Abstract

This research is motivated by Indonesian language learning which requires each student to master four language skills, namely listening, speaking, reading and writing. In children with dyslexia or reading difficulties, the implementation efforts made by the 7th grade teacher of the Bengkulu City Special School 05 so that the child continues to master language skills despite having difficulty reading. This study aims to describe the methods used by teachers in Indonesian language learning so that dyslexic children can master reading skills. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation, and finally verification. The results of the study concluded that the implementation of learning in dyslexic children was preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The Indonesian language learning method used by the 7th grade teacher of SLB N 05 Bengkulu City in dyslexic children is the lecture method, the audiolingual method, the skimming method, and the picture and picture cooperative method.

Abstract

Salah satu bidang yang mendapat pengaruh besar dari membaca adalah pendidikan. Membaca diajarkan mulai dari jenjang pendidikan terendah seperti pendidikan anak usia dini dan taman kanak-kanak hingga perguruan tinggi. Budaya baca seseorang adalah suatu sikap atau tindakan atau perbuatan untuk membaca yang dilakukan secara teratur dan berkelanjutan. Menumbuhkan minat baca merupakan langkah awal dari upaya menciptakan budaya baca masyarakat. Berkaitan dengan upaya peningkatan kualitas masyarakat Indonesia memali gerakan gemar membaca, kita sebagai orang tuan maupu pendidik mempunyai tangggung jawab terhadap penanaman minat membaca hingga berkembang menjadi gemar membaca. Penanaman minat membaca yang dimaksud di sini ialah upaya penanaman kebiasaan menyediakan waktu untuk membaca berbagai bacaan yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan usia.

Abstract

Motivation is one of the most important factors and greatly influences the learning process. The purpose of this study was to determine how the level of motivation of students in the speaking class during the new nomal era, namely the second semester students of the English Department of IAIN Bengkulu. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach. The techniques used in collecting data were questionnaire and interview. The questionnaire consists of 36 questions divided into intrinsic and extrinsic motivation. The data are presented statistically using percentage, frequency, arithmetic mean, and standard deviation division. The results showed that the mean score of intrinsic motivation (3.89) was higher than the average score of extrinsic motivation (3.39). However, the overall motivation average of 3.68 is considered a high level of motivation despite currently studying in the Covid-19 pandemic conditions. The results of this study indicate that the majority of students learn English in the speaking class because of intrinsic motivation. They actively speak and learn English because of their own inner desires. Based on the findings of this study, several relevant learning implications and useful motivations are recommended to increase student motivation.

Abstract

Language development in early childhood is the most important aspect for early childhood. Through language, children can develop the ability to communicate with other people and children can express their thoughts using language so that other people can understand what the child is thinking. On the other hand, it is not surprising that language is considered as an indicator of a child's success. In the aspect of language development, the expected competence and results are that children are able to use language as a passive understanding of language and can communicate effectively which is useful for thinking and learning well. The role of parents is very important for children's language development by providing appropriate stimulations so that language development can develop optimally
