut water.

Abstract

Rubber plants (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg) have an important role for the Indonesian economy, where the area of ​​rubber plantations in Indonesia reaches 3.6 million hectares. The low productivity of rubber plants in Indonesia, it is necessary to increase the productivity of rubber through the provision of seeds for the propagation of rubber plants. The use of POC in Gamal leaves can encourage good rootstock growth with optimal roots, because Gamal leaf tissue contains 3.15% N, 0.22% P, 2.65% K, 1.35% Ca and 0.41% Mg. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of giving Gamal leaf POC on rubber rootstock seedlings of clone PB 260. This research was conducted in the experimental garden of the Ketapang State Polytechnic, Jl. Rangga Sentap Dalong, Sukaharja Village, Delta Pawan sub-district, Ketapang district, West Kalimantan, from October 2021 to January 2022 at the Ketapang State Polytechnic. This study used a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 4 replications with 3 plant samples so that 72 seedlings were obtained. Observation parameters included plant height (cm), number of umbrellas (strands), stem diameter (mm), root length (cm), plant dry weight (g). The results showed that the administration of POC of Gamal leaves on rubber rootstock seedlings treated with P5 (400 mL of POC of Gamal leaves + 500 mL of water/polybag) was able to increase the growth of plant height, stem diameter and root length.
