Abstract

Abstract Background : Anemia decreases concentration in learning, decreases physical ability, work productivity, and thinking ability in adolescents. The purpose of this study was to prove the difference in effectiveness of the administration of Moringa oleifera leaf and honey to hemoglobin levels in anemia. Methods: This study used the true experimental design with the post test only control group design method, in 21 rats selected through random sampling technique divided into 3, namely 7 moringa leaf extract groups, 7 honey groups, and 7 control groups. The variable measured in this study was the difference in hemoglobin levels after intervention. This study uses the independent statistical test T-test. Results: The results of the study in all 100% treatment groups experienced a significant increase in hemoglobin levels with an average post test score for Moringa leaf extract 18.17 g / dl higher than honey supply with an average score of 17.57 g / dl. Based on the Independent T-test analysis, p-value = 0.016 was obtained so that there were differences in the effectiveness of Moringa leaf extract and honey on hemoglobin levels. While Moringa leaf extract is more effective than honey in the treatment of iron deficiency anemia. Conclusion: This is because Moringa leaves contain iron compounds, vitamin C, and folic acid which can increase hemoglobin levels. Meanwhile, honey contains Fe minerals and is rich in vitamins which can increase the number of erythrocytes/Hb levels

Abstract

Hyperglycemia is a blood glucose level that contains a lot of sugar in the body's blood circulation. Autogenic relaxation can control blood glucose in the body, by thinking about the feeling of warmth and heaviness in the body parts. Water therapy (Hydrotherapy) is a method of treatment and healing using water as a medium. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of Autohidro (autogenic relaxation therapy and water therapy (Hydrotherapy) on blood glucose in patients with type II diabetes mellitus. The research design used Quasy Experimental with a pre test and post test control group approach, using a purposive sampling technique to obtain samples 32 respondents consisting of 16 people in each group, both control and treatment groups. Data processing and data analysis using the Paired T-Test and Independent T-Test. Results of data analysis using the Paired T-Test, Blood glucose in Diabetes Mellitus respondents there was a difference in the intervention group (p value 0.023), while in the control group there was no change in blood glucose (p value 0.064). Based on analysis using the Independent T-Test, it showed that there was an effect of Autohidro therapy on the blood glucose of Type II Diabetes Mellitus patients (p value 0.022). Autohidro therapy can be an alternative therapy to reduce blood glucose levels in Type II Diabetes Mellitus patients.

Abstract

The condition known as hypertension is brought on by the body's elevated blood pressure as a result of the heart pounding too hard. Hypertension is caused by a variety of causes, including both modifiable and unmodifiable ones. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of alternate nostril breathing and walking exercise at home on the blood pressure of senior hypertension patients. A quasi-experiment with a pre-post test control group design methodology is used in the research design. Using the Total Sampling approach, 50 respondents with hypertension made up the research sample. In two weeks, the intervention was performed four times. The paired t-test results indicate that the combination of alternate nostril breathing and home-based walking exercise has an effect on blood pressure in the treatment group (both diastolic and systolic have p values = 0.000), while the control group experiences no change in blood pressure (diastolic has p values = 0.200 and systolic has p values = 0.195). The findings of the Independent T-Test demonstrated variations in blood pressure changes in both the systolic and diastolic domains between the treatment and control groups (diastolic p-value = 0.000), and systolic (p-value = 0.000). The findings of the Independent T-Test demonstrated variations in blood pressure changes in both the systolic and diastolic domains between the treatment and control groups ,diastolic (p-value = 0.000), and systolic (p-value = 0.000). Systolic and diastolic blood pressure drop as a result of an increase in endorphin chemicals and a decrease in cortisol. This calms and relaxes the body and balances the actions of the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. It is advised that individuals with pre-elderly hypertension who are able to independently implement combination therapies in an attempt to control their blood pressure. Abstract

Education about the use of family medicinal plants (TOGA) currently really needs to be disseminated early to school students to increase knowledge as medicine and food. The aim of this community service is to increase students' understanding of using TOGA plants earlier, especially aloe vera which is used for first aid in burn wound management. This activity was carried out by presenting material and demonstrations with 30 high school students as respondents. The results of activities before the educational intervention were carried out were found to be an average (53.00) and after the educational intervention was given an average (80.00). So, from the results of the average points before and after being given burn wound management education based on aloe vera moist dressing, it was found that there was an increase in Senior High School students' knowledge and insight regarding burn wound management. Aloevera contains sterols including campesterol, β-sitosterol, and cholesterol which can reduce inflammation, help in reducing pain and act as a natural analgesic. Aloevera Moist Dressing for burn wound management can be used as an alternative for treating burns at home independently, because it is quite easy to use and the aloevera ingredient is easy to find.

Abstract

The general public, including children in schools, has to be trained in Basic Life Support (BLS). The advancement of communication and information technologies has created new avenues for the delivery of important skills training, including Basic Life Support (BLS). The goal of this community service is to use blended learning to improve students' knowledge and abilities in doing BHD. Online and offline learning are combined to execute this training-based approach to community service. While the offline component consists of practice exercises and simulations, the online component features instructional videos and other materials. The participants were 35 SMK K students in Nganjuk City. Student knowledge is measured using pre-test and post-test. The results showed a significant increase in post-test scores compared to the pre-test, with the average score increasing from 74.14 to 85.551. Students' skills in carrying out BHD also increase after participating in simulations and practice. The blended learning method has proven to be effective in increasing students' understanding and ability to perform BHD. It is hoped that this training can prepare students as potential bystanders who are able to provide first aid in cases of cardiac arrest in the community.

Abstract

Epistaxis or commonly called nosebleed is bleeding in the nasal vestibule, nasal cavity, or nasopharynx that is acute. Fainting is an emergency situation where someone experiences a life-threatening condition that requires immediate assistance. This usually occurs in school students who are performing ceremonies, or outdoor activities. The purpose of this community service is to improve first aid skills in epistaxis and syncope management with the DOFLET method in adolescents. The partners of this community service are 21 adolescents at SMK X. This service method uses the DOFLET method (demonstration and leaflet) by providing training to demonstrate/demonstrate how to handle using available tools directly to improve first aid skills in epistaxis and syncope management in adolescents at SMK X. Based on the results obtained, the results before being given first aid training for epistaxis and syncope management were mostly in the sufficient category and after being given training, most were in the good category. The results of the statistical analysis also showed the influence of the strategy for optimizing first aid for epistaxis and syncope management with the ability to provide first aid in adolescents. The strategy for optimizing first aid education for epistaxis and syncope is expected to help students understand how to provide first aid correctly, as well as increase students' insight into preventing epistaxis and syncope.
