Abstract

Saccharin extraction and analysis of drug and food samples was investegated by spectrophotometry ultraviolet (uv) derivative method were studied. The saccharin extraction was carried out using solvent of ethanol/chloroform (2:8 v/v). The limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) of the proposed method were  0.50 ppm and 1.82 ppm for the second order and 0.47 ppm and 1.58 ppm for the fourth, while for the zero order were 2,75 ppm and 8,55 ppm. The calibration curve was linear in the concentration range from 20-100 ppm (R2= 0.996 for the second order and R2=0.997 for the fourth). The percent recovery of saccharin was in the range 95.20-104.40% for the second order and 97.20-102.40% for the fourth. The range of saccharin concentration (w/w) in drugs, candies and toothpaste for the fourth derivative were 1.39±0.02 mg/kg until 7.15±0.05 mg/kg, 0.21±0.01 mg/kg until 2.09±0.01 mg/kg, and 0.15±0.03 mg/kg until 0.63±0.04 mg/kg, respectively.

Abstract

Salah satu faktor yang menghambat produktivitas kelapa sawit yaitu gulma, karena pengaruh gulma tidak terlihat secara langsung dan umumnya berjalan lambat. Metode pengendalian secara kimiawi dengan menggunakan herbisida dianggap sebagai metode paling mudah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dosis herbisida yang efektiv serta mengetahui tingkat kematian gulma setelah aplikasi herbisida isopropilamina glifosat pada perkebunan kelapa sawit belum menghasilkan (TBM). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada area perkebunan kelapa sawit belum menghasilkan (TBM) di perkebunan desa Pelang, Kabupaten Ketapang, Provinsi Kalimantan Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) dengan 6 perlakuan serta 4 ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa herbisida isopropilamina glifosat mampu menekan pertumbuhan gulma. Berdasarkan hasil uji duncan multiple range test (DMRT) perlakuan terbaik dalam pengendalian gulma di tanaman kelapa sawit belum menghasilkan yaitu pada dosis 2,00 l/ha, mampu menekan pertumbuhan gulma secara efektif dengan konsentrasi 1,7 % dalam menurunkan bobot kering gulma total pada 2 dan 6 MSA di tanaman kelapa sawit belum menghasilkan (TBM).

Abstract

Pemanfaatan lahan gambut sebagai lahan perkebunan memerlukan perhatian khusus dan manajemen yang tepat karena pengembangan perkebunan sangat tergantung pada status kesuburan tanah. Konversi lahan gambut menjadi perkebunan berdampak pada ekosistem gambut asli. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari perubahan sifat kimia lahan gambut yang dikonversi menjadi perkebunan sawit dan mempelajari dampak dari alih fungsi lahan gambut menjadi perkebunan sawit pada berbagai usia tanam terhadap perubahan sifat kimia tanah. Penelitian yang dilakukan ialah penelitian observasi. Lokasi pengambilan sampel ada di 4 titik di daerah sungai melayu, yaitu lahan gambut murni, kebun kelapa sawit usia 2 tahun, 8 tahun dan 16 tahun. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh data bahwa kandungan beberapa sifat kimia tanah mengalami perubahan, baik itu nilai pH, KTK, C-organik, N-total, P- tersedia dan Kation basa (K, Ca, Mg dan Na). Peningkatan pH lahan gambut yang dikonversi menjadi perkebunan kelapa sawit sebesar 0,1-0,4%. Sedangkan untuk nilai KTK, C-organik, N-total, P- tersedia dan Kation basa mengalami penurunan dengan harga yang bervariasi. Alih fungsi lahan gambut menjadi perkebunan sawit sangat berpengaruh pada kesuburan tanah. Perlakuan pemupukan sebagai upaya pengembalian hara yang terangkut oleh tanaman saat panen tidak berlangsung dengan optimal. Dengan demikian, perlu adanya upaya perbaikan hara tanah agar kondisi tidak semakin buruk. Kata kunci: Alih fungsi, Lahan Gambut, Sawit, Kimia

Abstract

Profesionalisme merupakan salah satu kompetensi yang harus dimiliki seorang guru atau tenaga pendidik. Untuk menjadi professional, seorang guru dituntut untuk dapat selalu memperdalam pemahaman dan mengasah kemampuan terutama dalam menulis dan menerbitkan artikel ilmiah. Hanya saja, kondisi di lapangan khususnya di daerah 3T menunjukkan masih terdapat guru yang belum memiliki pengetahuan dan keahlian dalam menyusun tulisan ilmiah. Kendala tersebut tentunya menghambat karir guru tersebut. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman sekaligus keterampilan para guru di SMP PGRI 3 Sungai Awan Kiri Kabupaten Ketapang tentang cara menulis dan menerbitkan karya tulisan ilmiah. Pelatihan dilaksanakan secara tatap muka bersama dengan 15 peserta melalui metode ceramah, diskusi, dan asistensi. Kegiatan yang telah dilaksanakan ini menunjukkan hasil yang cukup memuaskan. Hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan respon positif para peserta melalui hasil angket kepuasan yang dibagikan pada akhir pelatihan serta adanya satu artikel peserta yang berhasil terbit pada jurnal yang mengindikasikan peningkatan kompetensi menulis para guru tersebut.

