Abstract

Pipes are used as a means of fluid transportation from a reservoir to a destination. In a piping system, flow loss or head loss is always found, both head loss due to pipe size and head loss due to bends, one of which is the knee. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of knee diameter on flow headloss. The method used is simulation and monogram calculation. Based on the standard ASME B16.9 B16.28 used knees with a diameter of 1, 2, 4 and inch. The experimental results show the same behavior between the simulation and the monogram calculation. The larger the knee diameter, the smaller the head loss. Headloss simulation results for knee diameters 1,2,4 and 6 inches are 0,012 m, 0,0093 m, 0,00063 m and 0,00426 m, respectively. Meanwhile, the headloss calculated by the monogram is 0.006 m, 0.0024 m, 0.0007 m and 0.004 m, respectively. The smallest headloss occurred at 4 inches in diameter indicating that the knee with this diameter is the best knee among the other four knees

Abstract

Technology makes everything done easier. This is what drives the development of technology that has producedmany tools as tools to facilitate human activities and even replace the role of humans in a particular function.However, this development has not been seen in industrial sectors that utilize conventional energy, for exampleinfruit blender machines. This study describes the making of a larger capacity fruit blender machine that cansimplify work and not take a long time. Making a fruit blender machine begins with making design drawings,making components and assembling all components intoa fruit blender machine. With this machine, it isexpected that the community can be easier. In doing work without taking a long time to get a lot of results,especially for people who have businesses in the field of fruit production.

Abstract

Pesona Jamur farmer groups primarily focus on producing baglog and cultivating oyster mushrooms. Currently, they are doing business development by making a food product called oyster mushroom chips. This program aims at improving the quality of processed oyster mushroom chips by applying the appropriate technology of a spinner machine equipped with a magnetic contactor. The method used were practical training and assistance in processing oyster mushroom chips then dissemination of applied technology a spinner machine to the partners. The result of this program indicated that the oyster mushroom chip product processed by the Pesona Mushroom Farmers Group has a light brown color and the shape of the mushroom chips is not crushed. Oyster mushroom chip products are of higher quality than before the training activities because they had used the correct processing technique. The taste of the chips is also more savory, coupled with the complete form of chips, which are expected to attract consumers and increase product value. The correct chip processing technique and a spinner machine can minimize the oil content in oyster mushroom chips and expired dates. The product's expiration has increased from one month to four months without preservatives.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to identify the effect of pyrolysis and drying on coconut shell charcoal proximate analysis. The method used in this research is Taguchi method. The independent variables used in this study were pyrolysis temperature (4500C, 5500C and 6500C), residence time (60 minutes, 90 minutes and 120 minutes), drying temperature (1000C, 1050C and 1100C) and drying time (12 hours, 18 hours and 24 hours). The response variable in this research is coconut shell charcoal proksimat value consisting of moisture content, ash content, volatile substance and bound carbon content. Orthogonal array used is L9(3)4. The results showed that the optimum condition for moisture content obtained in A1B1C1D1 condition means pyrolysis temperature 4500C, residence time 60 minutes, drying temperature 1000C and 12 hours drying time. The optimum condition for ash content obtained in A2B3C2D1 condition means pyrolysis temperature 5500C, residence time 120 minutes, drying temperature 1000C and 18 hours drying time. The optimum conditions for volatile substances obtained in A3B3C2D1 condition mean pyrolysis temperature 6500C, residence time 120 min, drying temperature 1050C and 12 hours drying time. The optimum conditions for the bonded carbon content obtained under A3B3C2D1 conditions mean pyrolysis temperature 6500C, residence time 120 min, drying temperature 1050C and 12 hours drying time.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas dan nilai ekonomis dari keripik jamur di kelompok tani Pesona Jamur di desa Argosari, kecamatan Sedayu, Bantul. Metode pelaksanaan abdimas ini dimulai dengan pendataan permasalahan pada industry keripik jamur, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan sosialisasi mesin peniris serbaguna. Langkah selanjutnya adalah demo penggunaan mesin peniris dan diakhiri dengan penyerahan alat kepada masyarakat. Hasil abdimas cukup memuaskan, yaitu dapat mengurangi kadar minyak gorengan cukup signifikan. Sampel yang diuji yaitu keripik jamur 5kg dan diperoleh keripik jamur sebesar 4,80kg setelah ditiriskan dengan mesin peniris.

Abstract

This community service program aims to utilize solar power as a source of electrical energy to replace the PLN electricity source at Bopongan RT 04 Padukuhan Kauman, Tamanan, Banguntapan, Bantul. The method of implementing this abdimas begins with data collection of residents 'houses that have not yet been supplied with electricity from PLN, then socialization is carried out about the theory of solar panels to residents and ends with the installation of solar panels in residents' homes. The results of the Community Service were quite satisfying, namely residents who had not yet received PLN electricity were able to enjoy lighting with alternative energy sources.
