Abstract

Conventional politeness understood as a form of communication between players that contain the word civility, hospitality, social ethics, and tolerance. The present study investigates the problem assertive speech act in manners that are found in the social life of the community Banjarese. The aim is to achieve assertive speech describing the type of reaction. The method used is descriptive. The results showed that assertive speech acts in Banjarese blunt language consists of assertive speechacts expressing something, speculating, complaining , acknowledging, and reporting.

Abstract

This study examines the issue form and pragmatic strategies of the imperativeinsistence in Banjar language. Through this study will be known speaking cultures of Banjar sosciety. The research objective was to describe the nature and pragmatic strategies of imperative in Banjar language. The method useisdescriptive qualitative by using record and field-notes techniques. The data werecollected from daily speech events in the traditional markets in the Wujud District at the South, North, and Central upstream. The data collected from January until March 2015. The result of the research that is pragmatic imperative insistence in the speech between sellers and buyers at the upstream traditional market in South Kalimantan is using markers, such as: ayu 'come on', kasi/capati/lajui 'quickly', the affirming gin 'yes', and the reason larangnya'expensive'. Besides, the other marker is when the speaker uses utter speech intonation hard or firm. The sentence use is a command line mode while the narrative strategies used in the imperative command of Banjar language is direct strategy.

Abstract

This research focuses on the directive speech acts in Banjar Loksado language. Thisresearch aims to describe the form of directive speech acts (requesting and suggesting)inloksado Banjar Language. This research uses pragmatic approach and descriptivemethod to describe directive speech acts of requesting and suggesting in Banjar Loksadolanguage. The method used in collecting data are direct observation, and the techniqueused are: recording and note taking technique. The result shows that the directive speechacts of requesting has linguistics politeness forms, such as: muhun ’please’, tulung’help’, and minta ’ask’. Mean while, the marker of directive speech acts of suggesting arehandaknya ’should’, baiknya ’ought’, and mun bisa ’if you can’.