Abstract

This study performed the synthesis of sodium silicate from the volcanic ash of Mount Kelud with various stirring time in the sodium silicate synthesis process. Synthesis of sodium silicate was carried out using alkaline extraction at low temperature. This method is based on the solubility of silica under alkaline conditions and is proven to be more effective than the smelting method. The dissolution of silica contained in the volcanic ash of Mount Kelud was carried out using NaOH solution to form a Na2SiO3 solution. This process also studied the effect of stirring time on the amount of dissolved silica, with the stirring time of 0.5; 1; 1.5; 2; 2.5; 3 and 4 hours. The dissolved silica levels were tested using AAS. The amount of dissolved silica increased sharply with the longer length of stirring time, however for a stirring time of more than 2.5 hours, the dissolution was slow. The study revealed that the optimal result time was obtained from the stirring time of 2.5 hours with dissolved silica content of 19.82%. Keywords: volcanic ash, silica, sodium silicate, stirring time

Abstract

Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) is an important commodity as the main ingredient for sugar production. Good sugarcane growth will produce high sugar yields so that sugar production also increases. Seed maintenance is one of the important stages in preparing good plants, especially fertilization. Oil palm empty fruit bunches residual mushroom (TKSJ) are one of the solid wastes produced from processing palm oil mills and can be used as an organic fertilizer. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of giving TKSJ on the growth of sugarcane seedlings in peat soil media. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications, namely without TKSJ compost (K0); TKSJ 25% (K1); TKSJ 50% (K2); TKSJ 75% (K3) and TKSJ 100% (K4). Observation parameters consisted of leaf length (cm) and root wet weight (g). The data were analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Abstract

Rubber is a latex-producing plant that has economic value in increasing people's income and welfare. The purpose of this study was to study the growth of sleeping eye stumps on peat media with different watering intervals. This research was conducted in the experimental garden of the Ketapang State Polytechnic, Delta Pawan District, Ketapang Regency, West Kalimantan from April to June. This study used a single factor Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 4 treatments and was repeated 5 times. K0: watering interval once a day, K1: watering interval every 2 days, K2: watering interval every 3 days, K3: watering interval every 4 days. The results showed that the once-a-day watering interval was optimum for the growth of rubber bed stumps on peat media.

Abstract

Cocoa seeds are seeds that have easy germination properties or are called recalcitrants. The technique of storing recalcitrant seeds cannot be dried below a critical moisture content, germinates easily and is not tolerant of low temperatures, so it is necessary to modify storage using sawdust storage media so that the seeds remain of good quality. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of various doses of sawdust on the shelf life of cocoa seeds. Besides that, it also knows the best treatment of various doses of sawdust that can increase the shelf life of cocoa seeds. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 6 replications so that there were 36 experimental units. Parameters observed consisted of seed moisture content during storage, moldy seeds in storage and percentage of germination in seeding. Observational data were analyzed using ANOVA. If the results have a significant effect, then continue with the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) test at a level of 5%. The results showed that the best sawdust storage medium was 180 grams (A5) which could reduce the percentage of moldy seeds in storage.

Abstract

Coffee (Coffea sp) is one of the plantation commodities that has a fairly high economic value and plays an important role as a source of foreign exchange for the country. The importance of coffee plants in the Indonesian economy makes coffee production increase. Swallow dung is an organic fertilizer which contains C-Organic 50.46%, N/total 11.24%, and C/N Ratio 4.49 with a pH of 7.97%, Phosphorus 1.59%, Potassium 2.17%, Calcium 0.30%, Magnesium 0.01%. This study aims to determine the effect of fertilizer application on the growth of Liberika coffee seedlings on peat media. The study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 5 replications, so that there were 25 experimental units, each experimental unit consisting of 3 samples so that the total number of samples was 75 samples. The treatments were W0: 0 g/polybag, W1: 40 g/ polybag, W2: 60 g/polybag, W3: 80 g/polybag, W4: 100 g/polybag. The dry parameters observed were plant height, stem diameter, leaf length, leaf width, root length, and plant weight. The results showed that the application of swallow fertilizer had a significant effect on the parameters of plant height, stem diameter, leaf length, leaf width, root length, and dry weight of liberica coffee plants. The dose of 100 g/polybag of swallow manure was the best dose that affected the vegetative growth of the coffee liberika plant.

Abstract

Pelatihan bertujuan memberikan pemahaman terkait tata cara menyusun buku ajar kepada guru-guru MGMP IPA. Selain itu, dilakukan pendampingan langsung untuk membuat rancangan buku ajar yang relevan serta sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan partisipatif. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober-November Tahun 2022 dengan jumlah peserta sebanyak 35 orang. Kegiatan pelatihan meliputi persiapan kegiatan (survei & koordinasi dengan mitra), pelaksanaan kegiatan (workshop pelatihan & pendampingan), dan evaluasi kegiatan (evaluasi ketercapaian kegiatan). Hasil kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah terdapat peningkatan pemahaman serta kemampuan peserta pelatihan dalam menyusun buku ajar. Selain itu, hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu satu draft buku ajar yang telah disusun oleh peserta pelatihan. Kegiatan ini merupakan langkah awal sebagai motivasi bagi guru-guru dalam menulis dan menyusun buku ajar berbasis Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa.The training aims to provide an understanding of the procedures for compiling textbooks for MGMP IPA teachers. In addition, direct assistance is provided to design relevant textbooks that meet students' needs. The method used is participatory training. Community service activities are carried out from October until November 2022 with 35 participants. Training activities include the presentation of material by resource persons and mentoring activities for preparing textbook drafts which are carried out face-to-face and online. The result of this service activity is an increase in understanding and ability to compile textbooks. In addition, the result of this community service activity is a draft textbook the training participants have prepared. This activity is the first step in motivating teachers to write and compile textbooks based on the independent learning curriculum that suits the needs of students.
