Abstract

This community service workshop aims to develop students' interest in learning mathematics, especially linear programming using GeoGebra Apllication in order to increase their study results. The teaching and learning process are still used conventional method and have not utilized information and communication technology so far. Mathematics learning tends to be considered abstract and difficult to understand. Therefore, many students become less interested in learning it and it affects low study results. The use of information and communication technology-based learning media can be an alternative to improve the quality of the learning process by providing interesting and effective learning. One of them is by utilizing the GeoGebra application in learning process. The workshop was attended by 32 students using a collaborative approach including lecturing, discussion, question and answer, and demonstration methods. The results of the workshop revealed that students showed high interest during the learning process and their scores increased after learning process using the GeoGebra application. Based on the results of the workshop, it can be concluded that the GeoGebra application can be used as learning media in learning mathematics, especially in understanding linear programming because it can develop students’ interest in learning and improve their study results.

Abstract

Achieving optimal learning outcomes in Numerical Methods courses among Informatics Engineering students remains hindered by various academic obstacles. This study aims to investigate the extent to which study patterns and levels of Self-Regulated Learning influence the academic achievement in Numerical Methods of Informatics Engineering students. Utilizing a quantitative correlational design, data were gathered from 50 participants serving as the research sample. The research instruments comprised Likert-scale questionnaires to measure study patterns and SRL, supplemented by documentation of students' academic records. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS software through Pearson correlation and multiple linear regression tests. The findings confirm that study patterns maintain a positive and significant correlation with learning outcomes (r = 0,351; p = 0,013). Similarly, Self-Regulated Learning demonstrates a positive and significant correlation with academic achievement (r = 0,598; p = 0,000). Simultaneously, both variables exert a significant impact, contributing 60.1% (coefficient of determination) to learning outcomes. Regression analysis reveals that Self-Regulated Learning possesses a more substantial influence (? = 0,708) compared to the study pattern variable (? = 0,505). This research highlights the critical importance of developing students' Self-Regulated Learning and study patterns to enhance academic performance, particularly within the context of Numerical Methods instruction.

Abstract

Mahasiswa informatika kerap mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami mata kuliah Metode Numerik sehingga berdampak pada rendahnya hasil belajar. Salah satu faktor yang memengaruhinya adalah pola belajar yang digunakan mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara pola belajar mahasiswa berdasarkan Teori Biggs (surface, deep, dan achieving) dengan hasil belajar Metode Numerik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket pola belajar Biggs dan nilai Metode Numerik dari 55 mahasiswa informatika yang dipilih secara convenience sampling. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji korelasi Pearson dan uji regresi linear sederhana yang diolah berbantuan software SPSS. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa pola belajar deep memiliki korelasi positif signifikan terhadap nilai Metode Numerik (r =0,696; p=0,00), begitu pula dengan pola belajar achieving (r=0,520; p=0,00). Sebaliknya pola belajar surface menunjukkan korelasi  negatif (r=–0,445; p=0,01). Pola belajar deep memberikan kontribusi terbesar terhadap pencapaian hasil belajar mahasiswa, yaitu sebesar 48,4%. Temuan ini menyimpulkan bahwa pola belajar berperan penting dalam pencapaian akademik, dan penting bagi dosen untuk mendorong mahasiswa mengembangkan pola belajar yang lebih efektif dalam pembelajaran Metode Numerik di program studi informatika.

Abstract

Kemampuan menganalisis data statistik merupakan kompetensi krusial bagi guru SMA dalam melaksanakan evaluasi pembelajaran dan mendukung penyusunan penelitian pendidikan, termasuk Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Namun, keterbatasan pemahaman terhadap aplikasi olah data sering kali menjadi kendala utama profesi guru di lapangan. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru-guru SMA Negeri 3 Pontianak dalam melakukan analisis data statistik menggunakan aplikasi Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan melalui skema luring melalui metode pelatihan berbasis praktik langsung (hands-on training) yang meliputi tahap analisis kebutuhan, penyampaian materi statistik dasar, demonstrasi penggunaan SPSS, praktik dan pendampingan, serta evaluasi kegiatan. Peserta kegiatan berjumlah 23 orang guru aktif dari berbagai bidang mata pelajaran. Hasil kegiatan mengonfirmasi terjadinya peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan teknis peserta dalam melakukan input data, mengolah data statistik, serta menginterpretasikan output SPSS untuk mendukung evaluasi pembelajaran dan penelitian pendidikan. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah pelaksanaan pelatihan berbasis praktik langsung menggunakan SPSS dapat menjadi alternatif untuk meningkatkan kompetensi teknis profesional guru dalam mengolah data dan menganalisis data evaluasi akademis dan mempermudah akselerasi penyusunan laporan riset pendidikan.
